I pronounce it different every time that I say it just to keep it fresh...

    - Ar-cane-ist (southern accent)
    - Ar-can-ist (northern accent)
    - Ar-ca-nist (correct pronunciation)

I'm not sure the linked page is the best guide, it concerns ceramics. In any case, the pronunciation would probably also vary by country: the USA pronunciation would no doubt be very different to the European, UK or Australian (for example).

So am I lol but I still say Ar ka nist lol, and I’m southern to boot :p

Even Zos calls it that. The early example where someone used Lorkhan doesn’t work because the emphasis comes from the kh. There isn’t any in arcanist. There’s no e, and the word isn’t arcane. It’s clearly pronounced Ar can ist. Sound it out y’all.

I’m northern too boot. And the dictionary even says ar-cane-ist the root word is arcane not arcan that’s not a word. I did sound it out you all.

Thats not how pronunciation works. Example, profane- profanity. Its pro fan ity, not pro fane ity. Root words don't dictate pronunciation.

I don’t known I don’t like how arka-nist sounds here it takes away from the root word here which is ARCANE aka magic. Arkanist sounds like someone from Arkansas who is running into politics or something

On the topic of magical, the major and minor Ar-can-as of the tarot exist, which also comes from the root word Arcane[/quote]

Arcane warrior is a my custom build in Daggerfall.

That’s what I always named it.

To me the stand out word is arcane. An arcan isn’t a word and makes it sound lazy and weird. Like machinist instead of saying machine-ist mack-anist or something it’s bizarre. I don’t like it. I also don’t like when people say “sork” for sorcerer the c doesn’t make the “kuh” sound in that word. It’s irksome as all get out.

This sounds like your riding only on British English. In my state alone (and even with my different parts of my stare we differ greatly ) we speak different than the rest of the country. You compare America all the different regions the uk to Australia and than Canada and you get very different ways to say things. But the way a Brit says something ain’t gonna be the same as someone from the USA says it and even different among each region.

You know that every country has varying regional accents. Not just the US.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

    You don’t say 🙄

Yes I’m aware not my point. But thanks for the condescension and hubris.
