I returned to game about 2 months ago. Since has been nothing but false claims of their maintenance times. Have they ever stuck to a schedule?
Come on now. Surely everyone expected the crashing and maintenance after this came out, right? Happens every time ESO brings out new content now, and has for about 2 years. I don't understand why they're fine with this being the norm now. Shouldn't they anticipate it and work out any bugs ahead of time? I mean, if your community even expects this, then ZoS should, too, and get better at new releases.

Thats called "pulling a scotty"

I was talking to a friend in-game last night who told me she had today off and would be able to play the expansion, and my reply to her was basically, "Yeah, hopefully, if the server isn't down most of the day." We can only hope there won't be multiple other down-times today, but I'm not counting on it.

I like the way FF14 does it, plan for the whole day to be down; 24 hours. Then when it comes up early, you just made your whole player-base happy.

I prefer the way GW2 does it, zero downtime... ever. Only real downtime the game has is when something goes wonky and has to go down for an hour or two, that has happened extremely infrequently. We get more downtime in this game each week for "routine" maintenance than i think GW2 has had the entire time it's been out and it came out nearly a year before this one.

Another epic fail for the ESO dev team. Since I started playing 3 or 4 months ago, every single scheduled maintenance has been late. Total lack of any accountability. Time to cancel my ESO Plus. That will probably be the only way to get them to live up to their promises - hit them in the wallet.

I think that we would ALL "prefer" that too.
But then we would be playing GW2.... There is a reason that we are here instead of there.

True, I prefer that too, but GW2's infrastructure is set up to allow for actual hotfixing.
