Nah im actually quite interested in these smaller ones. Anyone can do a million different things with manors or large homes but inn rooms and apartments? You have to be more decisive; choice and arrangement of placement matter far more. Its quite beautiful and challenging in a minimalist sense.

I prefer inn rooms, apartments and small houses as well, mainly because of insane amount of time and cost that will be needed for large houses and mansions. I find it quite daunting!

I admire people who build their own houses though! I love decorating but I don't think I'm ready for architectural challenge!

I’m not so sure about that. From the pics above you have a great eye for detail and a creative approach to personalising the spaces. Bigger house, more space to let that creativity flow!

Honestly, most of the time I just start chucking things around until something starts to look nice. I always try to use the house and/or surroundings to inspire me, which is often about making some way to access the view points that the base house doesn’t offer.

But I love your small rooms are they on the housing hub for others to visit?

Excellent use of greenery. You seem to have an eye for design. None of these would seem out of place in the overworld - at least, not in any of the nicer places in the overworld.

I got the Psijic mansion back when it was a reward in an event. I find the largest houses to be impossible to decorate with how few items you have to use, so I'd prefer using the larger limit to build a house in the limits of the house. It's easier when the space is in ruins like is the case with the psijic mansion, or when there is no house to speak of like the cave, or the snow one, the coldharbor one, or the elsweyr one (none of which I own). So I'm building a house on the water outside the larger mansion. Not new, other people do the same thing, but just my two cents.

As for a large house/mansion, I might get there if my current ESO housing addiction continues lol - we will see

I don't use EHT but some people with EHT have successfully visited my houses - the only place you can't visit at the moment is Hall of Lunar Champion (including Lion's Cradle which is decorated) because I'm currently working on Hall of Colossus!

I'm trying to do some sort of building (very minimal tho) in Hall of Colossus - crossing my fingers it will turn out well!

Yeah I'm of quite a similar mindset. My problem with the mansions is that I'm not really that interested in gardening and would rather focus on the interior. Problem for me is I'm not too thrilled with the layout of Waters Edge or Alinor Townhouse and the stonework of Proudspire causes problems with larger wall decorations.

What i'd really kill for is a nice Gold Coast or Colovian Imperial style townhouse. Something like the Linchal Manor or Strident Springs without the giant courtyards. Maybe if we're lucky when ZOS eventually does a Skingrad DLC they'll bring back Summitmist Manor as a throwback to one of the most iconic and beloved quests from Oblivion.

Same, ive been using it as a dump space but recently i've considered using the place as a galleria to showcase/sell craftable and extra luxury furnishings.

i instantly hate, aka am severely jealous of, anyone that is good at housing.

i have tried and tried and have good ideas but just cannot do it --- then i watch one of my guild mates build a huge pyramid in my house in like 20 minutes and i am just flat out amazed at some of the houses i see in this game. .

IMO, it really comes down to 1. which items you have unlocked (either via achievement, getting furnishing plans and mats etc) 2. practice / trial & error 3. whether you have mod support or not (I don't use EHT but I heard it has some very helpful functions)

Also, I tend to realise people are so harsh on themselves when they themselves create something unique and beautiful
