Cannot launch the game with the new patch

Firstly, I know the servers are still offline.

However, before I get to the logon screen and before the client makes a connection with the server I am getting this error message


I believe this is similar to what occured with some people when the PTS for Ascending Tide started.

Is this happening for anyone else and/ or did anyone find a fix or workaround for when this occured on the week 1 PTS.

Update: I have repaired the game via the launcher and it still will not get onto the logon screen.

I just launched it on three different PCs, reached the login screen fine in all of them.

I am still recieving this error, with varying error codes.

Had a similar issue. Just did a repair from the main launcher and it worked fine.

I am encountering a similar issue. I get to the login screen for a few seconds, then get the error and the game closes. Repaired once and it did seem to be doing some repairs, but still gave me an error after reaching the login again.

I only got it twice during the PTS testing, it went away after restarting the game and didn't appear in subsequent patches for me.

It turns out RivaTuner was causing the problem for me. I didn't have to uninstall it, just disabling it fixed the problem.

Updated my Nvidia drivers as some on the PTS thread had suggested as a fix. Still getting the error

Same here. Repaired from the launcher, updated graphic driver, restarted... nothing worked. Still crashes at the Bethesda logo already.

Windows 10, getting the bug. So not related to Windows 7 or 8.

i tried several times, repaired 3 times and still the same, the farthest i got was just before charater selection, but most times it crashes just at the bethesda logo

I can see login screen for 2 seconds and then shows error (application terminated) and game crashes.

I have been in and loaded 9 out of 18 chars before my break run out.

Several members on the ITT discord have already cycled through all their 18 characters without issue.

No one has reported this error so far.

@ZOS_GinaBruno The issue happens for me when the Zenimax logo is spinning immediately after launch. I have retrried multiple times following reboots etc, and still no joy

This is either happening just post cursor load, when the screen is black and the game's cursor has loaded in but before the login screen shows.

Or, just after reaching the login screen, the first few notes of the music play then crash.

I have not been able to get to the character selection screen.

thought i'd see wats what and i got realy choppy game play for about 30sec's/a minatue, then it looked like it was either reloading ui or logging in/out with the location image then CtD going to try some tweaks and see if i can sort out 'owt

Logged in just fine, without performing a repair ( on purpose, as I always check after updates to see if any available - and it is now there). Had a bit of a hiccup after loading in Fargrave (character logged, walked 2 steps, froze while loading screen showed up again - then all went back to normal). I did however updated all the available add-ons which now have an update.

I managed to log in the game but it froze minutes later, repaired it but still no changes.

I'm also having this issue.

I click the play button on launcher. Screen goes black, cursor loads in. I see the login screen and it says requesting log in. (I play from Steam).
Then crash to desktop (Log in does not complete). No error messages.

Running a repair now, so will see if it fixes the issue.
EDIT:
Repair didn't fix it. Still crashing to desktop after seeing the login screen.

I get to the log in screen then it takes like 2 secs and i got the message. Not able to log in but i hear the soundtrack for a short time.

ATTENTION : while i can log i noticed that eso64.exe have been blocked by Norton for data protection and i had to exclure game from Norton

I would get past the login screen, but freeze during the loading screen.
I tried repairing through the launcher, didnt help.

Edit: Updated my nvidia drivers, and can now log in without any issue.
