I wish there were more crafted magicka sets.

Look at stamina v magicka for 9 trait sets. There are six. Two are stamina. One is a tank set. Two are neutral. And one is tank / stamina.

    No magicka sets.

Could it be any clearer who ZO doesn't love?

I disregard all proc sets - crafted or drops. It's like they don't exist. There's no joy for me in being a walking slot machine.

Twice-Born Star. Still use it on my healer since 2015.

Yeah. It's a solid performer and flexible. It's what I recommend when crafting max level gear for new players.

In this one respect ESO at least slightly leans in the direction of the flexibility and freedom I love in the single player games.

I do occasionally forget to go visit a mundus stone for my second buff when passing a set to an alt, but it's still my preferred set.

    Pelinal's Aptitude.

I reckon this one varies by class.

eg. with wardens only having 4 magicka damage abilities - about half that of that of other classes - I considered pelinal's. And made some jewelry and weapons.

But a big chunk of warden's power rests in their buffs and debuffs, eg. lotus flower and scorch, which each have morphs which go fully one way or the other in relation to magic v weapon damage. The only warden ability which swings a little bit both ways is the green betty netch boosting both spell and weapon damage - which pelinals already takes care of.

Nightblade's mark debuffs spell and physical resistance. Dragonknight's flames of oblivion buffs both weapon and spell critical and molten armaments buffs just spell damage, but also all fully charged heavy attacks - so that could go very nicely with pelinals.

Twice Born Star is just fantastic for overall survival, bonus to all stats and the spare Mundus stone for flexibility; I run Mage and Steed (whoosh! Sprinting is fun!) when soloing, Mage and Apprentice for trials.

I've always liked Shadow Dancer, that was my secondary set for a long time, Mag, spell damage, and sneakiness. These days I run Julianos or Necro because I need the extra stats, but they're practical, not fun.

Ilambris is a good monster set and fiery death is fun, but Maw of the Infernal and Nerien'eth are even more fun, just outdated at this time.

I want all sets to have goofy summon procs, or give you a useful new skill instead of just more numbers.

I am using Fortified Brass, Torugs Pact and Tremorscale sets on my Stam DK Argonian tank. The latter set gives my tank more fire power. Can solo non-DLC normal dungeons using these sets. Might try swapping Torugs for Thunderberg for more damage and switching from S&B on backbar to frost staff. What do people think about that idea for soloing normal dungeons?

There are many sets I like depending on role but overall if I had to pick one I would probably say "Sanctuary" as I use it in both PvE and PvP for healing, albeit with divines for PvE and Impen for PvP.

It would have to be Burning Spellweave.

It is pretty much the only set I have used since first picking it up nearly 5 years ago. It can be used on just about any magicka DPS and is useful on my DK tank for certain situations.

The Inferno staff still eludes me, which only adds another factor, the set keeps me wanting after all these years.

The only non-crafted set, I think which has been a top magdd set for pretty much the entirety of the games lifespan so far, love it :)

Note: the only jewelry which I have golded out, so far.

I'm curious how do you use on DK tank? I found the shield and the sharpened inferno staff

Maybe because the good (well, decent) magicka sets don´t even require that many traits?

Not that crafted sets are that great anyway, they need to bring in more that have higher requirements to craft IMO, maybe special ingredients etc and not just trait numbers...

Personally I have a thing for all things werewolf (they be cool) and the updated Sunderflame which I think is quite underrated (ok it is weird statswise but the flame damage is bloody huge and minor fracture is not too common a debuff). I loved it for heavy attack DW weaves before ZOS freaked out and halved the enchantments... :(

    - Alteration Mastery/Battlefield Acrobat. Nice 4pc and 6% cost reduction on everything is pretty OP, especially when stacked with other reductions from racials, passives and sets.

    - Blood Spawn. One of the most tried and true monster sets in the game. Lots of resistances, high proc chance, heaps of ultimate, and stam recovery. I mean, come on. What's not to like.

    - Fortified Brass. This beautiful set allows you to run medium armor and have higher resistances than you would in heavy, while still maintaining the sustain, damage and crit of medium. Easy to craft. Nice.

    - Armor Master. Easy to back bar on magicka builds, giving you extra bulk under your shields. I feel safe in light armor thanks to this set.

    - Shacklebreaker. For a balanced build, this set is uncontested. Works great on magicka or stamina builds, giving you extra resources and sustain to keep on fighting where you otherwise may not have been able to.

    - Bone Pirate/Bright-Throat. Lots of sustain and a heap of max resources just for running a drink you're probably using anyway. As far as sustain sets go, you can't really get any better.

    - Torug's Pact. Ever since the glyph buffs, this set has performed extremely well with specific builds. With Torug's you're able to achieve a 6.4k+ tooltip on your damage glyph, with a highly reduced cooldown no less.

    - Spriggan/Spinner. Amazing 4pc on both of these sets, and the penetration contributes to a lot of extra damage, especially against tanky opponents, which is a lot of them.

    - Dragon. I think this is a pretty underrated set. 15% ultimate cost reduction is no laughing matter. On a sorcerer that's already a 30% reduction. Pair it with Acrobat/Alteration and you're at 36%. The 4pc isn't as attractive as others, but I think the cheap ultimates more than makes up for it.

Probably heaps of others, but they are the ones that come to mind first. I could never pick one favourite set, as a lot of them can synergise really well together

Leeching Plate because of the trash-talking shield! I love pairing it with Bahraha’s Curse on my tank.

Innate Axiom is great if you use a lot if class skills. I pair it with Silks of the Sun (DK), Netch’s Touch (Sorc), War Maiden (NB), and Ysgramor (Warden).

Shacklebreaker is one of the most flexible sets in game, too.

Bahraha's Curse is probably my favorite underrated set. It's not min/max but the amount of survivability it adds to tanks is incredible. I keep a heavy set on each tank as a swap in for content where something like Alkosh would not really be necessary and I have a light set I use on mag toons when I'm just running around doing simple things and don't want to think about having to ever heal myself. I find it useful for Skyreach grinding and other content with a large amount of trash mobs. Combo'ed with Iceheart, it can make you fairly tough to crack.

Absolutely going to add my vote to Bahraha's Curse. It's awesome. Boosts all three stats, does decent aoe damage, slows enemies, and heals for damage done. And it's particularly amazing for wardens, because Piercing Cold passive boosts magic damage, and thus healing; and even better, Bahraha's triggers the Maturation passive, meaning that it kicks off a warden's Minor Toughness and 10% extra health. Add that to the fact that it comes in all weights, and it's a set I've ended up using on almost every character to a greater or lesser extent. My current Nord frost warden is very happily using it, alongside Winterborn and Iceheart.

Yep! When I first got it- I kept looking around for some daedra. I asked my wife if she could hear it from her computer. When we figured it out- we farmer the dungeon for another shield for her!

Hands down- it’s one of the most interesting weapon concepts in-game.

Now if only I could pair it with Caluurion’s evil laughter! Where’s the talking monster helm/shoulder set, too?!?!

This one is tricky. I tried to build 100% horn uptime sorc for dungeons, by combining imperial+dragon+potentates+sorc+ww-hide backbar. Unfortunately each new ulti cost reduction is deducted from what is left. So final horn cost was not 250*(1- 0.15-0.15-0.1-0.03)=142.5, but 158. So it is not 43% reduction, but only 37% :(

I don't ever use it because my rotation's not tight enough to keep up the x5 stack, but I love the AY animation. Twice-Fanged Serpent has a similar one with a green poison-y animation, but it's just not the same as the sound + shiny of AY.

I'm trying out Vicious Death + Thurvokun in PvP with my magblade... I had hoped to use it on my frost warden to up the annoyance factor, but she never kills anyone... I'll probably add the Icy Conjuror set once I get all of the pieces, bwahahahaha.
