BTW I wouldn't use Max health/regen food, would use tri stat food. If you must go that route there's food that increases Max health, magicka and gives regen.

best magplar solo build right now, some folks will say lich is better than spinners in this setup, but lich is overkill for sustain, as long as you place your rune right you won't have any issues.
@akinos also has an AMAZING templar build, I struggled with it solo, but I'm not the caliber of player that he is. In a small group, I was able to do ridiculous things, things that didn't seem possible. His build is linked in his sig posted above me.
BSW is under rated for templars, its just so stupid hard to farm, I still don't have all my jewels so I have to run janky setups with it
Easy: Magic < every stam build
Magplar is not a strong solo build or class.
Magic regen less than stam regen you will run out of magic before any stam build runs out of stam.
Magic regen comes from lich which is not heavy.
Magplar is great in groups as long as you have sword and board and vamp for elusive mist. Btw I have over 3 k hours on a magplar.

How is your spell damage with that high magicka on a Templar? I've been playing around with max stats over spell/weap damage builds and it seems like I get near the same tooltip values stacking either one, but I haven't tried it on a Templar yet.

About 2300 unbuffed with sword and board, never really was into stacking spell damage on a magplar unless you're emp.

That's also with only 2 spell damage glyphs and one recovery.

I'm sorry, but are you unaware that BoL and Radiant destruction have much, much higher scaling off spell damage than off magika? They possess 2 of the highest spell damage coefficients in the game. Therefore, advising magplars to stack magika over damage is actually bad advice since you weaken your healing and execute. 36-38k seems to be a good number if you don't run inner light, you'll want to top out at more than 3200 spell damage, buffed, in combat.
edit: If you're talking about building to increase the size of harness or dampen then that's a niche build for sure and likely to be less effective by result.
