How to beat blazing shield?

Looking for advice on how to beat this skill. I play a stamina Night Blade, and I often end up hitting myself for 10k+ damage vs Blazing Shield users.

Part of the problem is I don't recognize when it's being used. I'm assuming there's some sort of graphical tell that warns me they are using it, but I haven't picked up on it yet. Cyrodiil is such a zerg cluster it's hard to actually learn stuff like this.

Looking at the skill description, it sounds like swapping to my bow is probably the safest way to deal with these guys. I guess Shield Breaker set might also help, and maybe Magicka cost increasing poisons. Is there anything I'm missing?

The best way to defeat a trollplar is to ignore it.

There is nothing you can do as the Holy Templar smites you with their Golden glow, just embrace death and respawn.

They look like a giant yellow egg. That's probably the best way to tell.

Yes, Shield Breaker is pretty annoying when you're on a blazing shield templar, but keep in mind they have high health pools, so your fingers will get sore if you try and rely solely on that.
Range is their worst nightmare. Root them as much as possible and use ranged attacks. You'll slowly get them down. They won't have any fantastic self healing, so heal debuffs are pretty useless.
Jump in for a surprise attack on the occasion to get the major breach debuff on them, but don't melee attack too much or you'll burst the bubble. Basically just keep your distance and they won't be an issue at all.
Alternatively just walk around them. They aren't going to kill you if you don't try and kill them.

Range attacks helps and a good Toxic Barrage helps but there's not much you can do really but a blazing shield build will usually glow yellow for a few second after using that skill. Just ignore it and you should be fine

I also play on PC from time to time but I just wanna be left alone on there so sorry.

Turn on resource numbers. Check health before you engage. You'll see 65k+ health. Obviously don't try to fight them.

Range and numbers. 1 person isn't taking down a good BS Templar, but burn as much as you can when they're stunned and shields are down.
In a group situation, the best advice is "Don't hit them", but sadly just like you can't stop randoms from taking the flag (when towers had doors), you can't stop others from hitting them and you taking the brunt.
BS Templars only hit as hard as others make them hit.

    Burn our stamina.
Use a Magicka drain poison when we spam the shield.
Don't engage if a pug joins the fight.
Use distance attacks, slot flying blade and keep us stunned.
Use incap strike for the decreased healing.

You can reach way higher health pools now than you could before, also people have more CP now.

It's still not that great of a skill. You basically rely on people to commit suicide. The other morph is 100℅ useless.

Which is coincidentally a great way to relieve stress... just go out there with your armor master and plague doctor and let everyone wreck themselves.... it will make you smile.

In PvP you just have to be aware they exist and keep away from them. In duels, don't duel them. If you're using a BS Templar, don't start duels.
Thanks to an adaptation of @duuude9192b14_ESO 's latest Regenerator build, my BS tank (primarily PvE, but some PvP for fun) has ~5K health regen when I'm under 60% health (and 4K for 10 seconds when I'm above 60%)and ~65k Max health, yet people still send duel invites.

At best, they dive in and die, at worst they avoid me and the fight is never-ending. BS Templars shouldn't be dueling; just like Andre the Giant, we're used to fighting groups.

Look at their health bar. My rule of thumb is if they have more than 40k health, they ain't worth the AP.

Few questions...are you 1v1? If so...walk away. Are you XvX? If so do not go into range of blazing shield and range dps the other players. Best way I have noticed to defeat this build is to run stamina poison or magick poison. And Stun on cool down.

Also consider a few things, in group play in cyrodil I is possible to achieve 90k health and 2.1 k mag regen. Regardless, one on one they cannot be killed. I have a blazing shield build that I run in cyrodil since 1T came out. I love the build...alot...and I can tell you from experience, we do not go down easily...were like cyrodils raid bosses. Need heals and tactics to beat us.

One thing off key for others in blazing shield builds...there is a damage cap in PVE. I pull off higher crits in PVP than in PVE. The health is irrelevant in this math since shield are nit halfed in pve. If I get a max hit of 10k in PvP after 200 hits, than in PVE I should be getting a max hit of roughly 18-19k right? Wrong...the damage in pve would be 9.5k max hit...even though my shield in pvp is only 15k my shield in pve is 33k at 70k health...so I don't know...somone figure it out...

Unless you're planning to light/heavy attack them to death from range, this won't help a solo player against a BS tank. Just gang up on them and stun them until you wear them down.

Have enough self healing to survive (not hard, Vigor+ Rally every 6 second) wear fasallas, and pop their shield so they get debuffed. They will eventually die to overflow damage. Don't get into execute range

Why fasallas? healthplars have crappy healing to begin with. Fasallas would be complete overkill

Oh that's just because its damage was 33% of total shield strength and still halved by battlespirit. Finally in spring they found the light. But to be honest, that *** still needs a lot more work since it has no use for any "normal" build. They have to find a middle ground for the skill and how it scales with health stat, so that it could have use for both builds. Maybe they could add more base health and change the math behind how shield scales with your health. Or something else..

I find this bombplar build quite boring. You just sit there and troll people(potatoes) by pushing the same button over and over and do light/heavy attacks in between. I would never waste my limited free time to do that. Never again at least. I did that couple times and it was enough.
    Wtb 1.5 Blazing Shield though.

Well the build is technically a tank support. If you have teammates, is your job to alter the direction of the fight by any means necessary. So if a legit group is ignoring you, all you need to do is drop an oil catapult in the middle of a fight. Even with purges, the stam they lose is enough of a reason to attack you.

And try ignoring a bombplar during a keep seige ;).

Because at the very least they have Ritual. And maybe they have Regeneration. When your damage window is 1 second out of 3, that passive healing adds up.

It's also a solution to them in GvG where they are getting bigger heals and taking more damage...plus it helps against the guys healing him
