I remember when duelers would honestly suggest to play without potions, regardless of the fact that they were about to duel an Argonian Nightblade...

Because the idea of dueling is having fun for some people, still. And there are people dueling just to annoy others with those kind of "cheezy" stuffs yes for example traps or many other options. The best way suits to me, duel with your friends or people you know.

    Hehehe :]

All "banned" things work as intended, except really broken bugged sets. Don't be hypocritical, peeps.

lmao, who bans that? not saying it isn't strong, even too strong in comparison to many others, but if there is one big problem with high-quality duels, it's most of them becoming endless. whoever bans purely offensive stuff like this, or sets like fasallas, is at fault for a failed tournament that is 10% fights and 90% bitching / drama in chat about judge decisions. personally, i'd even allow damage resource poisons but w/e.

nobody wants judge decisions but as long as some people push their agendas (I don't want to / can use X for this and that reason but I have lost against X at some point, let's ban X!). Further many people complain about stam sorcs but then ban everything that interacts well with purge (which stamsorcs just cannot really get).

on topic: it's a high-damage skill, works as delayed damage (more pressue within a given time window) and applies a root which is also a very strong effect

    Here's a tourney banning trap beast: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/3481571

While I won't say whether or not it should be banned, I'd definitely like to see the skill actually made visible to the enemy, and for trap chaining (placing a trap at somebody's feet right as they activate your trap to get a 100% uptime, best way to shut down magic players as they can't afford to dodge roll and most don't have access to a purge) to be removed.

If someone want to ban trap beast from a dual, really you can just tell them they are bad and walk away.

    - No HEAVY ARMOR (not even one piece)
    - Banned Abilities (currently) - Trap Beast, Soul Strike, One hand and shield ultimate
    - No CP changing No gear changing No ability changing (unless instructed to do so)
    - Only potions allowed are Single Stat, Tri-stat, and Spell/Weapon Power
    - No Immovable Potions / Detect Potions / Lingering Health Potions
    - NO TANK BUILDS (OR YOU WILL GET MADE FUN OF)
    - NO COSTUMES (so we can see your gear)
    :smirk:

Worse one I ever had with these was with my GW2 Ranger, I never ever lost a duel and someone once told me I was cheating because I "was using my pet..."

Ugh, I'll just stick to ED:Arena, Eve Valkyrie or Counter Strike.

I find trap beast very annoying. Anything I never encounter in open world PvP being used in a duel just irks me for some reason. If someone insists on camping their trap beast to lure me into it I walk 20 meters away from them and spam RD until they come to me. Believe it or not, I have actuallly killed people doing this because they refused to step away from their trap.

It's also fun when proc set users whine at me for using LoS.

i use it in open-world all the time. kite behind obstacle, place trap, wait for the first of the enemy train, DBoS and make it 1v(X-1), rinse and repeat. with the rules posted, it's different though: that's a VERY different game (though, tbh I don't really see why banning trap is necessary there)
