Good 5 piece set for Magplar (PVP)?

For PVP, I currently run 5 Transmutation, 5 Kagrenac and 2 Skoria.
For PVE, I run 3 Transmutation (for sustain mainly), 5 Julianos or 5 Twilight's embrace, 2 Torugs pact and 2 Skoria.
I am sure I can do better than that to produce better DPS.
I was considering dropping 2 Skoria for 1 Kena and 1 Haj Mota's (PVP)
While, for PVE, have 3 Will power, 3 Transmutation and 1 Kena.
However, Skoria will get quite a decent buff in the next Patch so I am not sure what to do.

There is a new heavy set that gives crit, crit and spell power and also permenent 20% major buff. For a templar it's ideal. If it comes in jewelery which I'm not sure if it will then that plus kags will be an epic combo.

They just haven't been clear on what sets have jewelery or not.

5 x Law of Julianos (mettle, heavy chest, medium feet or legs, the rest light) with divines - spell crit, spell power
5 x Amberplasm (jewelry, light head & shoulders) preferably with divines - magicka and stamina regeneration
2 x Torug's Pact sharp swords - more spell power and penetration

I should specify that, unless it gets massively nerfed, I don't want to give up the Transmutation Set for PVP. It's just too good.

Rattle cage. Max health. Spell power. Spell power. Perma major sorc. If it has jewelery combine it with spinners set. Max mag, max mag, spell damage 5th perk 5k spell pen.

Would be a hulk and just jab my way to victory. Stack with 2 sharp torugs swords and hopefully we'll be looking at a minimum 15k spell pen. Anything that isn't in full heavy will be mown down.

Khajiit has heard of this shiny trinket, and this one happens to believe that it comes in an array of weapons and jewellery.

This one already has plans to equip the Fancy Elf with 2 swords and 3 shiny pieces of Jewellery from this Rattlecage. Even a High Elf would be happy with such a gift

@Asardes why not swap out torugs pact swords for 1pc kena and another 1pc monster shoulder? Bloodspawn or a health bonus. Or I think there's going to be another monster set with a 1pc spell damage buff in update 12.

There is only one magplar heavy set & it's the best.

I think that's a viable option as well if you get other amberplasm minor parts. For example if you get the belt and the gloves you can craft Julianos swords and get a kenna head and another monster piece. But the trick is that you will lose the Julianos 5 piece bonus if you switch the bar and you are running the same 2 swords these as well. So you are dropping a 299 bonus for an 129 bonus in spell damage. What I described above was hinting at using a Maelstrom destro staff on the other bar, which has an even bigger 189 spell damage bonus. Or even a master staff if you use destructive touch a lot. It has a max magicka bonus as single piece.

Then run transmutation with Julianos (if you have the jewels), or Kagrenac's Hope. Those are crafted so you don't have jewels. I don't know much about the dropped sets but there may be some with magicaka/spell critical and spell power as well. I won't base my build excessively on dropped sets, since the RNG is very nasty.

I already have Kagrenac's Hope as 2nd set. I was considering Julianos, but lately I think I will go with Clever Alchemist. It's an "expensive" set, but it will give me tons of spellpower without taking anything away from my tankiness.

If you prefer heavy armor, try this: 1 Kena, 5 Soulshine (all armor), 5 Transmutation (1 armor, 2 jewelry, 2 1H/S), 3 Willpower (1 jewelry, 2 DW). Swap to 1H/S to proc Transmutation, then DPS with massive spell damage.

Note that you can sub pretty much any set for Soulshine if you want.

I am tempted by Soulshine, but I hate the fact that it is not craftable tbh. Where can I farm it and how much do these pieces sell for? Does it come in impen? Otherwise it won't be worth it.

It gets updated to CP 160 with One Tamriel, so it's a future solution. In the mean time you can use Kagrenac's Hope if you want well-rounded stats, or Julianos/Vicious Death if you want to be more offensive. It really comes down to if you want heavy or light armor and if you need Impen on the pieces.

Yea, will pick it up and test it when update 12 hits live. Was great back in the day, with the weird ways ZOS does math there is no way of telling how it will perform at CP 160 though.

Yeah, it may actually make me want to use Dark Flare and Soul Assault again. I think on PTS is boosts spell damage by ~435 so it should be really strong.

This is what I currently run with impen on 5 pieces, infused on the head, and divines on the shoulders. I find that I'm very difficult to kill and can still be effective at dps. I mostly run as a PVP healer. And, I have no intention of changing my build.
