I get to bosses when they are almost dead and I managed to get loot even if there are tons of people. I run tank for my main and honestly I think the drop is more on participation then DPS.

This thread made me lol. So many people vehemently spouting off opinions as if they are facts. I'll just leave this here...
    Source: PTS patch notes v2.6.0
    Combat & Gameplay
    General
In order to get loot and XP credit for killing a mob, you now only need to deal 3% of its maximum health instead of the previous 10%.
So in the case of Molags Balls, for example, only 12 people currently get loot. The first 10 players to deal 10% of the bosses health, and the top 2 healers.

@UltimaJoe777 , after One Tamriel drops many more players should receive loot from a world boss kill. :)

I don't know what the current requirement is but it's very limiting. Feels like 15% or 20% or so honestly. Make it so you need to do at least 5% of their max Health so everyone has a proper chance to get loot for helping vs bosses.

read the pts patch notes, you are good.

In case some are unaware I made this thread before Update 12 went live on PTS and/or we got the netch poots for it. The info pointed out before I got around to reading it is appreciated though but just thought I'd clear that up :)

    This is false.

I get loot about 90% of the time on every world boss in Wrothgar, regardless of the size of the group - with my tank that does about 3k DPS. :|

this! I have been AFK or dead for boss fights and still got loot. I have been dealing damage the entire time and NOT gotten loot in a group of 8. I don't think it matters how much damage you do, it seems random. But since ZOS is ever silent about game mechanics no one knows for sure, and we get threads like this asking for a rework of mechanics that no one understands in the first place.
If ZOS would only make a statement the debates would end.

They already did a year ago when I released. It was designed that way to encourage competition. They did not count on there CP system being so damn exploitable to alow people to get massive amounts of CP and become unkillable gods. Was in a group two days ago with some one who had over 1500 CP in IC. He wiped the floor killing 9 DC while we continued killing bal when they cane through the DC entrance. They could not even damage him. As far as the loot goes. It's based of the best groups dps. If your the only 12 man there it's all good. If your in a large 16 man group the top 12 get loot, if there is multiple large groups the top 12 of the top group get the loot.

do you have a link for that please for when they said that? I do not see anything in Patch Notes for IC

It was a Community manager response to a thread reguarding this very issue at Launch of IC massive groups were going into Sewers and running giant zergs people thought it was a broken aspect of the game and threads popped up all over the place. Master weapons were dropping from Molag and people were freaking the hell out that they were not getting loot.

The community manager came in to the thread and answered the question as the information was handed to them by the development team. im not gonna dig through the threads to find it. why do you think so many groups capped them selves at 12 people at the start of the event. this primarily why i quit at the release of this Patch after playing it two weeks. All i am trying to do is answer the question but you do not like the answer, so hell i could give two ***. join a large group go idle and see if any bodies are glowing.
