    All of them, particularly world bosses. As Wollust pointed out, if too many people fight them at once then you pretty much either DPS hardcore, heal significantly, or get nothing.

    This is the annoying part of liking to play as a tank, there just isn't much incentive, apart from being able to pick up a run of a dungeon easier than most. The rest of the time you use that character it just isn't optimal, although you can load up on damage-dealing gear, my problem is once I get my suit on I really hate changing it. I'm hoping the housing system will involve a means of hanging your gear for quick skill/gear swaps. I realize there are addons that do this, and addons are so unreliable. I am starting to get stream of consciousness here, but I really wish major addons that had a lot of popularity would be considered for being included in the game. I can understand why the Skyshard/Lorebook addon doesn't come with the game, but there are plenty of other excellent quality of life addons that are worth their consideration.

    I could be wrong and someone might of said this already but I think if you take a crap ton of damage you get loot also.

    Ok was seeing myself struggling @ molag bal, sewers but then i realized to change my skills, gear to do more damage and now i am getting 7/10 drops.

    So i am happy the way ZOS design loot drops from boss, sometime we should have situation like this for improvement..

    I don't know what the current requirement is but it's very limiting. Feels like 15% or 20% or so honestly. Make it so you need to do at least 5% of their max Health so everyone has a proper chance to get loot for helping vs bosses.

    fyi its not a set % of the boss's health,
    only max 12 people get loot from a mob, so u have to do enough damage to get into the top 12, get guud

    this! I have been AFK or dead for boss fights and still got loot. I have been dealing damage the entire time and NOT gotten loot in a group of 8.     Then increase the respawn rate and add a substantial loot cooldown. This way the boss is up more, but it won't be the same people killing the boss over and over again.

    But, yes, that's the annoying thing about non-instanced content. And why I typically avoid overworld crap.
    If you increase the boss respawn then the same group that hogged all the rewards will stick around to farm the boss, even if the loot is reduced.

    They should just give loot to everyone that participates...with rng there's a strong chance that you'll just get garbage anyway so what harm is there in giving everyone a chance at trash?

    The source was Zos themselves a year ago,they said they were trying to encourage competition 12 months ago there were several threads on this. If your a tank in a 14 man group . You do not get loot. If your the third heal in 13 man group doing the least heals you do not get loot. It was explained to me by some of the best meta PvP players . You see I'm primarily a pve tank. I was told if I wanted to get loot or have a chance at skin to go re spec my CP and put together a dps rotation. It's why no one runs a tank in sewers . Also if you have 3 12 man groups running the group with highest dps on the mob receives loot. You were getting loot idle because your group Was either only group there or was tagging the mob with a higher damage . If 50 people are fighting molar all solo only the 12 highest damage doers get drops.this discussion was had 12 months ago at release and Zos explained the system, when the community pointed out the flaw with tanks and healers they said they were working on a fix, and ............... just like everything else they ignore until people forget about it.

They did not count on there CP system being so damn exploitable to alow people to get massive amounts of CP and become unkillable gods. Was in a group two days ago with some one who had over 1500 CP in IC. He wiped the floor killing 9 DC while we continued killing bal when they cane through the DC entrance. They could not even damage him. As far as the loot goes. It's based of the best groups dps. If your the only 12 man there it's all good. If your in a large 16 man group the top 12 get loot, if there is multiple large groups the top 12 of the top group get the loot.

    People keep saying that it's the top dps/healers.. but no one has actually confirmed this.. it could just as well be randomly generated

    It is in part randomly generated, as a matter of fact. If 13 people fight Molag Bal in the sewers, only 12 get loot. The one not getting anything is NOT the one doing least dps/hps. But you see a difference when farming mats and trophies in the sewers - the dds and healers will get more loot than tankier characters with less dps/hps. Of course you only see that difference in smaller groups, when zerging around with 12+, you have to be lucky to score a hit on any NPC.

    This has been a problem since Orsinium where we really got bosses that you couldn't solo.

    It made sense for the old system but it needs tuned up for the new one.

    There's a difference between "can't solo" and a group of more than 12 people, though.

    There are not many occasions where people will form groups larger than 12 outside of PvP, so it's not that much of an issue really.

    Damage in should be a factor to help tanks. Pretty basic damage out , healing out , damage in for scoring.

    That's what I mean, the system worked when there were not alot of people fighting these things, and the health was much lower. It's an outdated system.

    It -sort- of is.

    There''s a certain ammount of damage required in order to get loot from a worldboss. Keep in mind, in the case of two GROUPS of players, the group that does the most damage will get loot, and any others will not.

    Ok since some people seem to be misunderstanding the purpose of this thread allow me to clarify:

    This is not about Molag Bal

    But I can understand if people think it is. It's an in-general thread, not just Molag Bal. In fact if anything Knight Commander Panthius spurred me to make this thread. It's not solely about him either, though.

    How many times in a row did you fight him? I usually stop getting drops after the 3rd or 4th time and it has nothing to do with my DPS. My guy shoots 40k lasers in PVE no problem.

    I completely disagree that the debates would END, but they sure would be based on better information.

    ZoS does like to keep many things a mystery - even if it makes more sense to come out with the information. Perhaps they are concerned that if we knew the mechanics, we would exploit the mechanics - a very valid concern in my opinion.

    A link would be great yeah.. I honestly don't believe it before I hear/read it..I have done several tests in the last few days.. Did 8 arena rounds, solo, with 12+ people in there.. I got loot in 7 of those rounds, while just putting in 2-3 light hits on the boss

    yeah you are probably right, it would not end. This is a forum after all, and everyone thinks they know best. And yes, I think you are right about the reason they keep it on the DL too

    I see nobody saying it here, so I should really bring this up... In the PTS 2.6.0 Patch Notes, at one point it states the damage required to get loot and XP credit from a mob has been reduced to 3% from 10%, so there you go. No doubt to try accommodate the influx of players trying to grind in every zone thanks to removal of alliance restrictions in PvE...

    I've been farming Panthius often lately to get Order of the Hour chapters. My Damagers and Healer can get loot pretty easily as well as my main, and perhaps my Werewolf. The rest have trouble though, especially my Lv38 Vampire that runs a DoT-based build. Whenever there is a crowd and the boss' health is dropping fast my alts that are not pure DPS builds or heal the crowd tend to miss out.
