Why is the best counter vs stealth/invis a nightblade skill

I mean seriously, you guys just had to give mark target that prevents stealth/invis to another nightblade. Ironic.

Volatile armor on DK, both mag or stam, Hurricane on stam sorc, Curse on mag sorc, Ritual of Retribution on templar (both mag and stam).

Caltrops on every stam build otherwise. You really don't need much more than that, considering how Cloak is buggy af.

If you're a temp and have an idea where they could be hiding just spam luminous shard, Sorc use hurricane, And dragon idk cause I've never played a dragonknight and have no clue what their abilities are lol

We DKs use to have a skill called Flames of Oblivion but they took it from us and gave sorcs a version of the skill while giving us a mage light re-skin....

That's not necessarily the best counter, hurricane on stam sorc works really well also.

when game 1st launched on console i thought the exact same thing as the OP

but as others have pointed out some class skills have been changed/improved so they now bring people out of stealth (even if their descripion /tooltip doesnt make a note of it),
detect has been added to both morphs of magelight & hunter (mages guild & fighters guild skills)
caltrops and flare are easier to aquire
and not forgetting detect potions & poisons of reveal (i think they are called)

and of course cloak is bugged

there are now plently of counters to nightblades & you only need to choose 1, unless you really really hate nightblades, then by all means fill your bars/poison/potion slots with skills/utilities and make their lives a missery!

Expert Hunter and Magelight are solid options as well. There are also craftable reveal potions.

Hurricane is good true, but its still a close proximity skill. The only skill that effectively makes a nightblade loose their ability to hide from a large distance is still mark target skill. Especially if ur in a group and a nb is trying to burst dps ur group in a 1vx, one mark on the guy pretty much stops him from escaping.

Seriously, unless it's one of those stam dodge shuffle eternal hunt sprint for the rocks or trees nb's, you should be able to do the business in 15 seconds. Highly mobile AoE like hurricane or magelight on a bolting sorc is good too.

Dyzziying Swing will knock them out of stealth...well if you have started the animation right before they got into stealth.

Bloody expensive skill and has a small proximity. In every instance there is no direct counter to nb stealth, everything has a small proximity. So the nb gets the advantage of first strike.

They do have the only class skill yes but lets not forget that purge is available to everyone.

Starting to think OP just has it in for NBs... That said consider the fact that all the counters people are mentioning effect more than 1 enemy while Piercing Mark is only allowed to hit 1 person per user. Also I disagree with this:
