Best way to get AP is the welfare way

At the moment, I have no life, whatever. I'm actually in PvP to play PvP, not for ap. That's just an added bonus, just like skill points when I level my PvP skills up. I love to PvP, getting magic det will only make it better. But I truly don't know how people get that much Ap. I played 26 straight hours trying to get empress, got 345,00+ ap in 7 days. That's playing my tail end off, someone please tell me how to get more

345k in a week? Thats insanely low. I played semi casually past week and gained 1.1 million. U must be running away from defensive/offensive ticks.

Anybody got a group? LFG, anybody? Hello?

Do campaigns make a difference? Would I earn more AP if I joined a Vet campaign instead of a non-vet one?

Not trying to be mean but if you got that amount in 7 days that is very bad, you can get that in one play through. Even if you're not great at getting ap you should have more than that after 7 days.

What type of campaign do you play in? Run in groups & if so do they know how to get ap?

Well it took 6 weeks but im literally a couple hours of game time from mag det. Now ill be able to play pvp the way I enjoy, and not have to deal with zergfest and lagfest.

Also to the guy who booted me out of a guild over this thread, GFY. Its not even your guild. And despite the way you stalk me on the internet, you couldn't even discern this entire thread was to psychologically influence ZoS. The OP isnt even accurate or true. Out of the 1.6 million AP I've earned, less than 1% has been earned from idleing. So yeah GFY clown.

Do you not enjoy using hyperbole to subtly influence a company? Have you never handwritten a letter to a company and received free vouchers in the mail? Have you never seen social media movements become so large, the company was compelled to give in? Nobody likes the AP skill grind. ZoS needs to hear different creative ways to express that, since "alliance rank grind is too long" starts to go in one ear and out the other. My instruction to GFY to the low level officer who booted me from the guild remains. I have a history of using my 9-trait crafting skills for free for my guild members. Giving them gold, potions, food, v16 materials, FOR FREE. But now those members will never benefit from those perks because "dont leech ap from muh guild!" GFY

Oh and apparently the real secret of the emperors is to have a guild willing to abandon the keep letting you soak up the entire tick. I can't be so lucky.

Just type in /yell "To the mine!" after successful defense :p

If I had 10 AP for every time I told folks to "go push EP back to Alessia bridge" after killing them at the front door of the keep.......I would still have a bunch cause AD would do it anyways

How is it possible to get 1.6 mil AP in a little over a week? Thats insane! It takes me like 2 hours just to get 8k.

I'm in the same boat as this guy. maybe that is because I join the big groups that take keeps and then go to attack something else. i even try healing like people advise. guess I need to not follow the army and stay at the keep.

After a keep take, when do the d-ticks tick?

I'm seriously doing something wrong in my 2 hours play time per day.

The first time getting to assualt 7 can be rough, especially if you aren't "taught" how to play in PvP, or good ways to get AP.

But once you know how it's not terrible.

I'm not quite got assault to 7 yet. No one has taught me play PvP. I just run with the group and do what everyone else does. Help a sister out.

best AP (and its debatable) I have found for the casual / solo / duo / less than 4-in-a-group style play has been taking resources. My wife and I spend most of our week ganking and doing small scale fights, then run with our guild of 16-24 players on weekends typically.

So this would be our scenario: We get the "take X resource" quest in enemy territory. We go to said resource, take it, then wait. We will stealth up, wait for the 2-3 enemy players to show up to "try and take it back" , kill them with aid of the guards, then collect our D-tick.

Since its only 2 of us usually, we are...
    1. guaranteed our AP from a resource quest
    2. guaranteed about 2k in AP from the few players coming to try and retake the resource
    3. then a sizeable D-tick split between only the two of us. (I remember a ~950ap D-tick once after killing one guy solo on a resource he was trying to take from us. Wife and I got a ~3k D-tick from killing 3-4 people on the resource so you can see how it escalates from there)

this would be best case scenario because if its just the two of us and 15 people rush the resource, we are not gonna stick around to try and prove our potato-ness!

Running with the AD pugs back and forth from alessia bridge to sej and back and just healing everything can net you AP, but its split between everyone who aided in killing the 1 enemy player....so 950 AP split 40-50 ways isn't very much.

EDIT: not including riding time, this process could take about ~10 minutes based on how fast enemies show up.

I wish zos would just give all you pve'ers your skills and stuff you want for nothing so you dont come to forums crying all time.

At least dont put the two best stamina skills at level 5 and 6 and the best magicka skill at level 7. Out of all the advantages stamina has over magicka, that's the single thing that irks me.

What a short memory this one has, I remover a very recent day when vigor was at the bottom of the assault tree.

Agreed, seeing this more and more the longer I play solo seems like the more AP I get from kills and doing objectives myself. And yeah what Morozov said about doing his method solo-- as one already doing more of that. Yes, you can do a lot of things solo and make great AP. Staying alive is really the tricky part, but I believe I am well on my way to mastering it.

Zos doesn't want you to grind for anything, you get the skills when you get them.

If your not enjoying pvp then getting magicka det isn't going to suddenly make it better.

Also... 200 hours for 1.6m ap... is 8k ap an hour? Pretty sure i get defence/offence ticks near that range.

Also go into a quest campaign or find a dueling guild or such if you want to 1v1.

For some people, getting proxy det means never again setting foot in pvp. So for those people OT does get better.

Why would you even need proxy det if not for pvp?

PvE especially malestorm why would you need caltrops or vigor outside of PvP? Same answer.

I'm not sure what class you play but there are probably better ways to increase your dps than prox det. It's great in pvp but I never see anyone use it outside of that.

Keep trying! It's reallly easy to do on my Templar. But very tricky for my NB. You have to have a different rotation of moves to use against the NPCs. And obviously prioritize killing the Mage Guard/ Healers over the Melee ones.

where was the resource you captured? was it at a keep that was up against their edge of transit? if so its no wonder thy all came a runnin' cause they had no where else to go and thought their territory was about to be offensively pushed on.

When I do it I usually try and take a resource further in enemy territory (unless they are pushed back to their last three keeps. Usually the "map control" centered players are fighting on the front line. I find that solo players and PVE'rs are typically the ones who come back to claim resources deep within their territory. A PVP guild with a goal in mind wont bother to take a resource back unless it is at a keep they are trying to siege, or if they are setting up a tower farm or if they have it in good authority that another PVP guild is trying to backdoor a keep.

edit: or you could have just had the luck that a PVP guild was not that busy and decided to have some fun ;P
