Best way to get AP is the welfare way

I'm trapped in a 30 day campaign that was won on the first day by no-life blues. Its impossible to find good 1v1 battles in there, even the NB and sorcs are rolling 2-3 deep at all times.

So I just crouch in the corner of a keep, watch television, and keep flicking my joystick every ten minutes. I let my guild, or even just random people, fight off a zerg and earn me d-ticks.

ZoS wants us to grind 200 hours for a single skill (magicka det). This is almost four times longer than my Skyrim play through. In the time it takes to unlock magicka det, you could play Oblivion, Skyrim, and the entire Mass Effect trilogy from start to finish.

I ain't about dat life.

Zos doesn't want you to grind for anything, you get the skills when you get them.

If your not enjoying pvp then getting magicka det isn't going to suddenly make it better.

Also... 200 hours for 1.6m ap... is 8k ap an hour? Pretty sure i get defence/offence ticks near that range.

Also go into a quest campaign or find a dueling guild or such if you want to 1v1.

For some people, getting proxy det means never again setting foot in pvp. So for those people OT does get better.

Yeah I only mess with keeps to get the AP. Once I get M.D. im only going to pvp occasionally in the sewers. I just dont like what Daggerfall did to Azuras, and the lag favors Snipe spammers.

Of course its no-life to win a 30 day campaign on the first day. Blue's 10th ranked player has more AP than the red and yellow emps.
Watching a Cleveland Cavaliers game while I bank free AP is not no-life, its rejecting a broken system. The most powerful spell for my build is locked behind 200 hours of the type of pvp im not interested in. And yeah 8-10k an hour is about what i pull even when im running with a zerg killing people.

Calling players no lifers is ridiculous. You are clearly playing aganst pvp players and not pve players. Thats like calling someone a no lifer if they only play pve and role play.

PvE especially malestorm why would you need caltrops or vigor outside of PvP? Same answer.

1.6 million honestly isn't much at all, you will probably make more then 8k/h by spamming rapid regen.

I just wanna jump in here and say one little thing the OP may not understand. Let me define "No Life" as you so put it:

1. Playing any video game at all for any period of time means you have no life for said amount of time.

2. Browsing the Internet means you have no life for the said amount of time you are browsing.

3. Finding the time to post on a forum to tell other people they have no life.

4. Watching a Cleveland Cavaliers game while you cheat your way to 1.6m AP.....also means you have no life.

On my Dk I got Grand Overlord after 149 days of playtime. So even if I would have spent all that time in pvp and would've never been in PvE, standing around afk, talking to people, etc. I would be at an average of 17k ap/h.

Don't be! Try your guest campaign, or set a different home after the requisite time period. Your AP, gained anywhere, counts toward your magicka det goal. All that happens if you get AP outside your home campaign is it doesn't count toward campaign ranks (and rewards), which are a bit meaningless and pants anyway.

prox det is an amazing skill in pvp, can hit for 40k plus

Oh trust me, I have no life. I take anxiety meds and i'm terribly anti-social. But I enjoy using that phrase on other people because its such a powerful term, as evidenced by the responses.

But I insist 1.6M is a lot. A whole 10 hour marathon pvp session, zerg fights, o-ticks and d-ticks will pull me 100k ap. That equates to 160 hours over 16 days. Thats unreal and unhealthy if you just want one spell.

At least dont put the two best stamina skills at level 5 and 6 and the best magicka skill at level 7. Out of all the advantages stamina has over magicka, that's the single thing that irks me.

Ridiculous.... I have 5 of my toons with prox det never took me more than a week to get prox... Ever with a group. Even my Stam builds have prox which I occasionally use. Playing solo in a mmo is silly and not needed. If you think magic det will make a player who who really does not try into an op azz kicker you are in for a brutal wake up call. I earned two of my prox dets when they were at the end of the skill line where they should still be. Making things easy for ppl will be the death of this game, Care Bears will come and be off to the next game in the blink of the eye. All I can say is... can I have your stuff?
Get in the fight learn to play your toon... You want prox you don't need prox. It will not make you a good player.

I have proxy on two chars now OP (Centurion and First Sergeant) and it honestly didn't take that long. I just played PVP like normal and stayed for every D-tick I could. D-tick's at resources are gold mines, people like to ride off after a large battle at a resource for whatever reason leaving all that AP for yourself.

They don't want you to grind though, they don'y want you to level grind hence the silver/gold quest zones. They wan't you to explore everywhere and get fight/mages guild 10 naturally. etc...

Except I did all that. Ive done well over 1,200 unique quests, but I don't have the exact number because the achievement stops counting after 1,000. Every icon on my global map is white. All my skills are maxed out except alliance war.

How is it possible to get 1.6 mil AP in a little over a week? Thats insane! It takes me like 2 hours just to get 8k.

Well if you don't enjoy pvp don't play it, looking at it as a grind is playing pvp for all the wrong reasons.

I got 430k ap yesterday, it's more so a learn how to get ap issue.
