R.I.P. EU Megaserver

    Off topic slightly but I had an utter nightmare with VM last year. They suspected a fault in my hub was causing a fault on the wider network somehow. So they just disconnected me. Without telling me. Or leaving a card or any other normal polite thing. When I rang the call centre they didn't actually know anything about it. I only found out what had actually happened when I saw my neighbour and they mentioned an engineer had been in the area and had been overheard saying they didn't have customers at this address. I then e-mailed the CEO's office to find out what the dickens was going on while also going ballistic at them on FB and twitter. Took another five days before they got an engineer out to restore my wrongly disconnected service.

    Anyway this week I had no net on Sunday morning and no net last night. I assume they are up to something but it would be nice to be told if they plan on disconnecting the service for any planned reason - especially on guild fishing night!!!

    Here's hoping they won't be tinkering with things at the weekend ...

    I really loved VM as an ISP. Sad we had to move as they don't cover the area we're living now. However, their service is terrible. 5 months after we joined I run a speedtest and saw we're only getting 10 instead of the promised 50mb. Called them and went through almost 50 minutes of "trouble shooting" just to find out they provided a router that wasn't able to handle anything of 10+ speed.
    Overall, good product terrible customer service. Kind of reminds me of some other customer service with a good product or . . . game.

    I noticed that UK guild mates on Virgin Media, my ISP too, were completely unaffected last night.

    I hardly ever get any issues on Virgin Media to be honest (maybe because I'm on the top bundle? :/ ) Can't fault the service I'm given personally.

    Same here. I used to have a lot of problems with them in the old ntl days but it's fine these days. Mind you, I'm still using the old-style ntl 250 modem rather than the unreliable super hub which probably accounts for it! I could get a faster speed but don't need it and I'm very much of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school. I didn't have any performance problems on the PC EU server last evening, and haven't any significant issues at all since launch (although I don't PvP).

    I'm on the superhub. No problems in either pvp OR pve last night, which confuses me if it was a DDoS that hit the EU megaserver/datacentre....Surely that would of knocked everyone off, regardless of ISP? :/

    Not at all, was perfectly normal for me. I was in a group for Sanctum which we had to abandon because some had ridiculous ping, and some were fine, me included.

    DDoS attack... Didn't honestly expect that. And here all these people were bashing Zenimax just because they are fashioned to attack Zenimax the moment something goes wrong... I'd say you people owe them an apology, but I know you won't give one. I'd say more, but clearly Gina has displayed that when people bash Zenimax they just shrug it off. Way to go everyone, Zenimax is hardened by all the blaming to not give a damn about your pointless bashing!

    Last night i was one bashing - well not really, but complaining at least - and afterwards i did think about the ppl at Zenimax, how it must suck when so many strangers complain (or worse) at the job you do in the best way you can - i really hope they're pro's that don't really get bothered by it personally and do shrug it off as the Gina person says.

    Apologies are surely in order from some, issues like this really brings out the worst in too many, but really - in a game that from start is missing so many functions you really should get by default in an mmo, a game with bugs that never seem to get fixed, a game that runs so much worse after they put that IC DLC in, a one way game which gives you 2 options if you want to get somewhere, to farm continuously or buy Crowns - if you still really like this game a lot, and it's important to you, and then comes a long maintenance with hardware updates and whatnot, and the only change you get from it is lotsa lag and crashing.... i really see nothing strange in ppl feeling they've really had it then, and get upset.

    But sure, so it wasn't some bad updating causing problems last night, maybe it was a DDoS attack and yesterdays whimpering from all of us was totally uncalled for, then i'll gladly apologize for being a whinebag accusing the wrong crowd last night - sorry, my bad! See, got one from me! Now i just hope that they get the game running smoother, so my first thougt if there are future problems will be that it's because of my PC or my ISP or something, instead of immediatly thinking it's a new bug in the game.

    I was fine last night but we had 2 that kept crashing and another that lost all chat channels.
