    Plus Shields are getting nerfed relative to damage and healing ward in particular is getting double-nerfed.

    Shields are not getting nerfed in any way. If shields are 30% weaker, but damage is 30% weaker as well, then you can hardly call it a nerf, it's just an adjustment. All shields and healing spells will offer the exact same survivability as before. Except Strife will get weaker, because of how it's calculated.

    R.I.P. Strife.

    I am hoping they thought about strife and are doing something to make up for how useless it would become after this change....

    I'd be surprised if they did though.

    the current reductions are applied seperatly(regarding my testing) - do not think they will entirly change their calculation to break strife and funnel on purpose...
    this means
    1. step dmg calculation (including pierce, defense, stats etc) = B(ase)DMG
    2. step calculate healing based on BDMG = B-Healing
    3. aply dmg to target -> BDGMG - pvp dmg reduction = effective dmg
    4. aply healing -> b-HEAL - pvp reduction =effective healing
    otherwise both spells would allready heal much less copared to pve values than it does as dmg and healing reductions are allready active, only the numbers change with 1.7.

    With the 50% nerf to burst damage it should mean that the classes that uses bow got utterly destroyed in next patch.
    There is not al full list of the Changes so Everything is just speculations.

    Well, no specific skill got nerfed, but the TTK (Time To Kill) is increased this way, so classes who rely on killing someone fast and then disappearing again, will certainly have to change their build to be more durable and last for a slightly longer fight. People will have more time to react to burst damage now. Which makes the game more fun for almost everyone, except for people who relied on one-shot killing their victims.

    No one likes getting one-shot killed, so this change will be a large improvement, it's about a 30% nerf to damage compared to what it is now, so I don't know it will have too gigantic an impact, just some bursters having to build for more health sustain.

    This change does not make resource management any harder.
    Killing bad players will take longer, killing good players will be all but impossible.
    This change is a weird band aid fix that actually happens to largely increase a problem that was invented with 1.6.

    But what am I talking, if someone doesn't think so at this point, he'll probably won't until he experiences the changes himself.

    I agree with that, ZOS is all about simple band aid fixes that solve nothing but only create different problems. Battle Spirit penalties, block penalties, dodge roll penalties, Bolt Escape penalties.. none of those solve anything, and all they do is create more and different problems and imbalances, all of which reduce the fun factor of the gameplay.

    It's like they're thinking the solution to any problem is to slap some kind of penalty on it.

    Couldn't agree more.

    @Zsymon

    I don't just pull things out of my rear and serve them up for you on the forums. Shields are getting nerfed more than damage.

    Currently shields have a 15% nerf, Damage has a 20% nerf. Both are being nerfed to 50% which means that Damage shields are going to be just under 5% weaker relative to damage than they are today.

    Furthermore relative to how it functions today the healing from Healing ward is getting a 75% nerf. First the Shield value is being reduced by 41% then the healing amount is being reduced by 41% meaning it is going to now heal you for ~25% of what it is healing you today.

    These impacts healing ward and any other healing ability based upon damage far worse than anything else.

    Same thing with Blazing Shield. Damage that scales off shield value, that is getting nerved, and then the damage is also getting reduced.

    I also hope they have a small list of these "double Nerf" scenarios and are going to address them.

    Does it take to change a lightbulb?

    Sorry... just saw the thread title and was slightly sleep deprived ..... <walks away sheepishly>
    Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
    Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
    Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
    Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

    Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
    House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
    Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
