    So the double damage that the champion system will enable people to do has nothing to do with people getting hit for lots of damage by other players?

    Lets take a look at the recap again before we cry l2p shall we ?

    1. the author was attacked by at least 2 people
    2. The snipe damage exceeds 21k -> stealth snipe
    3. The author got hit by a 4k DB and a 5k WB implying he is either blocking or has bery high armor or shieldclipped both those attacks (lets go with he was blocking)

    The above shows to us that the author got sniped out of stealth while fighting against another player whose attacks he probably blocked till he was out of stamina ( unmitigated snipe). If you would be so kind to show me a way of finding the sniper in that situation AND bashing him that doesnt involve being a super awesome demigod please enlighten me. Oterwise please use your head and think about the situation presented to you before commenting.

    Unlike magickal damage, the CP system offers little to mitigate physical hits. The only thing you can do is increase your armor by a percentage, which is borderline useless for light armor wearers and only moderately helpful in medium. With magicka damage, you can decrease it by a straight percentage, and match whatever your attacker has invested in his attack perks.

    It's a very strange oversight.

    OOo protip, pls tell me how to interrupt a focused aim coming at me while im fighting 2 others? ( a nice fight I might add up until this arrow) He is standing about 30-40 yards from me in stealth, just as a sidenote.

    I would like to remind people (myself included) that this thread (as i understand it) is not about snipe per se but rather about the ridiculous balance issuses (especially concerning magica/stamina balance) presented by the Champoin system for PvP.

    you can see, the FA damage is from another player. not easy to interrupt with the FA was shot from stealth.
    the correct l2p response here would be to either block, have sheilds up, or dodge more frequently depending on the build.

    Still, I don't think that changes the fact that 21k can be really annoying (you cannot avoid 100% of those hits no matter how well you play) and that 19k vs 22k damage depending on CP makes a hell of a difference if so many players like to go with 21-25k health in total

    I ran into the said player yesterday, all he does is try to one shot people. Yes there is the arguement that he has to center his build around it but i believe no-one should have the power to deal nearly 100% of a HP pool with one ability. Either bring HP pools back to what they were, 1.5x that of mana/stam i believe, or give people a nirnhoned equivalent of physical resistance.

    How do you interrupt someone standing 40-50+ meters away in stealth, while busy fighting another player lol. Please teach us.

    You just magically reveal the guy and than fly 40 meters in the right direction with your imaginary Marvel Hero gap closer and bash a bit?

    Snipe is even outside of detection potion range. Audio is the only thing you have to go on. Which sort of sucks for us that cant listen to roars, grunts and clanging weapons on max volume, for different and usually irl related reasons. But that's another topic.

    I come with magicka Sorc, have a few fights against new or squishy players, start a fight against a good player with magicka build.
    There's not even a real incentive to actually try and do as well as you can, it just means the fight will indeed never end.
    But we can have a stam Sorc duel if you like. :p

    Can we just replace the snipe sound queue to overdramatized incoming mortar fire. That'll be easy to recognize.

    Snipe has been OP since the "first" major buff in August. That as good as nothing has been done, is a proof of their lack of understanding of "battle mechanics". If you, then, also add all the goodies that were given to stamina, items, etc. etc. (the list is very long) and you see how the CP further buff stamina builds, you should stop playing.. really :-( And if nothing will be done with the next patch, not just the nirn-thing needs to be adjusted, you will see pc player rates dropping, a thing which is already noticeable.
    Console gamers will still play a while but even them will start to wonder, at some point.

    So really this has nothing to do with CP...

    The OP was already in melee with an enemy and an opportunistic player took advantage. This happens all the time, and would have happened if the sniper had hit him for less since OP had already taken at least 12,816 damage at that point.

    Whats the difference between this and some one sneaking up behind him with a wrecking blow, or a templar hitting him with the old Jesus beam? It has nothing to do with Focused Aim either...

    IMHO this is just part of PvP. You win some, you lose some, and from what I can tell it doesn't look like anybody exploited any thing so moving on...

    I tried to sort of dive toward my opponent , go into a roll and then come up blocking with my head but it didn't seem to work.

    Yeah this type of gameplay needs to be discouraged. They will be buffing healthpools for PvP players in a future patch, but something like a passive 15% damage decrease for all players would be awesome as well.

    Honestly I am still amazed that Game Dev still have issues trying to balance ablities between pve and pvp. Sony wayyy back in 2000 15 years ago had fixed the balance between pve and pvp.

    The way they balanced damage/ablities, was that all spells and damage worked unchanged in pve encounters, but when you enterned a pvp encounter spells were altered so that charm wouldn`t work on other players,

    and damage spells and melee damage was set at you could not do more than 75 % of a persons total HP with one attk, so a spell in pve that would do normally 1200 damage was caped at 800 damage in pvp but still did 1200 in pve as an example.

    Yet still Game Devs instead of try their approach, just nerf ablities across the board.

    Yet they failed completely in EQ 2 . I played on Nagafen for years and loved that game more than any of over 30 mmo's I've played during the last 10 years. SOE put a lot of money in to that game and then destroyed it in the end.

    The point where most of us left was when raid guilds were farming epic weapons that average size guilds or solo players could never get . They pretty much rolled and one shot everything in their path. Adding a cash shop was the last nail in the EQ 2 coffin.

    Looking at the entire recap explains why this is normal. The point of an assassin type is to assassinate. The 21K is obviously from stealth and basically un-mitigated damage.
