It already prevents gap closers, it prevents use of the DK dragon leap ULTIMATE, it should damn well prevent bolt escape.
All a sorc needs to do to get away from an attacker is to immobilize them (which sorcs have multiple ways of doing) and while the attacker dodge rolls to counter... sorc is gone.

I think bolt escape needs a nerf, but I'm not sure I agree with that idea. Though I know how annoying it is on dragon leap. I think snares decreasing the distance covered would be a better suggestion
Doesn't prevent ambush. Really thought that one through, didn't you?It already prevents gap closers, it prevents use of the DK dragon leap ULTIMATE, it should damn well prevent bolt escape.
Meanwhile all a stam build needs to do is roll roll vigor and a Sorc will never kill him. NBs can just double take + bow dodge roll sprint away into the horizon and travel faster than a horse. Or, even better yet, just gap close the fleeing sorc and dodge tank anytime he tries to turn and fight. All a sorc needs to do to get away from an attacker is to immobilize them (which sorcs have multiple ways of doing) and while the attacker dodge rolls to counter... sorc is gone.

Isn't it amazing when you look at the various counterplays instead of just pretending nothing else exists?
Yes pleaseRemove the double CC effect of fossilize first.
Found that out with my non-vet sorc. Its very easy to die bolt escaping
Checkfrom one fight into another,
Checkoff a building,
Checkoff a cliff,
Checkdown stairs.
All a sorc needs to do to get away from an attacker is to immobilize them (which sorcs have multiple ways of doing)
All the attacker has to do is prevent the sorc from CC'ing them, which every attacker has several ways of doing.
Given how predictable it is that a sorc will bolt from melee range, you should be able to work out an attack pattern that works. It may involve slight changes to what you currently do.

Bolt Escape has been nerfed numerous times, it defines the class for petes sake.
Dk have Scales
Templar have Blazing Shield
Nightblades have Cloak
Sorcs have Bolt Escape
All equally powerful, with cloak getting a boost so detect pots dont work against it.
Can we please just leave it alone, everyone of those abilities are as good as bolt escape in their own way, stop calling for nerfs to everything all the time it gets old.
"Several ways"...the only way I know of to prevent a root is rapid... or a dodge roll. It's something you need to counter with a dodge roll or purge.
People have been over this a thousand times.
Every class has either an escape ability or sustained in combat survivability. Sorcs are squishy, that's why they can escape. Its tactical. And is not easy either. Its very easy to die bolt escaping from one fight into another, off a building, off a cliff, down stairs. It requires skill to execute correctly.

The only ways you know to prevent yourself being CC'd are dodge roll or rapid? We may have identified the issue.
So many players' tactics boil down to a burst-damage rotation. When that doesn't work, they're left with "it's impossible to kill X." I believe the most important thing to learn in TESO PvP is how and when to apply and avoid CC. There are quite a lot of ways to accomplish both.

............
It doesn't sound like you know the difference between the different types of CC in this game.
I think it's very sad that you're making such comments while being ignorant of game mechanics.

Bolt Escape hasn't been an unblockable disorient for some time. That was pretty powerful. Now, it's a 1.5 to 2 second stun.
How did this go from talking about immobilize to....this..

Of course, I also don;t see the logic how someone slotting immovable should prevent another play from using a gap closer ability of something like Ferocious Leap as the OP claims. All player abilities should fire off, with any stuns, knocks not affecting and immovable target.
