Immobilize should prevent bolt escape

It already prevents gap closers, it prevents use of the DK dragon leap ULTIMATE, it should damn well prevent bolt escape.

All a sorc needs to do to get away from an attacker is to immobilize them (which sorcs have multiple ways of doing) and while the attacker dodge rolls to counter... sorc is gone.

Ok, something useful would need to replace that effect though..

If nothing else, then they need to fix the root so that it's purgeable.

People have been over this a thousand times.

Every class has either an escape ability or sustained in combat survivability. Sorcs are squishy, that's why they can escape. Its tactical. And is not easy either. Its very easy to die bolt escaping from one fight into another, off a building, off a cliff, down stairs. It requires skill to execute correctly.

Bolt escape doesn't prevent using dragon leap. You have to time a roll dodge properly to avoid being hit by those.

Meanwhile all a stam build needs to do is roll roll vigor and a Sorc will never kill him. NBs can just double take + bow dodge roll sprint away into the horizon and travel faster than a horse. Or, even better yet, just gap close the fleeing sorc and dodge tank anytime he tries to turn and fight.

Isn't it amazing when you look at the various counterplays instead of just pretending nothing else exists?

Actually I did, notice I didn't say all gap closers. It doesn't prevent chains either, but chains does give CC immunity. I wanted to keep the OP simple. I think immobilize should prevent teleport strike as well.

Given how predictable it is that a sorc will bolt from melee range, you should be able to work out an attack pattern that works. It may involve slight changes to what you currently do.

Ambush is not a Gap Closer it's a Teleport.... you can't Crit Charge, Shield Assault, and the Templar charge can't not go up down a wall from the third floor of a keep and can't get stealth bonuses as you have a stand and run to use them ambush works under completely diffefent rules then any gap closer. Stealth bonus applies, no min distance, and no gound path needed just LoS it's in a league all it's own

That stam build can be slowed down with snares and roots, something that currently doesn't affect a bolt escape, but should.

Why does every thread have to be a Nerf sorc thread.

Bolt Escape has been nerfed numerous times, it defines the class for petes sake.

    Dk have Scales
    Templar have Blazing Shield
    Nightblades have Cloak
    Sorcs have Bolt Escape

All equally powerful, with cloak getting a boost so detect pots dont work against it.

Can we please just leave it alone, everyone of those abilities are as good as bolt escape in their own way, stop calling for nerfs to everything all the time it gets old.

People keep saying numerous times, it's been nerfed once that I remember, with the cost increase that doesn't seem to matter anymore. I'm not including the streak change, that's a morph, this is talking about the base ability.

Immobilize should do what it's supposed to do, and immobilize, requiring the target to wait it out or counter it with a dodge roll or purge.

This shouldn't just be for bolt escape, I would go ahead and change teleport strike to not work as well along with it preventing chains pulling to a target.

(also, lol @ "Templar have blazing shield")

So many players' tactics boil down to a burst-damage rotation. When that doesn't work, they're left with "it's impossible to kill X." I believe the most important thing to learn in TESO PvP is how and when to apply and avoid CC. There are quite a lot of ways to accomplish both.

In what world do you live in where sorcs are squishy? I can link you multiple videos of sorcs tanking 3 or 4 people at a time just by spamming shields. Sorcs use to be squishy, just like bolt escape use to be balanced with its cost

Then 1.6 came a long and completely changed that.

Well if you think about it. If you have to use roll dodge when you are immobilize then I think it is fair that you bolt escape can get out of it. Since it is a teleport dodge.

Bolt Escape hasn't been an unblockable disorient for some time. That was pretty powerful. Now, it's a 1.5 to 2 second stun.

How did this go from talking about immobilize to....this..

..and by the way, streak (not bolt escape) was only an unblockable disorient on the pts, before that (1.5) it was blockable, but it did not cause CC immunity because it was a disorient.

As others have pointed out, immobilize prevents "regular" movement...a sorcerer who bolt escapes still cannot move after teleporting. And I still don't agree with the logic that treats a teleport as walking or running.

Trying to figure out the logic how an ability like immovable would prevent another player from teleporting...nope, can't see it.

Of course, I also don;t see the logic how someone slotting immovable should prevent another play from using a gap closer ability of something like Ferocious Leap as the OP claims. All player abilities should fire off, with any stuns, knocks not affecting and immovable target.

    I don't know why I expected better, I shouldn't.

Its unbelievable people are still running around crying about bolt escape and sorcs in general. Its simple to beat a sorc if you are even half way built for it and are an at least decent player.

People complain, but then ignore a 12k crit charge or 15k+ WB or that crazy execute. Anything in this game is able to be countered as it should.

Trying to lessen the range of BE or make immobilize that OP is just nuts, and sounds like an L2P issue.
