Well, at one point all you heard is Sorcs are only good for dropping Negates.... ANNNNDDD... that's gone. Why has ZOS jumped to hating Sorcs? First NBs, then DKs... my advise... if you're a Templar... just reroll now man... you're next.

Oh, and why did you nerf the stealthing abilities with stealing? Isn't that the reason why NBs are UNIQUE? So instead of leveling a NB and having some fun there is no real difference between a Templar stealing and a NB... swing and a miss.

    Like the other changes though.

PVP kills no longer grant Ultimate.

is this combat frenzy or kills in general?

This is for PVP kills, in general. The Ultimate Combat Frenzy grants was reduced from 25 to 20 at Rank II.

There is a bug with all lorebooks in game.

When you are at Mages Guild Rank 10, whenever you pick up a new lorebook, it no longer says "Lorebook Discovered" in white text at the top of the screen.

Very interesting. Now lets talk about removing the crownstore from the game.

Can someone with a copied character from the EU server please let us know what *old* provisioning mats from Live are now selling to the vendor for?

They sell for the same value as before : 10 gold piece. You can buy less ingredients from grocers too,, at 150 gold.

Stealth abilities, such as Shadow Cloak, no longer prevent you from being witnessed while performing criminal acts.

What is stealth for than to keep you from being seen or witnessed? I think this is a bad idea on ZOS's part.

Not really...kinda bogus that Shadow Cloak could allow you to pick any barrel or unlock any container/door without risk.

    I never tried that.

I'm pretty confused so i hope someone can answer this. No ultimate gained from PvP means that you won't be able to use your ultimate in Cyrodiil unless you attack a NPC to build it up? And if so what is the point of that? Side note just to make sure it's still commented about .. Dueling, give us some damn dueling. Not that damn far fetched.

Kills no longer grant ultimate. However, you can still regen ultimate if you light attack.

    • Negate Magic: This Ultimate ability now removes enemy-placed effects when it is initially cast instead of constantly for the entire duration of the ability. Also, this ability’s cost has been reduced by 10%.

This Ultimate ability is no longer ultimate. I guess that's what we get for constantly whining how bad most Sorc skills are.

It's still an ultimate. It dispels any effects that were in the area when you drop it, and it keeps people inside of the area from activating any new magicka effects, plus whatever the other effects from the morph you choose.

Yes, it's less effective than it was before, but there were plenty of folks that felt Negate was too strong in that regard anyway as the only ultimate to trump all other ultimates. In case you haven't noticed they are reducing ultimate gain, which means ultimates are going to be more spaced out in usage. In the previous system, the excessive cancelling of not only existing ultimates, but also ALL OTHER ULTIMATES EXCEPT ANOTHER NEGATE was perhaps more viable because people built them up faster. With them being slower to generate, Zenimax is simply making a change to head off all the complaints that are going to happen when the only ultimate existing on the battlefield is going to be Negate.

I agree with you to a point. Negate was a strong ultimate and I am not surprised by this nerf but... I mean... come on... how do you NOT see a HUGE purple bubble on the ground? lol. I mean... IT'S FRIGGIN PURPLE... DODGE ROLL MAN!!! lol... just pulling your chain a bit.

I get what you mean about the purple bubble, but it's not always cut and dry. If any part of an ultimate cuts into part of the bubble, the entire ultimate is negated. So if for instance a Negate goes down in the front flag room of a keep and someone places it well, they prevent anyone else from dropping an area effect ultimate as well because there usually isn't enough room without some fringe edge overlapping. Now you're no longer controlling the area within the Negate, but also a large margin around it.

If they could make it so that it only nullified what was actually inside the purple dome while allowing anything outside of it to exist, then I think a lot of people would be okay with that. I'm guessing that it's not so easy to implement this however since Zenimax went a different route.

I see your point from the perceptive of PvP. But as far and PvE Sorcs were forced to use Negate and forced to Post DPS.. Nagate is the only ultimate used in trials that does zero damage - See the conflict?

Nagate was useful in Vet DSA because it dispelled effects for the duration and provided spell resistance. But now that Circle of Protection provides the same damage mitigation - nobody will use Nagate.

Perhaps this is a good thing - Sorcs with use Atro or Overload. Although Overload heavy attacks currently (on 1.6) do less damage than light attacks.

I honestly do see why it can be a frustrating ultimate. On my other characters it will annoy me that it's almost like some Sorcs wait for you to drop that Standard, or Nova or Veil so they can Negate it... I know I wait for those moments on my Sorc.

However the way I read it, maybe I read it wrong... long day at work, but I can drop my Negate and take away a Veil but then a DK can just run in and drop a Standard and because it was not on the ground when I dropped Negate... it won't be Negated... kind of kills the Ultimate really. I'll be testing it however in PTS when I can... I don't have my characters available this week since I'm NA but I can make a template copy of my Sorc and try things out. We'll see, if it's pointless now I'll just use Meteor and another ultimate like Barrier, War Horn or Dawnbreaker.

Our work on racial passives is ongoing. We have read the thread you linked, as well as others. With the recent changes from today's patch, which specifically do you feel could use looking at?
    Some thoughts:

The point is that there are some almost next to useless racial passives and some are overpowered:

Nord's frost resistance - useless in PvP, almost next to useless in PvE as there is not much ice dmg and if there is one it hits for so much that the resistance is meaningless

Bosmer's poison/disease resistace - same as above, poison resist helps only for WWs while in WW form but it's usefulness is limited

Dunmers fire resistance - a lot of flame in game, both in PvP and PvE. Not to mention it is the best race to go for if you're a vampire. Flame damage will deal only ~28% more damage all the time.

Second issue are bonuses to max stats - either max magicka or max stamina - every class should have 10% bonus to either magicka or stamina. It increases damage you deal by a flat amount. It's wayyy more effective than stamina/magicka regen.

Health regeneration (Nord's or Khajiit's) is almost next to useless, health regen in game is so low that it is meaningless. Tanks in PvP have to be healed by healers, there is no way to create a viable self healing (from health regen) tank.

Altmer's passive increasing elemental damage (shock, fire, frost 6%) and Dunmer's flame damage ( 7%) - vs sneak bonus (Khajiit's or Bosmer's 10%). <- Those to races get 10% bonus damage to only 1 attack during fight or whole siege (as it is super hard to get back into sneak during a siege of a keep and that one attack is next to useless even in PvE during trials or dungeons, it's like a wasted passive), while bonuses to elemental damage work all of the time and buff some class skills all of the time!

Altemer sorc using destro staff will be able to do around 12% more DPS than Khajiit, Bosmer, Nord, Argonian, Redguard. 12% is a way to big difference.

All bonuses 10% more to max stats are more powerful with removal of softcaps - classes with those passives are getting indirect buff. While Nords, Khajiit's, Argonians, Bosmers will not gain anything from removal of soft caps.
