ZoS Why has this been ignored!? - Templar: Focused/Toppling Charge!

    I agree that templars should not have gcd. They also shouldn't have stunlocks. Imagine that without any cooldowns ^.^

    Imo, both need to be changed asap.

    Just for those who don't know it yet:

    The class skills will be revamped (those which need one) in a future update (probably 1.6) in order to make the ready or the Champion System. It will be similar to what happened to the weapon skills.

    Btw: I'd prefer to have everbody using charge instead of snipe, just my personal opinion.

    Don't all skills in the game have a GCD? Otherwise tapping 1-2-3-4-5 really fast would result in the skill constantly being interrupted by other skills?

    However I agree that there is something wrong with the GCD on Toppling charge since it can't be interrupted through blocking like other skills can. And it is too long, longer than the animation of the skill itself.

    We agree that the post global cooldown on Focused Charge is a little too long right now. We do plan to reduce it so you can cast your next ability sooner after the charge is complete, in Update 6.

    @ZOS_JessicaFolsom This is still a thing. Any update? More so with the toppling charge morph than the explosive charge morph, but it is still there for both.

    Also; it should be noted that with this ability, you also get stuck in the animation with the spear above your head and your legs just chopping away like you are running. Can last 30 seconds to a minute. Drinking a potion seems to help get you out of it but that isn't always an option.

    And while we are on Templar bugs; please look at eclipse and its morphs. If you put it on a target that casts; the templar winds up being silenced for the duration of eclipse on the target.

    These are just the bugs, but there is more going on with Templar like biting jabs where most of us would just assume remove the knock back from the ability completely. It is counter intuitive to a melee damage attack to want to know someone out of it.

    I fear you guys have given us Radiant Destruction and washed your hands of us and FWIW; I'd gladly give back RD for flashes back, a working eclips, a working focused charge, and to not have a worthless 1 second knock back giving CC immunity for much longer than that.

    Looks normal to me.. just that templar's charge has a shorter animation than it should have, hence the feeling of delay. Critical charge does the same (aka mob autoattacks you till you can react).. Shield charge only looks better because it has a shield knockdown animation at the end, filling up time and knocking down target to give you feeling of having even more time.

    Sure it may feel clunky as hell, but unless they want to introduce cooldowns in the game, there's no way around it.. otherwise people would just run circles around you and charge charge charge.

    One way to make it "feel more right" would be to add some fast animation at the end (swinging weapon or whatever) that would make up for the pause..

    There IS a stun afterwards the same as shield. I have used every charge in the game; and there definitely is a large CD at the tail end of toppling charge beyond just the animation finishing. Not to mention the bug where you get stuck in the animation completely. hence; why the devs have talked about it before.

    You guys are backtracking yet again. We have already indicated in multiple threads this problem for the past year. Then, as we have continued to point out, we were told it was a confirmed bug and will be completely removed.

    Further instigating the lies that have been spun about this ability is only going to further infuriate the players that know the truth.

    You need to remove this COMPLETELY, just as Eric Wrobel said would be done. Doing any less continues to confirm your company's lack of transparency and understanding.

    Do I need to link the ESO Live that I'm stating? I'm kind of tired of all this ***.

    Hi everyone,

    Let me throw in my 2 cents..

    I´ve been using this ability (Toppling Charge) in PvP recently and I notice that I get stuck in the animation at least 5/10 times.

    When I get stuck I'm literally a sitting duck. I can't block, I can't use any of my skills, and so on. This frustrates me because it's an important part of my build (gap closer).

    On another note, even when the ability does not get stuck. It seems as if the stun lasts longer on myself through the animation than on my enemy. Giving my enemy, when breaking free, an attack opportunity while I'm finishing the animation.

    I hope that you @ZOS_JessicaFolsom @ZOS_GinaBruno are willing to pass this along so this can be looked at.

    To their credit, they did reduce it a little. To their complete discredit, however, it exists at all.

    The last they said about this skill is that the Cool Down is a bug and will be removed (this was what Eric said in an ESO Live over a month ago).

    But the last thing they actually did about it was 'slightly reduce' the GCD in the 1.6 patch notes.

    So there is a clear discrepancy here between what they are saying and what they are doing, and for some reason they refuse to clarify the issue. No one has said anything about it since Eric in February.

    Please, I don't think Templars are asking for too much here.
    --If this is indeed a bug that has been in the game for a year now, I think we can reasonably ask that it be removed as easily as it was added (because it was consciously added just after launch as a response to bot spammers).
    --If it is not a bug and Eric was wrong, can someone just take literally 2 seconds to confirm that?
