A returning player wants to know the current situation of DKs and Sorcs

DK skills are the best skills in the game. You can just tell the class was polished before release, unlike the other classes.

Few of their skills overlap or are redundant, with interesting toggles/synergies, the best ultimates in the game and alongside NB the best passives.

And then you got Green Dragon Blood, which is the god among mortals of all class heals.

I don't understand how a class with so much group utility and durability can be putting out such damage at the same time.

One other thing I noticed: all DK class spells are instant. They are literally the only class like this: every other class has at least a few spells that require a casting time.

In PvP at least, casting time means a lot of skills are not used. Not sure if ZOS really understands how crippling a casting time is. Again, DKs come out on top.

Yes, Gina actually said that (at least regarding Rushed Ceremony) right here:

it would be stupid to nerf that skill even further when you got skills like Bombards which have a much longer range and can also root groups of ennemies in places much more reliably.
Bombard is not as much reliable as Talons in terms of practicability. Try it yourself! I've tested bombard for weeks in pvp and it doesn't apply as often as Talons, last beeing a class skill (not weapon attack).
Second, as stated by some player, immobilize should be treated like a hard CC, skills like Immovable should work against Immobilize.

Everything else leads players to use more and more immobilizing effects.
This further strenghtens Zerg-Trains because is it exactly these groups that abuse Talons to keep you stuck on place, WITHOUT any chance (if not enogh stamina, if no Rapid Maneuvre,..) to do anything.
Just get an oil and combine Caltrops + Talons for a big oil party. This is just stupid.

You can't do anything similar with Bombard. Bombard is just a very tight frontal cone AE and is often resisted, etc. While Talons, combined with light armor and sharpened trait , etc. etc., gets you everytime into root.

Strategic "moves" like immobilize shouldn't be recastable, at least, give players a few seconds of immunity. Before using them, a player should think twice about it (like all other CCs). Just casting and recasting means no skill is required at all, you just spam it and abuse it over and over again. Roll dodging doesn't help at all when in fight (stamina loss) and when you know the next Root is following immediately after, and next.. Or give every class an AE root, make Blazing Spear root 6 players instead of 1 stun, this would be fairness. Instead you get slow effects that don't have any deeper meaning in large battles, where everyone is goin for burst-dmg, AoE or infinetely recastable Talons.. That is what PvP atm looks like (see the dying servers...)..

It was pretty hilarious at launch, when Talons hit 6 people in a wider radius and (correct me if I am wrong) didn't even cost mana unless it hit someone (!?!?!). With Talons that insanely OPed, what did ZOS do?

Nerf Templars. Yep, they nerfed Templars right in the middle of Talons working like that. They were actually more worried about Templars than Talons and DKs.

Kind of puts into perspective how out of touch ZOS has been at times in terms of class balance.

Out of touch doesn't begin to cover it.
Bobbity Boop, this game might become poop, but I'll still play because I'm just a pile of goop!
