Do players deserve an official launcher based poll to vote on arenas, ae caps, etc?

Would be interesting to see what the majority of players thinks about this stuff rather than just the vocal minority and forum trolls.

That said, I don't expect many educated votes on stuff like AoE caps, so meh.

Players gave us VR levels, players got templars crippled pre-launch, players got the api gutted, players got game development time devoted to a smoother (and completely useless) first person mode, players brought on the enforcing of aoe caps with their incessant whining, players are trying to get Dks and Sorcs nerfed into the ground (where the classes aren't what needs fixing) , players ate my disagree button... I really could go on.

The only thing players "deserve" is probably a kick in the <insert body part here>.

kaer if we had official launcher polls, then maybe so many of those player made nerfs wouldnt have happened.

I dont think zen has a system to actially check on each players opinion , even more , because i never in any MMO i played saw a poll you had to take part in , at most they made it appear ingame , still tons of people i knew never answered anything, people just avoid losing time.

With that said , i dont see why not , that devs would see how many answered and so on also.

Creating such a tool would be nice for community feedback on things.

With that said :P , i would still guess the majority would be against such thing , dont see why people think ingame players would be any more supportive than the forum players , but oh well , might aswell just test it and be done with this once and for all.

you make it part of the launcher, so they have to vote before the "play" button lights up

this way you are sure to get all paying customers opinions. Mythic (daoc) has used this before successfully

and although I think this could be true, implementation is key. It could be awesome if done right it could be an epic failure if they just copy and paste WoW's system. But I'm not one to reject an idea because of other games.

If an arena is implemented I would like to see a PVE version also. This would nullify any complaints over rewards using 'arena points' and add a system to grind for XP, which would be ace.

also, arenas are for bragging rights, and should give no points, which solves that issue you have.

You misunderstand me, I'm in favor of Arena's, no way should their be a vote on it. We already know the result, it would be 35% give or take in favor. Which is is easily enough to warrant it being a feature.

If there was no reward, less people would play, that's why I suggest a PVE version to counterbalance the argument that rewards would some how ruin it. Not to mention it would please the people that don't want to play the VR.

I don't agree with everything here, but it does illustrate how player feedback can be a double edge sword.

Players have the choice to voice their opinion on upcoming content and the company making the game may or may not decide to take advice from said players. But in the end it's not OUR game, it's ZoS's game. ZoS hasn't forced any of us to give them money or continue to give them money. If you don't like something they implement, like Arenas, then you are certainly welcome to find another game that suits you better. I'm sure there will be plenty of players happy to have Arena, or any other type of new content ZoS comes out with.

Bottom line, there is nothing that the players "deserve" other than continued support from the developers to keep fixing issues with the game, which they are.

I also voted no. The decision should be solely up to ZOS and the direction they have planned for the game. They are the ones who know what they want the game to be, pandering to votes by a small (very small) representation of the community can lead to pretty big problems later.

I voted no and I WANT Arenas, your comment is invalid. The point is, players do not "deserve" to have a say in upcoming content, only an opinion thereof.
