This will be a pretty lopsided poll since players who aren't emps will all vote to lose it. :P

P.S. Here is the list of the "OP" buffs lol
    1) Increases the magnitude of healing on them by 1%.
    2) Decreases Ultimate costs by 5%.
    3) Increases health/magicka/stamina recovery while in combat by 2%.
    4) Increases siege weapon damage to keeps and other siege by 2%.

well, i'm a former emp and i voted for them to be done away with so i guess it works both ways

those who aren't emperors aspiring to be emperor could just as easily vote for leaving it as it is

There needs to be some sort of reason to stop Emperor trading/switching.
I have literally witnessed a DC guild log on, rush Emperor keeps attempting to take them all before we defended.
As soon as we defend successfully once. Half of them leave, we fight back, the rest of them leave. We then take back keeps undefended.

One time they succeeded due to us doing trials at the time.
Their emp shortly after switched home campaign.
    We took our stuff back..
Next day there is another Former emperor charging at us.

At the moment nobody cares for being emperor, it has no value, the only value lies with having as many former emperors as you can get.

Well , i understand people are exploiting this , but i still believe there should be something for those who did it.

Maybe give them a pet or something like that if they remove the passives dunno.

agree - do i WANT to lose my current former emp buffs - heck no

do i want to see an end to emperor farming exploits and the ruin it causes it the campaign they target - heck yes

as such i'd rather lose my former emp buffs if it stops the disgusting behavior and in game harassment and abuse by the emperor farmers

I don't think that losing them would change Emperor swapping. People are assuming that it's these buffs that are the reason for getting Emp. and I just don't think that's true.

I doubt as many would care if there weren't buffs and if it was just a title or something. Even then , I prefer emperor to mean something, but to each their own

All I said was I don't think that is the reason. I can't speak for everyone. I can only tell you that myself and 2 friends who are all former Emps did it for the challenge and the fun! It was a sort of pvp progression.

3 other Emps that I have played with from time to time, at least in passing, also SEEMED to be just interested in the challenge/progression. I can't speak for everyone. I just doubt that removing the buff would change the bad behavior that is currently going on.

This is actually not a bad idea... remove a buff for something that doesnt' make sense anyways and you get rid of the explotative nature of "Emperor Farming".
    Indeed it is so...

I've got to disagree with this. People definitely wouldn't bother farming if all they got was a title rather than the stat bonuses. It is a raw deal for people like you who earned it the real way though, and that's what really gets to me about the people who have been farming for it.

Yeah, this is definitely the worst part. I have no issue with people legitimately getting emperor and having these passives. It is a fun challenge and I was thinking of trying it myself. Now...meh.

I think people do it for the title mostly, not for the buffs. They do it for the title because its the only evident thing you can 'win' in PvP in this game.

Also, many people who get the title are completionists who want their character to have every single achievement.

Some of the win-traders might think the buffs will be a big deal, but truly anybody who plays enough to get the title ought to realize that the buffs will give no noticeable benefit.

I'm a former emperor and I would like to see PvE balanced in a way that doesn't encourage farming and joining campaigns your alliance already dominates in in order to get ahead. PvP buffs in general should be restricted to PvP in my opinion, and possibly by campaign. If you are in another campaign, get those buffs instead. Right now, we have people joining dead, dominated campaigns and farming emperor just to get ahead in trials. This just encourages imbalanced PvP. By all means, reward winners in PvP, but I'm not sure those buffs should really apply outside of PvP. Who would complain about everybody having the same shot in PvE? Not this former Emp.

People seek to progress their toon as far as they can to make it the best possible. To say people are not seeking emperor for former emperor buffs and to progress their character further is asinine.

The benefit for becoming emperor should simply be just that.. become emperor get buffs play awhile... you lose it.. have a former emperor title.. grats.. no need for the added imbalance of former emp bonuses..

at this point knowing that ppl got emperor with only 500k to 1 mil AP I feel cheated. I'm busting my arse on wabbajack and cant even hope to achieve 15 mil ap but telling my self well maybe next time when I start on even ground with everyone and here ppl are getting it for practically free.

Emperor means absolutely nothing to me now..a Dunce cap with jester garb..grats to all those ppl who showed me that emp means nothing.

wtf removing the former emperor passives?
i played 4 weeks hardcore no life 14h++ a day to get my emp tree.

i deserve the MIGHTY 5% ultcost reduction because i EARNED it with a LOT of effort.

The title is unfamous by now everytime i see a "Former Emperor" i immediatly think "scout or emperor?"

They are farming it for the 5% ultimate buff.
Remove the buff, leave the title and we shall see.

well i had time for it though ;)

my point is just im curious where the problem is to not to begrudge so.having ppl former emp buffs. which isnt even a huge buff. just a small tweak.
2% more reg, 5% ultcost reduce and a bit 40 more dmg on balistas. must be totally op!

this game has enough easy to reach goals and contents for casual randoms.
emp buff is pretty much the only thing u can achieve as hardcore player.
and since its not even a strong buff there is absolutely no need to even consider removing it. even the thought itself is far from smart.

especially when it appears that 90% of the voters here dont even know the difference between emp and former emp buffs.

The buff doesnt have to be removed because its "too strong".
It has to be removed because its causing this kind of unexpected (and very much lame) behaviour.

Make the current empie much stronger, i dont care, this farming thing needs to be stopped... yesterday.
