    I like their choice, too. It's not that the mage CANT use it, if they absolutely need to. And it's not like the first use costs any more. But there is now a penalty for repetitive spam.

    Still very usable, just not as spammable.

Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

    why not? bolt escape is most useful for travel (it still is), how many sorc did you actually see spamming that in a combat. lol

    so technical question,

    supposed I used BE at time 0 sec, it cost 350 magicka
    then I used it again at time 1sec, it cost 350+175=525 magicka
    now, if I use it again at time 2sec, what would be the cost? 525? or 525+262.5=787?

    basically, is there a cap for the penalty?

    Most likely capped at first increase. lol, at 550, its likely the most expansive spells in the game. anything more would be comical.

    Worryingly that's the first question that came to my mind too... As there's a big deal of difference between the two.

    would be fascinating to see a tooltip saying this spell costs 1200 magicka, something for the record book for sure!

    since bolt escape doesn't counter gap closer anymore, may be the skill should be called a different name?

    Are you sure about this? Nothing in the patch notes says anything about this (but then again it might have been an oversight).

    Edit: Nevermind. I failed at reading. You meant the patch notes of PTS (1.2), not the Patchnotes for the normal server (1.1.2)

    Actually I recently started a discussion on the thematic. The cloests I got to a final result:
    It's not really bolt escape that is the problem.
    It is the Morph that gives magic projectile immunity comboined with the current favouring of magica based abilities (as they are stronger). If people used more Stam abilities, it could be countered. But that is not feasible right now.

    So the current approach of nerfing the Magica based abilities to be more in line with Stam abilities should take of the "Can Solo Group Content", "Everyone has to use light armor lategame" issues in addition to this one.

    As a sorc, I am perfectly fine with this change. Especially since they did some work on our (currently) *** pets and a few other skills. The Dark Exchange morph change, looks really good to.

    I never use BE in combat more than once or twice anyway. That's also how I feel it should be used. But than again I'm subjective about it since I rarely solo. Blinking half the map to avoid death, contributes with nothing, if you're in a group.

    Do hope they fix the stuck in combat bug. That's the only time I spam Bolt Escape, to keep up with mounts when I cant get out of combat (because I used a freaking HoT 5 minutes earlier).

    This is terrible. Once again ZoS has ruined a perfectly good skill to cater to the PvP whiners and QQ'ers. This game is going down hill faster than anyone could have predicted and its all because of self-inflicted wounds.

    It's a poor change. Bolt escape doesn't work properly as it is - it never stuns targets you move through, it doesn't work at all 20% of the time (which sometimes leads to a permanent 100% until log out).

    If they don't subsequently increase the range, all this ability will do is jump you a bit, and then you'll be sucked right back in - so it's no longer "escape" but "move a bit away."

    Hope this never goes live as it will destroy the sorc class playability unless they also add at the same time some kind of survivability against rush and bash. With this proposal you wouldn't even be able to use the spell to fight to avoid bash/rush instead of run away. There has never been anything wrong with the actual skill itself. It is the pvp'rs using the hack mod that allows them to port forever people are really mad at but they don't understand that. Changing the base skill isn't going to fix the cheaters' hack mods.

    Most of them? either to escape cause they are losing/suck (lol) or to stun lock players by bolting away, bolting back, and so on
