Its everything you explain FFXI not to be, sadly. Very sadly. Worse experience of my mmo play in any game ever on the planet.

However, TESO is exactly what I'd hoped for. I am glad they are actively working on bugs and fixes albeit not fast enough for some. I have such a great time in this game. It is gorgeous, has quality voice-overs, interesting questlines, a lot of very cool and knowledgeable players, enjoy the crafting, love the PvP that I've tried so far, did I say its immersive and I love many of the npc's?

Hmm, hmm, hmm. Very good stuff. Just needs seasoning.

    Good journeys!

Most MMO forums have more negative post then positive posts because those who complain and whine need attention and those who like the game stay quiet and don't say a word.

I love the game. I just post and read these forums cause I'm bored at work.

I was one of the old-school XI players on the Leviathan server. It was such a great game, but today, it's fairly lack luster when compared to how I remember it being.

The game got the complete WoWification treatment in the last couple of expansions. It still has some good points, but it's a largely solo game now while leveling, and if you want to do any of the really epic boss fights or burning circles, it's almost impossible to find a group that will stick it out until the end.

FYI - FFXI and FFXIV ARR are different games. FFXIV was a bit of a reboot of FFXI with some major changes to game mechanics and entirely new lore and story using the same races with new names and the same world, but only in name. Both games are in the world of Eorzea, but each one has a completely different world map.

When FFXIV failed at launch, they went back to the studio and remade the game over again with some major changes in the development staff and produced A Realm Reborn, which was another reboot with a new story that continues from where the failed FFXIV story left off.

First, I don't troll. If I say something it's because it is either true or my opinion.

Second, this was said by a GM. I don't lie I have no reason to.

Finally, you could actually take a minute and put some logical thought into what you say instead of just posting a couple times about people trolling.

@denicolad16_ESO‌ Are you 100% sure it was a GM? That does seem out of character for a GM to say, considering comments like that in-game could probably cost a GM their job if their boss were to see it.

First, I don't troll. If I say something it's because it is either true or my opinion.

A popular logical fallacy employed here by far too many is the Ad Hominem.
Translated from Latin to English, "Ad Hominem" means "against the man" or "against the person."

An Ad Hominem is a general category of fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejected on the basis of some irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument. Typically, this fallacy involves two steps. First, an attack against the character of person making the claim, her circumstances, or her actions is made (or the character, circumstances, or actions of the person reporting the claim). Second, this attack is taken to be evidence against the claim or argument the person in question is making (or presenting). This type of "argument" has the following form:
    1. Person A makes claim X.
    2. Person B makes an attack on person A.
    3. Therefore A's claim is false.

The reason why an Ad Hominem (of any kind) is a fallacy is that the character, circumstances, or actions of a person do not have a bearing on the truth or falsity of the claim being made (or the quality of the argument being made).
Instead of attacking a position, too many here attack the poster. Even the most primitive debating skills seem to be woefully lacking in today's education.

Yes absolutely positive. He had logged in to rid the zone of bots. He also went on to state when asked about banning the bot's, "GM's can not ban accounts only admin's can. Currently Zenimax only has two admins. GM's can only log players out". I only wish I could remember his name.

Right now I am buying in for a 6 month sub on the basis that it took several months for them to iron out bugs in previous TES games and as of now the core stuff (most quests, PvP, crafting etc) is working reasonably well. No backwards flying dragons and unlike, say, Daggerfall we are able to finish the main quest.

I am playing the game in most of my free time and enjoying it when I don't let myself get distracted by admittedly annoying things like bots and missing achievements.

So I am throwing money down in the hopes that it will not become free to play/pay to win because at that point I'd have to quit.

If you're going off of what Bethesda did with Elder Scrolls Single Player Games. You're in for a shock. Zenimax is NOT Bethesda and ESO does not instantly equate to any TES. It may be set in the same universe. But that has nothing to do with how Zenimax handles things versus how Bethesda does.

MMOs are persistent and if its mismanaged its problems will not be solved. Or at least solved in the time it needs to be solved. Currently Zenimax is showing us they are unable to manage the post-launch game in a way that will be profitable for them and enjoyable for us. The lack luster responses to issues requiring immediate fixes, the lazy attempt to disrupt and eliminate gold spammers and bots, the fix one thing break two more bug fixes. Its all pilling up.

I've played enough MMOs to know that there's a small window for an MMO to get its **** together before it does possibly irrevocable damage to its population. When it comes to smaller companies they're forced to take the F2P route to save face. And the game is forever changed from something worth while to a theme park with little to no sustenance to its content. Larger companies are able to maintain the subs because of other projects but the low population means content will be a trickle or none at all.

Zenimax is closing in on the end of the forgiveable window. The time when people can shrug things off because its launch issues. But 3-6 months in. People wont be so forgiving. And nor should they.

If ESO goes F2P it will be to take advantage of the larger profits. Several folks have studied F2PvP2P profits and found that F2P games make on average 2-3 times the profits of a P2P game.

No GM has ever said that. If they had, there would have been screenshots posted all over the forums and internet in general. As for your reason to lie: I assume you were just bored this morning.

I wasn't aware that a totally ludicrous claim needed to be debated. I might as well have a debate with that poster about whether or not there are invisible flying unicorns.

If you're going to make ridiculous assertions (like "A GM totally said this game is going free-to-play"), you need to provide at least a modicum of evidence. If you don't, that's what is known in modern-day parlance as "trolling".

There is literally no debate to be had. That poster made a patently false claim in order to stir up trouble. That's trolling. I called it trolling. The mods called it trolling. Are you going to accuse the forum moderators of ad hominem for calling the post what it was?

    Gotcha.

So when I call someone's post trolling, it's ad hominem. When I'm right, it's still ad hominem, even though there was no rational debate to be had. When a moderator completely agrees with me and redacts the post, then I'm still at fault, because clearly I just had no idea what I was talking about.

    Makes. Perfect. Sense.
