NOT Quitting ESO

Wildstar is gonna be like every other MMO. It'll launch with bugs, people are gonna claim it's going F2P very soon, and doomed. Some others are gonna claim it's the best thing since sliced bread and no other MMOs on the market are gonna touch it. A major patch will launch and people will complain about the direction the game is headed, and nerfs to their class/game content.

Personally speaking, I just couldn't get into Wildstar. I got to 20 in the beta and the game really wasn't drawing me in. I dislike the hyper-sexualized comic book art style they went for both in character animations, and character appearance.. and the whole culture of the game (meaning dialogue/jokes) all seemed very bro-centric and kinda.. stereotype jock "do you even lift" type stuff. The combat was fun at first, but PvE quickly felt kinda boring and repetitive, especially when I wasn't getting involved in the quests. The dungeon I did was at least difficult, but I can't say I found it enjoyable either.

The only things I think I really liked were the random challenges you happened across (some of those were very fun), the housing, and that the need to discover an entire map I have for all games, actually completed a quest achievement if I went explorer.

That's just my opinion though, it doesn't mean Wildstar is gonna fail, or that Wildstar is a bad game. Just means that it's not the game for me. I don't need to call mechanics in Wild Star dumb, or accuse everyone that likes it of liking some asinine things that people usually don't like in an attempt to insult, as so many seem to do in various MMO forums.

You're not likely to find many who support MMO B in the forums for MMO A... just as you aren't likely to find a lot of love for MMO A in the forums for MMO B either... unless of course MMO B hasn't released yet, cause then everyone is still talking about how much better it's going to be.

    ^ This.

Kinda bugged by people who, because they don't care for this mechanic or that design choice, proclaim F2P or the game sucks. Well, honey, it may suck for you but some of us enjoy it. Personally, I've tried damned near every major MMO title that's come out in the last 10 years and can count the ones I've really liked on one hand. Those I still play a bit include WoW.

Find a game you like and have fun. Don't like it, it's really simple. Don't play it. But crapping all over someone else's fun because you're an embittered little twit doesn't do anything but inflate your sad little ego.
Brunhilda Icehammer - Nord Dragonknight, 'Smith & Enchantress 'What is 'ranged? I need to hit something!!'
Laehl Direthorn - Bosmer Nightblade, Purveyor of fine Clothes, Bows and Staves
Reeza gra-Zuni - Orc Templar 'War Shaman' and Apothecary
Noemi Snowpaw - Kajiit Dragon Knight - I laugh... or I'd have to kill you.
Kitera Dreamon - Breton of The Dominion: Because those Daggers don't appreciate a great Mage.
Lysara Shadowcroft - Dunmer Bloodmage: This will only hurt a lot.

IMO, Wildstar is a bad MMO. It's pumped on hype of being the next WoW, and granted it's launching with lotsa features, I almost hated playing it with any class combination I tried. The graphics are from the year 2000, the art stye IMO is kiddie lame, and the only draw I had to the game was how cool the developers approached the game. But really, when you get in game......it sucks.

I'm looking forward to the stupidity of the media upping this game compared to much better games along it's side.

In my experience people who claim WS sucks haven't played it past level 15 or given the reason because . . . graphics. Most people who actually played WS have a totally different view. To be honest I had no intention of ever stepping foot in that game because of the art style. Finally gave it a shot. The starting areas are indeed "meh" and at first the classes seemed "meh" as well.

But the thing about WS is the more you level in that game the more intense it becomes. After level 15 things change. After level 30 the game goes into omg-can't-put-it-down-it's-so-fun mode. Classes feel smooth and really well done. Abilities synergize and combat is AWESOME! Once you go into a dungeon or raid? That's it. If you like challenging, reactive, intense and fun content you're hooked. It's the most fun I've had since early WoW. I'm also SUPER impressed with the PvP.

This is all subjective, of course. If you like doing repetitive questing over and over ESO's your game. If you like endless zerg PvP, you'll enjoy ESO. If you like having access to tons of useless skills and builds, ESO's for you. If you like mindlessly mashing AOE abilities, you'll like ESO. If you like playing one of the two classes that actually make sense and spending hours and hours and hours doing linear quests for pocket change, then you're in the right place.

If you like DC's, hackers, exploiters, botters, bugs (and more bugs), broken abilities and passives, then you'll love, LOVE ESO. If you think that having to spend weeks and weeks to reach level cap = hard, then you should be playing ESO. If you think this game is at all challenging then by all means, keep playing.

As for me? On 5/30/14 at 12:01 PDT I'll be logging into WS with a ton of guildies, and you'll never have the pleasure of seeing my face here ever again.

Wildstar as a F2P is fine but not worth a sub. Once wod comes out WS population will die.

I was prepared to never look at wow again.. but then i saw WoD and I am pretty sure ill be cranking up my old subs again... after I play WS for a while.

I also heard Wildstar will have cash AMP/ability or something purchases making it a p2w game. It's already a bit of a money grab as it is.

It's published by NSoft. Prepare to have the cash shop shoved down your throat.

There is currently only two classes in this game, DK and Sorcs.
Templar's and NB are just 'extras' that have not been removed yet.

Probably just cosmetics until it goes F2P, and then they will have some sort of crystals or something that can be bought in the store and traded for in game currency. Just a guess though.

Every time I play ESO I am just amazed at the creativity, its depth and always full of surprises. Then I come to this forum, for fun, and see strings upon strings of topics by one drama queen or another sharing with us how lucky we and ZOS is to have them staying, at least for another month. Amazing.
