NOT Quitting ESO

countesscrownub18_ESO
I will keep my subscription current. However.... I think until these bugs and super mobs are fixed "just got hit for 2600 from an AOE ability". I will play occassionally but going to give Wild Star a try. I declined all beta invites because ESO was so good. Lately however "VR content sucks"

Yeah, it's like they reverted the difficulty then some neckbeard was like "I'll show you." and reinserted it just a little. They probably cut his pay. That or he's 22 and no one in Santa Barbara will date him.

    He's punishing us instead.

BTW I am VR3 and it was the world boss in the south corner. But NO AOE ability should do 2600 pts of damage......

I never got into the graphics on Wildstar, so i am stuck playing a game I enjoy. How horrible for me.

I got 1-shotted for 2874 damage in crucible today. I'm level 41 and wearing plate with about 1800hp. The boss stepped up to me while his aoe was on.

Seems most bosses in group dungeons have one or two attacks that if your character doesn't block, or dodge out the way of, they will basically fall to it in one hit. The way it's set up though the bosses all seem to - so far that I've experienced - give clear visual graphic indications that they're winding up for a big hit.
    Personally I like this mechanic.
If you can be anything, be kind.

Hum, I think your comment isn't very accurate on Wildstar. You should at least have tried to play more than the first 10 levels, because you had barely any abilities, you had no amps and the ennemies are still in tutorial easy mode.

When you start reaching lvl 15, your ennemies actualy become a lot more agressive. Quests might be generic but some do get original setups when you travel in space or hazardous areas. And while some of the ingame setups might be similar to WoW, it stays very accessible to a large audience and the combat is far different from WoWs.

IMO, Wildstar is a bad MMO. It's pumped on hype of being the next WoW, and granted it's launching with lotsa features, I almost hated playing it with any class combination I tried. The graphics are from the year 2000, the art stye IMO is kiddie lame, and the only draw I had to the game was how cool the developers approached the game. But really, when you get in game......it sucks.

I'm looking forward to the stupidity of the media upping this game compared to much better games along it's side.

It's not a question of difficulty, is that it's the typical linear wowclone where you just grind through boring levels to get to what?Raiding? No thanks. I don't doubt people will like it and play it. Till WoD comes out and they go F2P because all their intended public has gone back to WoW

And the combat was very clunky and lame

My ESO sub is still running but I am waiting for ArcheAge beta (so many features/things to do in that sandbox). When I reach VR12 I'm not sure I will resub. I was enjoying the game at release but the VR reheated quests from other alliance is NOT what I was hoping for. My enjoyment is sadly going down :( I don't want that to happen but it's the reality. I usually am glued to a mmorpg for years!

I'm not giving up on ESO, but I'm going to take a break to play the wildstar head start. I enjoy the cartoony style of WoW so if it's similar that's great. I also enjoy raiding and PvP so I might enjoy it for a while.

I also heard Wildstar will have cash AMP/ability or something purchases making it a p2w game. It's already a bit of a money grab as it is.

Took a look at the game. Wish I was 10-15 years younger. It would be right in my wheel house.

Tried wowstar beta, couldn't play it for more than 30 minutes. IMO it takes wowcloning to a whole other level. It might as well have just been a wow reskin add-on.

But to each their own. Personally it just made me appreciate ESO that much more, and in ways I didn't expect. Immediately I cringed at text-only NPC dialogue (say what you want about lack of voice variety in ESO, I'll take that over voiceless any day) , splatter HUD and the WoW control scheme. I don't think I'll ever be able to play an MMO again that doesn't have 3rd person shooter mouse control as the default. Nothing makes me feel less immersed than having to choose between using A and D to turn, or holding down the mouse button.

Anyways, just my experience. There's an MMO for everyone. ESO is for me.

If there's one thing I've learned in 20 years of MMO gaming, it is that <insert next MMO release here> is WAY better than <insert name of currently playing MMO here>.
Catches-the-Sun - Argonian Templar - Master Smith, Provisioner, Chemist & Tailor
Valaren Arobone - Dunmer Flamewalker - Master Woodworker, Provisioner, Assassin
Kazahad - Khajiiti Arcane Archer - Master Thief

P2G is no different then ESO. Pay more for a class nobody else can play, free mount, and a ring that increases exp.

Well for a start it's supposed to be action combat but you have to use an addon to actually get a mouse look like you get in action RPG (and it doesn't work well). It's a hybrid of tab target and action but taking the worst part of the 2 systems

I can understand this. However, AOE attacks should never do more damage then a direct attack.

I think ESO is without doubt the best MMO on the market today (upcomings WildStar and ArcheAge and Everquest Next etc will not match up to ESO either). ESO has tons of potential - it's up to ZOS to live up to this potential...@ZOS - keep listening to us and work smarter, don't wreck this game. And don't let the fanbois shut down people bringing up valid concerns. Listening to us and responding, and communicating is what's needed here.

I can't see how anyone who has done the questing in ESO could prefer the utterly mechanical "collect 10 pelts" approach in Wildstar. The game is also pure ADD: flashing lights, glowing arrows, arewestillhavingfunyesisntthisfunlookoverheretheresanothershinythingboom
