I totally ripped this from the TESO Off the Record podcast. Not affiliated with TesoOTR in any way, shape, or form. Word for word transcription so don't blame me for the grammar, also the umm's and ah's have been omitted.

TesoOTR: So the recent bank reset, bug that's been going around, is there any way that you can sort of speak on that a bit?

Paul Sage: Yeah, what I can you is that you know again without too technical of an explanation and although it's been posted, the most pertinent thing I can say is don't go in and try to expand your bank again right now. It is it is actually more of a display
error. We believe most of those items are still there. I think it might be related to alts at this point. But again we believe that bug is going to be addressed. Hopefully again by tomorrow. So I hope it certainly is. You know we want everybody to have fun. I understand why you know anything like this that hits is obviously something that you know just just stinks on ice. And we want to make sure that people get back in and they get their stuff and can play as normal. So...

TesoOTR: So you're saying that it's a display error, possibly could be a display error and that they that it actually could be in the bank. It's just they're maybe they're not displaying properly.

Paul Sage: It's, it's, that's a really a, yeah, simple way that I put it. It's not really as much display, I mean the bank stuff still exists we believe and so once we get this fix in the items should still be there.


One possible translation: The database is fine but the way the game is reading the database record is messed up. Fixable by our coders.

Alternate possible translation: The program is fine but the database for the bank was corrupted and we hope that our backups can restore the correct bank data to the point where it was corrupted without having to do rollbacks. Pray that the backups are okay.

The EU megaserver has been up for about an hour. Have the bank problems there been fixed with the patch?

    No, my vault is not fixed as after the maintance.

    Some EU players are reporting that their bank has been fixed.

    ZOS may be doing user by user restores or based on time/date if only a select number of players had their bank capacity/inventory restored. If so, it'll be a slow and tedious process. Even worse, it appears that there haven't been any gold restores yet.

    I just got this reply to my ticket ( # 140418-015327) from today:

    Thank you for contacting our support team.

    First of all, I checked your previous tickets, and I must apologise for taking so long to solve your issue.
    Unfortunately, I cannot solve your issue right away, but we're noting every singular case of bank losses and have already reported it to the development team.
    We expect the issue to be addressed in an upcoming patch. Please, bear with us as we work on a resolution.
    I understand how frustrating it is, specially in your case, where you already invested so much gold into upgrading your bank!
    Please, do not buy any extra slots until the issue is solved!

    Once again, I apologise for the inconvenience!

    Apparently, their support team is not even aware that the issue is supposed to be fixed in today's patch. Let alone doing anything to actually return lost items to players.

    *sigh*

    Mine isn't fixed regards the 90 slots I had but I always kept it below 60 items due to the bug. I'm still wondering if we are ok to use it now and expand?

    If I were in your situation, I would wait until your bank gets restored back to 90 or until ZOS tells you that they can't restore the slots.
