How long until the QQ train starts?
lol screw the QQers their faults for zergging and zergging and zergging and zergging.
I'd like to point out that I've been running solo all day, and I've died about 10 times throughout the day to vicious death procs on people who happened to be around me or responded to the same attack.
8 DC taking Roe mine, four of us (I'm guessing the other three were solo as well) show up to take it back, two of them get 5-6 meteors between them and I died to one snipe, one hit from a mage guard, and two vicious death procs.
I even died once because I was on the wall at Ash, and five people in front of me got double-hit with cold-fire that I moved out of! Apparently siege damage can proc VD.
Players are now going to have to make an effort to stay far away from anyone who *might* not be good enough to dodge or block incoming damage in fear of the vicious death procs that could hit them.
This is dumb.
@MrBM You want to blame people who run balled up, propose a solution. Most of them don't know how to play well on their own. Between the two 30-day campaigns on PC/NA, I have three toons in the top 10 of the leaderboard, where more than 90% of my AP was made playing alone or in a group of 2. My play is being affected because of others who end up in the same area and die to VD. There is something wrong with that.

What?
To clarify: Fight by myself versus two enemies, one of which wearing Vicious Death. For some reason, the set procs even though I am the only one around.
It just shows up on my death recap before the killing blow, without any allies around and after my health went down dramatically for no apparent reason. The recap only shows one high damage attack, a Vicious Death proc. It might be ZOS' awesomely useless death recap at work, it might be something else.First day of vicious pvp - tons of kills with that set. Haven´t died to it once.
Seems to be doing what it´s supposed to.

Bold part is the point. There's no reason for the set to proc and kill me when there's no allies in my very close vicinity being killed by a VD user.
The set seems to be proccing when you reach 0% hp (or is bugged with soul summons somehow).
There is a bug in the game where you fall on 0% but the server already registered a heal for you so you don´t die but instead get healed. The set however is set off and kills you after the heal gets applied.
It will somehow show up in death recap but i´ve never managed to actually deal dmg with it to a single target with addon dps logs. No idea.
Can confirm it does procc on a low hp target even with nobody within 5 meters range. I killed somebody with VD earlier eventhough his nearest ally was at like 10 meters and didnt die. I saw the damages on my combat log and got the kb from the procc. Didnt get the time to screenshot it tho as it was midfightLava_Croft wrote: »Bold part is the point. It's probably a combination of perception and the awesomely useless death recap...
@RinaldoGandolphi just tried some sightseeing in Azura EU. Suddenly boom and im dead. Nothing new here besides... VD proc on third position on my death recap. Im pretty sure there wasn't any friendly player for miles around me.
VD also unfairly penalizes class that require melee range and/or don't have escape mechanisms, aka DKs and Templars.

Yup, wasn't well thought out at all, but hey you got that buff to Burning Embers! and Chains gives back magicka now!

VD is acting as an execute, it hits before the person is actually dead. So you are taking damage from VD even if you are the only person in the fight, that is what I have seen. I have had VD hit followed by the endless fury for a total of 10k, how that happens I don't know. Something does seem wrong. I don't know at what % the VD hits at.
That's what I've been trying to say. As soon as we noticed the way the death recap works on PTS, we knew ppl would be all over the forums about it.
Wrong.
It procs if your attack would have killed the enemy.
As example:
Enemy got 5k health left and I use a concealed weapon which would deal 6k.
Vicious death procs and both VD and concealed will deal the dmg at the same time to you.
You´d have died anyway.. all it does is confusing you by being visible in the recap/combat log.
That's another aspect of how VD interfaces with the UI. Combat log addons that record your damage done will list the VD explosion on someone you killing blow as damage done to that person at the same time as your killing blow. From what we tested on PTS, this 'damage' was just the person's body exploding in a VD proc. It's also what show's up in their death recap, but it does no damage to them, because they are already dead.Yeah I'm a bit confused as to why I'm seeing VD proc damage on lui when i kill someone even though there's no other enemy player around

I think it's a residual effect of the way VD is coded. A VD explosion killing someone cannot itself proc another VD explosion in a chain reaction. Only a killing blow landed by some other skill/set bonus/siege can proc a VD explosion. So I'm guessing that this whole VD explosion proc being treated as 'dmg done' to the person you killed who proced a VD by the UI is a way for the code to differentiate the VD proc from something that is allowed to proc another VD proc.
