The problem is that ZoS has a linear approach to everything. Make X do more damage to zerg har har. But then the zerg uses it more effectively.

Don't make the anti-zerg tool rely on the smaller groups killing someone in the zerg. Make it rely on the zerg killing the smaller groups. Specifically, they should have buffed soul shatter and kept it on-death.

Now, the only way a zerg is going to use it to their advantage is if they all suicide.....

When fights are that nice and no one rages/insults, it's fun ;) very simple

But I think it will be nerfed... we get too easily chain reaction, whatever the size of the group... I think it will rage on forums a lot and very soon. We got similar results both on huge ep zerg and fighting a red bomber group of 16... with only 3 vicious sets in the group atm. Next week will be 10 probably... this will end up with systematic deto+vicious impact kills.

Back to medieval counter strike headshots again.
No impact on lag... then damages will probably be downsized again.

@Crown Your absolutely right. I spent 95% of my in game time in PVP by myself or in a group of no more then 3 total including myself.

This Vicious Death nonsense was the single most stupidest decision in the history of this game by ZOS.

As you know, I was the one of the biggest voices on here advocating for some buffs to siege weapons for 2 reasons:

    1. To fight zergs
    2. To ensure outnumbered keep defenses were not an act of futility.

The changes in siege have accomplished that mission.Keep fights are actually fun now with that and the new Forward Camps..well were(more on that later)

Due to AOE caps these sets punish small group players far more then it punishes zergs. Just wait till all these zergs are running Vicious Death too in about a week....folks won't think its so great anymore.

Im just glad i don't have to deal with this nonsense anymore because i sure am not paying for it. All they had to do was remove AOE caps, instead they give everyone a buffed version of Proxy Det and a set that blows everything up, and leaving AOE caps in place so the zergs will still take half damage and all the small groups of 6 or less are punished by both of these additions.

Its baffling how they can continue to do this. Proxy Det + Vicious Death ensures 1 person can one shot a 5 man small group, and also ensures large groups will be unkillable waves of destruction once everyone has Vicious...just wait till you see that 24 man VE raid all wearing VD and Proxy Det come knocking on your door and steam roll you like an Italian Bulldozer...you won't think itst is so great then....VD in the hands of an organized Guild like VE is just going to equal lolz.

Its unreal how well thought out this really was lol. Im just glad im no longer paying for this nonsense.

So...you're sure the set sucks...but you don't play this game.

So many people misinformed about broken death recap's.

Currently whatever kills you is somtimes replaced with vicious death. Which is why some people believe is it proc'ing befor death.

Many threads have already proven vicious death is working as intended with proof. Very bad latency may also be a factor since your dead already while still alive on your client.

    Right....

Not sure why you're attacking a player or derailing thread.

VD set was problematic as a design intent, a lession on why you should engage in consistent player-dev communication, and how not to fix a complex problem with cheap duct-tape.

Now the game is stuck with it.

80+ ep a night on TF, all with VD, yeah it needs a global cooldown or something. And don't be proud of dropping into a group with proxy det and getting VD procs, a 5 year old could do it.

Someone transcribed the PAX questions, here's one that jumped out at me:

Q29: My question is PvP related. I would like to know what is your opinion on the outcome of the Vicious Death set?

RL: What is my opinion? I think it's really effective and I think that what we intended it to be hit the mark. It might be a little strong but overall it's pretty cool. I do think that we looked at proxy det and how that works or scales and it is really strong on that initial burst even on one player so we are going to look at that but overall it's pretty cool.

Just goes to show how oblivious they are. "Cool" is not the word I'd use to describe prox det, whether used on a solo player or a group. I'd also argue not a single intention for VD was actually realized - people aren't "spreading out", numbers at fights have multiplied (though there are other factors that drive this as well), the core problem was brushed aside, it helped force the meta to take a hard shift towards magicka, it reduced build options because it's B.I.S. to such an extent that every magicka dps needs to be wearing it, and it synergizes with NBs so well that broken is the only word that comes to mind when describing the potential burst numbers.

And for the lulz, they talked about combat dummies, but talked about it like it actually required effort to code and was a difficult thing to implement. /sigh

Prox Det needs to be changed somewhat...VD is fine.

However I disagree with some of the things you've mentioned..Stamina is still be used right now by a lot of people..Though i'm almost certain that has to do with Shuffle making it damn near impossible to kill a Stamina user half the time... and Stamina itself is about to get some nasty upgrades to make them even more powerful. Also Every Magicka DPS doesn't need to be using VD...that's entirely based on what you want to do as a Magicka User...If I was going to build around solo 1v1 play there is no way in hell I'd run my current setup for that...My current setup gets Wrecked in 1v1 basically..I have like zero sustain... However I agree it does synergize with NBs super well though... However DK's in a group (and I stress in a group) can be super nasty with it also.

If I am not mistaken, didn't the recent patch notes planned for Dark Brotherhood, mention something about Proxy Det benefiting from Thermaturge, because the system incorrectly treats it as a Dot because technically it has a duration? and that it will be fixed when DB drops? On top of that you will need to pop it on a certain number of people in order to get high dps off it once patched?

As a side note, I have been having a lot of fun throwing stone giant at sorcs as they run at me with proxy on, tagging them with innev. det and interrupting crystal frag with force crush, then they bolt away back to their friends and explode mid-bolt. Mwahahahahaha!

For what it is worth, my experience has been Ad ganks, Dc zergs, and Ep fight toe to toe.

Thing is this way the same way Shield Breaker started just give it a week or 2 for the hype to die down.

      Nope, still there.

Put it on my templar the other day. Finally got sick and tired of fighting 3 to 1 so invested in it. Proxy, immovable pot, ice comet, toppling charge in, bye group. Great fun.

Just levelling siege shield now so I can also stand back and Radiant from 50m away if there's a big zerg knocking at the door of a keep.
