Like seriously there is 0 new content in this update other than the odd fix here and there and the crown store. Im assuming all these massive downloads are due to them being lazy and making us redownload things we already have and honestly im tired of it. Aside from the crown store and the odd fix here and there, what new content is there to download? Just like 1.6. we had what the new CP system and the justice system yet somehow we had a 25 gig download. What are console players going to do? 500gb limit on HDs for consoles. They'll have to use up like half their HD for ESO lol. And patch notes...... Im fine with maintenance and understand it completely. I know for a FACT that patch notes are finalized before the server comes down. Why not give us some time to read them while the server is down? For me each massive patch takes most of a whole day to down load so I guess I have plenty of time to read but seriously why the wait for patch notes? Theyre always released with grammatical errors, and misinformation any how so why the delay lol. Proper maintenance takes time.
The server is still full of little old ladies with mops and buckets of hot water, and they're only half way through.
Don't rush them, or the window glass will be streaky when they leave.

They already said today's patch will be 1-2GB. Patch size have very little if nothing to do with how long a maintenance period is.
They do a lot more during maintenance then just patch the client and server. Also keep in mind today is the last maintenance before Tamriel Unlimited launch tomorrow. The account management page is down right now as well. Lots of behind the scenes and database stuff going on. Setting up every current and existing account to have access to the game, making sure ESO plus gets applied to those currently sub'd, making sure every single current and existing account since launch gets the right amount of crowns based on current and past months sub'd. Most of the work is probably being done on the billing/account management side of things which they def do not want to screw up.

Most of the data is tweaked textures and sounds. Remember the 8-10gb minor patch that retouched sounds? Those take up a lot of space.
As far as console goes, the patches will most likely be much smaller and take up less space. Consoles are all going to have the same graphics, sound quality, etc. There won't be a need to have certain texture sizes nor will there be anything in the data written for specific hardware differences. In fact the console client is apparently 64-bit. I want 64-bit on PC.1 -

They apparently hired a new coder who actually knows how to code the patching of individual files rather than just creating a new blob database for you to download. So todays patch is only about 2gb.I've been muted since November 2017 because of the whiny crybabies on this forum and the liberal ZOS employees coddling them.3 -

Seriously though, we're waiting on a few things from the patch notes to get verified, then we'll get them published, likely within an hour or so. In the meantime, we'll take @MissBizz's suggestion and give you a few new notes to chew on:- Fixed an issue where Nirnhoned was ignoring all of a target’s Spell Resistance instead of the value specified in the tooltip.
- Fixed an issue where you would receive a repair message when you weren’t repairing any items.
- Health bars will no longer disappear when zoning to a new area.
