Can't say i have suffered from any of those problems myself...

Had a slight issue with loading screens. Really bad lag & game freezes on Saturday night (New Zealand time), was not the only one. Tonight it's really bad download speeds.

It isn't just you @Grapdjan. I experienced similar issues during early access and right after official launch, and some recent performance issues associated with Update 6 are among the worst I've seen, which are all clearly tied to latency. The server side is going on with the game but isn't communicating fast enough with the client side, so you get a situation where your character may be stuck in a pose, and even if not cannot use abilities, interact with the world, etc. If in battle this means that when you re-start the game your character will be dead, and was probably already dead when you were still running around with the world frozen from your perspective.

I disabled add-ons, repaired the game, checked/rebooted my internet hardware, and so on, even though the few add-ons I use never cause problems and even though my internet is clearly working fine, the same as always. All drivers are up to date, computer is well within specs for running the game at a decent level of performance, etc. It just seems like during certain (random?) periods things get really bad and even unplayable.

I noticed it either yesterday or the night before, after going to VR3 Greenshade (DC cohort) in the NA server. This sever lag only happens there so far, and not all of the time. But when it does it is awful. Not sure why I've only experienced it in Greenshade. I may simply have been in other zones when things weren't as bad, or maybe it is just something wrong with that zone. I am really trying to get through it quickly though.

I thought for a while yesterday that disabling add-ons helped, but that now looks like a spurious correlation as I added them back in one by one and saw no performance change. It seems that what periods of improvement tend to have in common after gale-force lag is restarting the game. Maybe there is something that is not clearing properly for some zones, builds, abilities, etc?

I suppose that it could be an add-on causing something not to clear, though I've seen people commenting about similar issues who claim that they don't used them. Just in case I've disabled one that I am suspicious of for the time being and will try to finish my current zone and see what difference that makes.

OK, well, don't know that any of that will help but I wanted to pass it along. In any case good luck, I am sure this has been a stressful weak for community reps, help center staff, and the devs exploring the performance issues.

Something to try would be to flush the DNS cache before launching the game.

Open a command prompt (type CMD)

Then in the command prompt window type: ipconfig /flushdns

This sometime worked in other MMORGPs.

I am guessing the issues from this and similar threads are the result of combining previously minor or invisible issues hidden in patches from the past few months when the player population was lower, along with unexpected effects of changes in the latest update, with the large numbers of returning and new players who are popping in. If so, I am expecting it to get much worse next week when the game goes B2P. I suspect they are trying as hard as they can to avoid that awesomely disastrous PR nightmare.
