give me a way to costumize my own tabard and ill wear it all the time, force me to join a guild i dont want to be in and waste a guild slot only because of a good-looking tabard and i wont wear it at all. simple as that.

And who is "forcing" you to join a guild? No one. Makes your point rather moot but if someone actually is forcing you to join then the real question there is why take it? I mean really...

    I even run a guild :/

I would wear one for guild events, in any of my guilds... however none of my guilds run events at the moment, and I don't run any in my own either - so no reason to wear any.

It ruins my cleverly dyed outfit so no.

I remember in WOW when you could actually recognise some players' guild just based on their tabard!

I spend a lot of time choosing my armor styles and colours. Not about to cover it up with a table cloth!

If it was more of an emblem on my armor or shield I would consider it though.

Can't use a tabard. I'm a Sorc so I'd be forced to have bound armor showing. For me it's either:
    A. Being stylish, but without guild pride
    B. Show guild pride, but look ugly as hell
    C. Be ineffective but while being stylish and showing guild pride.

I joined 4 guilds, all were going strong first couple of weeks, now I am the only one playing each day, everyone else seems to have moved on :'(

I don't think it's so much that everyone has moved on, I think it's the fact that we can join 5 guilds at a time and that does not promote guild unity, you don't tend to feel loyal to the one guild like you do in other games and your time gets spread between multiple social groups, so you end up drifting away from them.

I really have no interest in anything but sales and supplies in most of my guilds. If it would help we could just call those trade associations. And for those I very much like having more than one. It give me multiple places to look for the best price to buy and the best price to sell.

I really only do raids/adventures with one of my guilds, so if I was to wear an ugly tabbard, it would be theirs.

    ^This.

A lot of armor has some sort of symbol on the chest. If we could replace that with guild heraldry, I might do that. But cover up my beautiful, lovingly crafted armor? Perish the thought.

I only wear mine in PvP so as to stand out more. Seeing a white tabard really makes you stick out like a sour thumb in a group of mostly Black/Red armor and that tends to attract more people towards you, which is exactly what you want as a tanky character ;)

No I dont. But not for any reason stated as an option to vote for. I never buy them. I have no clue what they look like before I buy them. If their completely and totally hideous I will just have wasted 2000 coins. Sure its easy to get that 2k back, but thats no reason to waste money. There should be an option to preview a guild tabard, see how it looks. Then if one likes it you buy it.

Think of all the new players to the game, or just a new character. Poor and low level, also harder to make money. Should they really spend 2k for something they might hate? Nope. Thats kind of devious, buy the tabard to see how it looks. And maybe regret it later. But regardless those 2k are gone.

I wear my main guild tabard quiet often. ( Here is me and a member of one of our "sister" guilds showing her's). We let the guild mates help with design, and after several try's we got one everyone is happy with!
    28ujp51.png

I have a tabard for all 5 of my guilds. I am proud of all of them and wish to show my support!
Now!! If only the guilds got to keep the 2k they cost, considering we pay to make them and get nothing when they are purchased.. Thoughts of changing this Zos?

I wore tabard only on official missions, such as sieging, pillaging or summary executions of civilians suspected of uncovenant behaviour. I did not wear tabard while on unofficial missions or while committing war crimes, such as collecting skyshards instead of contributing to the war effort, for sake of plausible deniability. I always had it in the inventory though, so I could equip it in case of capture and prevent being shot on spot for spying.

I've never liked tabards in games, cause for the most part they're ugly. I've only ever worn them to show a connection to the guild I'm in, but this game having 5 guilds, I don't feel a 'part' of any of them.
