Zoning/Loading screens take forever now

As the topic says.
Ever since the update my loading time takes 30 seconds or more (guessing).
This was not an issue on PTS and it certainly wasn't an issue prior to this update.
I am not referring to the endless loading screen that's been around since beta.

You are not imaging things...I'm currently stuck in a load screen for a delve at 3 minutes now.

I concur. this morning transitioning into the game initially took 10 mins, and a delve took 20 mins. Since that time, it is much faster and is around 20 seconds or less, yet it is still taking longer than it used to.

I'm experiencing the same issue. All loading screens are significantly longer than pre patch. It's getting beyond annoying already.

Yup. Same here. The loading screen for in between zones takes at least 10 times longer than before this update. Wayshrining within a zone doesn't take as long, but is longer than before the update.

I have experienced it every single time.

I have a suspicion that the long loading times have to do with server capacity/load rather than the patch itself.

This sort of issue often pops up when the server is under heavy load. When you switch zones, the megaserver tries to allocate you to a instanced version of that zone. If the server is nearing or at capacity, it won't be able to find an "empty spot" for you to load into, hence it sits at the loading screen until it can.

This issue has popped up now and then since the beta whenever the servers are under heavy load. Since a drastically larger number of people are playing since the patch, it would make sense that this issue would appear again, versus last week, when the servers were relatively unencumbered. It seems to be a common problem every patch when the more casual players return to view the new content, and then when they stop playing nearly as much in a week or two, the issue disappears.

I don't think this is the case. It has always been thing when a new update launches and I know for certain the "heavy load" is not "heavy" on a weekly work day at 1-2pm EST. When this happens to regular patches that don't even provide new content, it's kind of telling. In other words, I don't think people are skipping work to log in and test something like a fixed quest or potion change. ;)

Yeah, 4 min loading screens and sometimes even when walking in the city.

My sorc has been trying to enter the harborage for like 3 hours. I'm not joking. I literally closed down the client tried to re-enter and would let it sit there for 20-25 minutes each time.

I am having the same issues. Tried to enter a dungeon in Stonefalls last night and had to kill the game twice because I sat there on a loading screen for 20 minutes. There should not be any reason for the server to have issues placing me in a dungeon that had one person in it. Both of my characters are in the vet zones and they are not at capacity by any means. I gave up on Stonefalls last night and decided to head to Craglorn. It was horrid trying to get spawned in so I just gave up.

IF this is a server farm capacity issue then someone sitting at their desk monitoring the loads could easily see it. They had to know this extra content plus player base would be a huge hit on the servers.

Tried to quest with my V2 in Stonefalls this morning and lasted five minutes before logging out. Every single time I hit the I key or C or anything to do with a menu I get a loading screen. When I finally get back into the game I am in the blue sky falling to my death mode then another loading screen. After this loading screen I am back in the correct zone but almost dead from the fall. PVP seems to be working better than before but I feel at the expense of the PVE areas. Just have a feeling that instead of adding more hardware to deal with the load they knew was coming, they pulled resources from the servers in the farm that deal with PVE to off set the PVP hit. Just an opinion from someone that deals with networks, servers and codes.

Hey could I get a response to confirm you all know about this issue and plan on doing something or even keeping it as is? As much traveling as I do, I almost don't wanna log on. I put in about a weeks worth of hours on PTS for this update and I never had this problem.

    Greetings all!

If you have not yet submitted a ticket, please be sure to either submit one at https://help.elderscrollsonline.com or let us know and we'll be happy to submit one on your behalf. This will help our agents narrow down the cause of the problem by reviewing your information.

Please try to include the following:

    - What server are you playing on?
    - Have you tried on the other server with the same results?
    - Include a game consultant and MSinfo report (instructions are behind the spoiler tag below)
    - Did you submit a bug report while in game?
    - Where are you when this is happening in game?

Game Consultant captures technical information that can be vital to troubleshooting hardware issues and generates a report. It is a specialized diagnostic tool designed to identify issues that may affect the play experience in The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. Please attach a copy of the Game Consultant report to any technical support request.

Here is how to find and use it:
•Click on the golden cog icon in the top right corner of the game launcher.
•Under SETTINGS - LAUNCHER, select the ABOUT tab. This tab includes the current launcher version, minimum specifications, and information about Game Consultant.
•Click the Game Consultant button beneath the tool description.
•A new window will pop up. When it does, click Run Tests. This may take a few minutes.
•When the test is complete, a new window will pop up saying "Success The report saves itself as a text file called Report.txt in the My Documents folder.
•To retrieve the file, click the Open Report Location button on the Game Consultant window, or click Open Report to simply view it.

Check out ESO Help channel for a step-by-step video on how to use The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Game Consultant - http://youtu.be/3fNqpZE_4rs

Game Consultant is also available for direct download at the following links (add the link in a browser and press Run): http://goo.gl/IqHMne

Please note that MSInfo is only a diagnostic tool that collects technical information on computers. It is usually needed by technical support agents to isolate specific issues. Here are the necessary steps to create an MSInfo:
    •Click Start, then Run
•Type msinfo32 in the Run box, and click OK
•While viewing the System Summary node, go to File and select Export
•Save the MSINFO32 report as msinfo32.txt on the desktop for easy access

Now that the report has been generated, it can be attached to help requests as needed. Please note that the file is very large, so it should not be copy/pasted into the contents of an e-mail.

How to run MSinfo32 on Windows Vista, 7, and 8.
    •Press Windows Key R
•Type msinfo32 in the Search box, and click OK
•While viewing the System Summary node, go to File and select Export
•Save the MSINFO32 report as msinfo32.txt on the desktop for easy access

Now that the report has been generated, it can be attached to help requests as needed. Please note that the file is very large, so it should not be copy/pasted into the contents of an e-mail.

    For Mac Customers:

Mac customers will need to generate a System Profiler report rather than an MSInfo file. To generate a System Profiler report, follow the instructions below:
    •Open a new Finder window
•Go to Applications, then Utilities and Terminal
    •Type the following
    system_profiler >~/Desktop/Report.txt

•Wait for the next line to appear in Terminal (This shows the file is finished)
•Locate the Report.txt on your Desktop

Mac players requesting help from Customer Support should send this information in their next e-mail to us so that we can better assist with any issues.

@ZOS_MollyH The loading screen issue is present for everyone playing on PC. It's longer for some more than others. I have yet to have an endless loading screen let alone one that lasted several minutes. There are players that are experiencing an extreme case however these seem to be a low minority.

I appreciate you responding to this thread, could you please forward this to those that will be able to get this on the "fix" list?

I had a guildie waste 25 minutes of his xp pot just on loading screens yesterday. Spent 5 minutes trying to zone into Fungal Grotto, task managered that away, relog, spend 3 minutes loading into Rivenspire again, then try to port to Fungal Grotto. Spent 5 minutes in a load screen before I task managered that away again. Spent 3 minutes logging back into Rivenspire again, then 3 minutes loading into Fungal Grotto which worked the third time. Multiply this wonderful experience by 4 group members.

Please fix this ASAP. Spending this much time on load screens is driving me crazy.

This is issue is progressively getting worse, I have had intermittent issues over the course of yesterday and part of today. This afternoon it is unbearable, among other issues which our addressed in other threads. Really hope this isn't a server capacity issue, because that usually is a kiss of death in my book. Some honesty to the issue would be fantastic, then I might actually have some patience.

Add my name to the list of unhappy SUBSCRIBERS! What is the deal with the absurdly long transition screens? Sometimes I have to crash the client because it never loads. I quit waiting at 5-6 minutes This has gotten worse with Update 7. It is taking the fun out of the game.

    - What server are you playing on? - US.
    - Have you tried on the other server with the same results? - No, should I?
    - Include a game consultant and MSinfo report (instructions are behind the spoiler tag below) - Its not on our end. If it was only 1 person out of all those who play, then maybe, just MAYBE it would be local to thier client, but look at the list of people. Its YOUR end.
    - Did you submit a bug report while in game? - Can't exactly submit a bug report if you can't load into game, now can you?
    - Where are you when this is happening in game? - er.. NOWHERE, obviously they CANNOT LOG IN!

Seems, as with many previous issues I've noticed the game has had, your trying to get your customers to 'fix' the issues for you. This is bad for business. At least if/when they DO find a fix, give the credit where it's due. (Also being upfront and honest and saying that maybe its because your servers are being bogged down, that its a code error, etc would be nice. Contrary to what you have been taught in 'developers school of telling the customers what they want' transparency between a business and its clientele improves customer loyalty.

4 minutes waiting for the delve. By the time it loads, it will be time to go to work.

While I wait, I think I'll head over to account maintenance...
