Huge Bank Glitch

My bank glitched on me last night. I had just finished cleaning out some of my second character's inventory by depositing some stuff in the bank. I moved crafting items I had found all afternoon, a blue ring from a quest, and some junk items to take apart. Well, today I noticed that not only are those items gone, but my thousands of banked gold (can't remember how much I banked, but it was at least 3,000+) are also missing and the size of my bank went back to default size. I had expanded my bank many times to the point that the next expansion would cost about 6,500 gold, and it was not default size with the next expansion at 1,000 gold. I submitted a ticket, but the last ones I submitted, they basically ignored and sent me horrible responses. Has this happened to anyone else with their bank?

    Yes this happened to me last night, pretty much exactly the same way. I had actually already purchased the 6600g level as well. It reset the bank back to default slot size. It also reset all characters to default game settings, meaning the next character I created, for example, could not skip the tutorial start, etc.

    I lost banked gold and 30 slots of item stacks, weapons and armor.

    I submitted a ticket and they told me it was a problem many people were having, they were aware of it, and working on it and would let me know when they had a fix.

    Sigh.

    This has happened to many people just do a search on here and there's thread after thread. They are aware of it but make sure you add a ticket asap. If you have any screenshots of your bank, those would help too. I would advice at this point that everyone takes some screenshots in case disputes arise.

    Hey Zenimax, take a look at this youtube clip of another user who caught the bug in action, if you don't believe us ! We have yet to hear anything other than the "you sent a help request" or "don't worry we are investigating this issue" message about this issue. And please also restore the gold we lost, as well as the slots.

    And move your asses, this bug was signaled during betas.

    They had a mail duplication bug which is why the servers were brought down for an entire day in Early Access.

    I wonder if this is related to the fix somehow.

    I do not believe this bug was happening in BETA or Early Access at all. But may be wrong on that we might not just have heard about it.

    With pretty minimal effort, I found forum posts reporting this bug dated April 1st. So, yes, it has been happening for a while.

    The vanishing bank bug seems to be related to the Re-Pre-Order Reward mail bug. That is to say, myself and many others have experienced the vanishing bank issue immediately after re-receiving the first piece of in-game mail we received, the Pre-Order Reward mail containing treasure maps and pets and whatnot.

    Can anyone else confirm this?

    It happened to me last night. I was immediately unbearably furious and sent in a ticket about the issue, then logged off to try and calm down. About 2 hours later I logged back on and ALMOST everything had returned. My bank had been expanded a couple times orignally, that had not been restored but MOST of the items were back in. Obviously some were missing (if I went from bank space of 80 down to 60, I lost 20 items). I have not received any sort of response from customer service about the ticket I submitted so it seems to have sorted itself out.

    My advice, submit the ticket, go play with your dog, eat a sandwich, watch some Game of Thrones, then try and log back in. Maybe it'll be fixed. :)

    Confirmed, went from 110 slots to 60 and lost 50 stacks. Imperial Edition emails were re-sent and in my mail box.

    Confirmed ruleroftheblind. They did send those in game mails to me also. I had thought after finding all my bank stuff gone, maybe that was some kind of automatic response when the bank screwed up or something. Idk, it was so weird. I didn't ask for them, I wasn't missing any items from my set, and the only ticket I sent beforehand was related to being unable to set a home campaign (to which they sent me an email saying that if they didn't hear from me in 130 hours, the problem must have fixed itself). I did beta since around November and I never saw this bug before. Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one. I thought other people were just missing items, not that the banks reverted or stole back gold. This should have been in the patch today. :(

    This problem is recent. It happened to me last night. I submitted tickets but haven't received any clear response stating it will be addressed only that the ticket was escalated.

    Early this morning I received a duplicate set of imperial edition, beta testing and preorder emails. I didn't open them and reported the problem as I thought it was strange (in fact I haven't opened most of my old emails due to inventory concerns). About two hours later I went to my bank and my 100 spaces were reset to 60 and all of my gold and inventory was gone!

    I filed a ticket on the problem, logged out for a bit, logged back in and checked the bank. The good news was that 60 of my 100 items were back. The bad news was that my bank space was still reset to the start and I was missing the 40 other items and my banked gold. Rare equipment (Warlock items for instance) and scarce crafting materials were among things that are not back in my bank.

    So I updated my ticket and was told the issue was escalated. I also sent a report using the link you sent Jessica. Needless to say for someone who loves to craft this is a game-breaking issue. Not being able to pass items for deconstruction or to even trust that the bank will not wipe my things out again is a game stopping issue for me. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

    I haven't had an issue again, but also haven't had anything replaced. I've tried to reproduce the circumstances that i thought might have caused it, but so far no luck. I didn't ever loose all the purchased slots nor have a purchased any new slots since the issue began. Odd thing is that others seem to get ALL their imperial edition items in the mail again, but i only ever recieved an extra crab.

    This occured for me just last night (April 6th) around 10cst/11est. I was in my account in PVE and had just moved items into the bank, got done, re-recieved the emails (didn't understand those), and then went to my crafting character to take apart the weapons I put in the bank only to discover them missing. I didn't realize the extent of my bank problem (the missing gold and slots) until this morning at 10/11 am. So yes, it was very recent.

    This has been going on for a week now. I have filed 3 tickets so far. I lost a 10 slot upgrade. All my items came back after a couple of logouts/logins, but I had less than 60 items at the time.

    I recommend that you do not purchase any bank upgrade until this is fixed, a lot of folks who re-purchased their slots lost the new ones as well.

    It happened to me yesterday around noon EDT. I was playing on my main all morning, went to the bank and deposited a bunch of stuff, switched one by one to my various alts to collect & decon the stuff I deposited, and then it when I logged back into my main I had 5 new mail messages waiting for me - repeats of the 5 I had received last sunday as part of the digital rewards & beta involvement.

    I then opened my bank and found that it was empty and only had 60 slots, instead of the 90 I had before. After a bit of panic I opened a ticket with customer service, and then logged out and back in. When I logged back in, my bank was at 53/60 full, with half of my stuff being returned. The other half were in my characters inventory. I didn't have any gold stored in the bank to begin with so that's not a concern.

    So I haven't lost anything, other than the 11k+ spent on the bank upgrades. I'm not sure if the mail dupes have anything to do with the bank resetting or if it's a coincidence. The biggest thing is that I can't trust the bank right now, and am keeping everything stored on alts. Micro managing my inventory like this is extremely frustrating to say the least.

    I have already lost two bank upgrades twice, for a grand total of 8600 gold lost, plus some item stacks the second time around (first time most of the excess stuff went into one of my alt's inventories).

    This is game breaking. 60 slots is not enough to manage my 6 characters, and this seems to be a function of the game suddenly thinking, while you switch to an alt - that is how it has always happened from the posts I've read -, that you have a new account, thus resetting your bank to standard size and re-mailing the Imperial Edition's bonuses to you.

    I am already losing time on my free 30 days to this problem, since I refuse to play a game that keeps setting me back constantly.

    We need this FIXED. I already have a "conversation" going through the support system, but the "conversation" is more of a monologue, since I have yet to get a second communication from the support rep after the first one, where he asked for my secret question answer and the name of the character that I was playing at the time.

    Happened to me 20 minutes ago. Just upgraded my Bank from 80 to 90 slots, spent almost 10k money in the upgrades. Now my bank is reset to 60 Slots, the gold inside disappeared too.

    Also when i tried to create a new character i had to do the tutorial again, the system doesnt let me skip. I got Pre Order and CE Mails again as well. Maybe not too bad because i lost some CE maps during the bank glitch...

    I ran into this on Saturday.
    Same problems as everyone else. Upgraded to 80 slot, it went back to 60. Lost all my items in the bank. The game also thinks I'm a new player and resent me all the preorder stuff, as well as won't let me skip Coldharbour.

    I put in a ticket the same day and have yet to hear a word about it. I'd be a lot more okay with the bug if I'd at least get a "we're looking into it". It's quite a progress stopper of a bug =p

    I submitted a support ticket for this on Saturday, when it occurred the 1st time for me. I received an email response back from support (the "Molag Bal minions" one) but haven't heard a peep since. Note that this bank/gold "reset" appears to coincide with:
    1. Receiving (another) in-game emails with the various pre-order/Imperial bonus items. So far, I've got 3 sets of the bonus items.
    2. Not being able to log in based on an "unrecognized" IP.

    Are you referring to something different than what I submitted to support on Saturday?

    This is a huge issue and highlights the weakness of the current ticketing system being used. A number of people have this issue that pretty much breaks the game for them and there has been no feedback and no real way to followup on open tickets. Others are impacted because they don't want to pull the trigger to upgrade there slots and are forced to deal with inventory issues because of it.

    Tickets go into a black hole and relieve Zenimax of any urgency to get back to paying customers because they don't have access to the problem tickets they open. Basic customer service tools seem like an afterthought when most off the shelf systems (like a server rental or webhosting company deploys) would handle this issue.

    Is there going to be any updates on this issue or do we have to go a whole week or more before people can actually use the bank as intended?

    I just had an identical problem 15 minutes ago. I submitted a ticket and came looking on the forums for answers. Sad to see that we aren't getting any.

    Has ANYONE gotten this issue resolved?

    I'm wary of playing if I'm going to lose tens of thousands of gold worth of progress into a blackhole.

    Well, it just happened again. I've now received 4 in-game promo packages and, with each set, I get hit with the bank/gold reset. After it first occurred on Saturday (when I first reported the issue to the support team), I've neither deposited gold into the bank, nor upgraded the space. I saw that others had gone and re-upgraded and got hit with this; what's the ETA on a fix?

    just happened to me as well, got a 2nd set of emails for all my pre-order and imperial version bonuses. played all day went to my bank to put some items away before bed and got reset from 100 slots back to 60 and lost 35-40 items.
    to me this is game breaking cause seems like alot of people having this problem and no one is getting their stuff back or compensated for what they lost. unforgivable. now like others i'm gunna sit here and wait cause i don't wana play either knowing i lost stuff, can't store anything more, and also knowing it might happen again. and now my free 30 days are also gunna be wasting away.
    i was having a blast with this game too, playing every day since early access, but if i don't get my stuff back then gg eso. maybe i'll come back in 6 months when beta is done but most likely not cause if i leave i'm gunna lose my 30 free days as well and that'll just put me in the state of mind of cut your loses and move on....

    This just happened to me about 30 minutes ago. Went from 80 slots to 60 and lost all the items. I relogged and open my bank and it was filled with my items but only up to 60 slots. I sent an out of game ticket as the game kept crashing as I was trying to type an ingame ticket.
    This is a major bug and needs to fixed and your ingame CS needs to be looked at.

    Yeah, this is really bad and very game-breaking to have such a fear of a very simple mechanic (banking) that all other mmos I've played seem to get right.

    I sent in my first ticket the night this happened and all they sent me was a short survey asking if I was satisfied with their customer service experience. They did not get a happy response. I sent another ticket yesterday and was answered back. They actually did write (in the smallest text of the whole letter, as if whispering) that they are aware of the problem and looking into a fix and said they'd use the ticket for more information about what causes the issue. Then, today, I get an email from the first ticket basically disregarding the thing by telling me they released a patch recently that resolved most of the community's issues and perhaps my problem was resolved with the patch too, bye (meaning that they are ignoring that ticket).

    So yeah, nothing resolved, but they do claim to be working on a fix, but there's no set time for when that'll arrive yet. I don't ever expect to get my stuff back though. I think the bug is permanent.

    Mujoro, you pinned it! I've had those same issues surrounding this bug. No IP recognition after that and all new IE in-game mails. Haven't tried making a new character yet, but from reading everyone's posts, I suspect I'd have to redo the tutorial as well.

    I also read somewhere where somebody pointed out that when switching characters, the bug must kick in when the game somehow recognizes your switched character as a brand new character and sets the game to certain defaults (such as the reduced bank slots, no gold, missing items until log out/in, new rewards, no tutorial completion, and as stated above, no IP recognition). So, it sounds like this bug only happens to people with multiple characters and only when switching between them.

    Hope they figure this out soon because I do love the game, but I hate how deep this bug cuts into the experience.

    @ZOS_JessicaFolsom for me this happened on 8th Apr. If we had logged a report thru in-game help, do we have to go to the website link and create another report?

    Also can we reupgrade my bank slot again, or should we wait for the lost slots to be reinstated. This bug imho is game breaking and do we have a ETA on a solution or reinstatement of lost items?
