It happened to me last night. I was immediately unbearably furious and sent in a ticket about the issue, then logged off to try and calm down. About 2 hours later I logged back on and ALMOST everything had returned. My bank had been expanded a couple times orignally, that had not been restored but MOST of the items were back in. Obviously some were missing (if I went from bank space of 80 down to 60, I lost 20 items). I have not received any sort of response from customer service about the ticket I submitted so it seems to have sorted itself out.
My advice, submit the ticket, go play with your dog, eat a sandwich, watch some Game of Thrones, then try and log back in. Maybe it'll be fixed.

Also, when did this occur? We were aware of an issue impacting some people a few days ago. Was this recent?

Same problems as everyone else. Upgraded to 80 slot, it went back to 60. Lost all my items in the bank. The game also thinks I'm a new player and resent me all the preorder stuff, as well as won't let me skip Coldharbour.
I put in a ticket the same day and have yet to hear a word about it. I'd be a lot more okay with the bug if I'd at least get a "we're looking into it". It's quite a progress stopper of a bug =p

Its already been a week for me. I hear others have been reporting this since beta.
