Add stamina cost for jumping

Let's get rid of weaving too. And increase the gcd to 2 seconds. Stam cost on jumping does not go far enough. It's also not fair that I should be encouraged to get good. They should just bring out sets that are overpowered and do everything for me. An aoe stun and chain with massive damage should do it. People pushing buttons fast scares me and ruins my immersion. It's not right that other people should have more skill than me. I don't want to have to try. It should be given to me.

Y'all think too small. Make jumping cost health.

Cost magicka, because it damages brain -_-

Why not have all those things break/roll/block/jump cost a little bit of all 3 stats mag/stam/hlth? Then increase cost of stam skills to same as mag.

Because actions like breaking, rolling, sprinting, and blocking are physical actions and so should deplete physical endurance or as its called in ESO, Stamina. They aren't magical abilities. Having them cost Magicka and Health as well would be weired and lorebreaking for no particular reason.

I think after riding a horse my character should walk slower cos in real life he would have a sore bottom.

Then why does blocking with an ice staff cost magika. It is funny some people talk about common sense and immersion when it suits their argument and don't care about it when it doesn't. And BTW to me heath isn't far off when talking about 'endurance'. My point is that long ago when ZOS started trying to balance Stam with Mag, mostly for PVP, and started making a bunch of class skills Stam based, they kind of lost the concept of Stam being only about combat mechanics and physical weapon. Will they go back or continue on same path which is making those mechs use both mag/stam and I added health for good measure. No one can say but it isn't as obvious as you imply and logic isn't really applicable if past decisions are considered.

What happens if you're australian? I practically grew up with kangaroos and now have spontaneous erratic jumping syndrome every second. On a much more serious note this change is definitely not needed as this is a playstyle issue I and others cannot for the life of us stop doing on this game. Magicka or Stamina people would always be out of sustain.

if it had a cost you wouldnt see people using it with programable controllers\keyboards any more. honestly it looks so dumb when a fight starts and the person starts the constant jump while shooting off all the abilities then stop then about 20 seconds after the fight they turn it off.

What is good in jumping? Or hard?

It just look ridiculous, destroys any kind of immersion and is totally overused in pvp.

So as jumping turned into mechanics to avoid damage, it deserves to be limited by resources or get consequences if hit land on them while in the air.

Why especially for me.? And yes, I honestly don't see a problem with the jump mechanic.. but if we entertain the thought that there is one, I haven't seen any good solutions so far, except maybe one that could have potential

And you could, as you can jump on horseback, but not jumping constantly for hours, especially in heavy armour ^^

It’s a really good defensive ability, just like dodge rolling. Should have a stamina cost

Look, I hate bunny hopping as much as the next person, but "immersion" and "what would happen in real life" are invalid arguments.

This is a game where a heavy swing of your weapon restores your stamina. A game where if you die, you just get right back up on the spot as a ghost for a few seconds. A game where in the main quest line, we are killed, have our soul taken from us by a Daedric Prince, fight said Daedric Prince to have our soul restored, but then are "feared" by a lion in Volenfell.

I'm a sucker for immersion as much as the next guy, but ESO ain't where you're gonna find it. "Immersion" is the wrong argument against bunny hopping.

I’m missing something here, if constantly jumping didn’t give some sort of advantage then why do it? And if it is an advantage it should have a stamina cost.

it does have several advantages, and it needs to be looked at and given a stamina cost.

and ofcourse im referring only to "during combat"

    List them.
I never had problem to kill jumping people and jumping never saved my life from a mistake in pve.

it is against the forum rules to teach exploits.

If the only reason you want to add a stamina cost to jumping is because of an alleged exploit that you can't talk about, the more reasonable thing to ask for would be a fix for the exploit. Have you tried putting in a ticket?

As far as I know, the only benefit jumping around like a maniac in PVP gives you is it might make you marginally more difficult to target. But if people want to focus you down they will just hit tab.

If there is some weird glitch where if you are inside an AOE circle but in the air when it ticks then you don't take damage from that tick, then the solution is to fix the obvious glitch not build a Rube Goldbergian house of plates around a broken mechanic.

BTW folks, arguments towards "immersion" in a video game are not the same as arguments towards "real life" despite that the usual suspects in these types of threads purposefully confuse such over and over again and have for decades now.

For one example among a million possible, crown store fire truck mounts in ESO would be anti-immersive for almost all players but at the same comport with "real life." You're welcome.

So please stop the fallacious, purposeful confusion when people make a valid complaint about bunny hopping in MMO PvP being anti immersive. What is or is not "immersive" is admittedly subjective, but in the case of bunny hopping, is likely very broadly and widely subjective among a large portion of players, IMO and IME a very large majority.

I don't see how people jumping is any more of an exploit than being ganked from cloak. A person hopping around is targetable and able to be fought. As for immersion, we'll... you might want immersive role play. I don't. So you play your way and I will play mine, and I would appreciate it if you would stop immersion shaming me.

No. Instead make jumping not cancel the sprinting momentum, it's just dumb and frustrating. Right now I can pull it off in maybe 1 out of 10 jumps.

Sure, as long as it's ONLY implemented in PvP areas and doesn't affect PvE portions of the game at all. Otherwise it makes the "exploration" part of the game hellish.

Should also be stamina cost for mounting, dismounting and definitely for swinging those weapons! Seriously, how in the world does one "gain" stamina from swinging a heavy weapon at an opponent?

Would like to see stamina cost increased for every swing of a weapon until the character can no longer move and has to rest just like in the real world.

    Yep, make it happen!

    Sarcasm folks.
