Frequently, Error 104 is due to an anti-virus program blocking the patch. In some circumstances, the exception will need to be removed and re-added back as an exception to your antivirus program.
The application files that may require exceptions are:
- Bethesda.net_launcher: C:\Program Files (x86)\ZenimaxOnline\Launcher
- ESO.exe: C:\Program Files (x86)\ZenimaxOnline\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\eso.exe
- ESO64.exe: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\eso64.exe
- Steam.exe: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe
Some antivirus programs require entire folders to be selected instead of a single file. When this is the case, the file paths below are what players should use. If required by the anti-virus program, include all subfolders since every file is critical to run the game.
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\
There are some additional troubleshooting steps for Error 104 in the thread below.
Can't repair the client with 40GB free, not enough disk space error (104) - edit: error 1112 and 210
This makes me wonder whether the launcher looks at the available space on C:
After a Repair, which the launcher seems to want to do, is it possible to clear off enough space on C: to make the launcher happy?

Yea I wonder that too, I only have 44 GB left on my C drive, but the article doesnt mention that at all, it only says you need space on whatever drive the game is on, it would be a pretty bad thing to forget to mention lol.
