Patcher Updates
We’ve made several updates and changes to the ESO patcher in this update.
- The patcher will no longer have a selection for the NA and EU realms. Instead, the selection will now be made in-game.
- You will receive a pop-up when you first log in after this update to choose a preferred realm.
- If you have characters on both realms and frequently switch, you can find this option under Settings on the login screen.
- Known Issue: The patcher will still display “The Elder Scrolls Online (NA)” as the main server. However, both NA and EU are accessible by selecting that realm. This will be fixed in a future patch.
- The PTS will still be accessible in the patcher if you have that option selected to display.
- There will no longer be a red/green light indicating the realm status on the patcher.
- This is something we’re exploring as an addition in a future update.
- The image on the installer and the background of the patcher has been changed to a new image of the Tamrielic map.
- If you regularly play on both realms and run different settings for add-ons, these settings will be reverted to default.
- There will be an update to the patcher that we encourage you to download before attempting to launch the game after the maintenance for this update is complete.

You'll need to download the update first (it should only be about 2.3GB), then you can remove the EU folder. If you do it the other way around, you'll need to re-download the entire game.

And how do i download the patch first, it only gives me the huge chunk install option oO
I had to actually rename my ESO folder to prevent a new download...
Is it also intended that its downloading & installing the whole game not just the patch? ^^

how this works excatly can u explain so i can do it too ?
I'm greatly annoyed. The updated launcher asked me to update vc_resist every time I opened it. So I said yes, and it instantly reboot my computer to install updates... and closed out applications I had work in that was unsaved.

Go into the Zenimax Folder and simply erase the EU part of the "The Elder Scrolls Online EU" folder.
seems to work, i hope -.-
Um, you should never ever update any software if you have applications open that you wouldn't want force-closed.I'm greatly annoyed. Yes, that's exactly it. You'll no longer need 2 separate installations to play on NA and EU.Karacule_Fairystar wrote: »Will this new feature brought about the conclusion that I will no longer have to download EU client if I want to play on EU, and I''m originally on NA?

- The patcher will display the server as NA, but this is a display error that will be fixed soon. Server selection (NA or EU) can be chosen once you log in.
- The size of the patch should be about 2.3GB. Let the update fully run; the step for verification sometimes makes it look like the patch is much larger than it actually is.

If we usually launch Tamriel through a shortcut and only use the launcher to update then will this still work?
European Tamriel to be specific in this case.

Your new launcher decided it's time to install a vcredist and then proceeded to restart my pc without asking first. It also moved the game folder before the restart. When I started the launcher again afterwards it asked me to reinstall the whole game. Manually moving the folder back to "The Elder Scrolls Online EU" fixed it fortunately.
Honestly, when will you throw that piece of garbage out and make a real launcher that works without driving your players crazy? It's the first piece of software - after the broken website - that a new player gets to see...

@Karacule_Fairystar Exactly.Yes, that's exactly it. You'll no longer need 2 separate installations to play on NA and EU.
This is true, and lesson learned. But after playing ESO for about two and a half years I've never seen the launcher ask me to update anything.Um, you should never ever update any software if you have applications open that you wouldn't want force-closed.I'm greatly annoyed. The updated launcher asked me to update vc_resist every time I opened it.
