I know I am going to get a hell of a lot of trolling but let PvEers have a way of getting PvP skills to use in PvE even if you can't use them in PvP without the alliance rank requirements. something like completing quests including sidequests in your non silver or gold zones would work. since one side can skip something the other side should be able to as well it is only fair. @ZOS_BrianWheeler @ZOS_GinaBruno

How is this fair? Can PVP guys level Undaunted by playing PVP? No! These skills and passives take a ton of time to level up. Gear you get is obsolete next patch.

Really it doesn't take that long. You can get them pretty quickly if you hit the dungeons at each level while you're leveling to 50 and gain all the achievements, then hit them again when you're Veteran Rank.

But I suppose the time and effort is in the eye of the player on this sort of thing. I hardly notice it, but others seem to really notice it.

I really disagree with you. Trust me i HAVE to do pvp so i can get Caltrops for my Tank and im only lvl 3 in that skill line, but once i get there finally i will defo feel i have earned it. So just go and train those skill lines even if you dont like pvp just like im doing.

Trust me. Leveling undaunted is MUCH easier than leveling Assault and Support. We are not giving away skill lines for completing some easy BS erand boy quests.

No can I level Undaunted in PVP?No so you shouldn't be able to level in PVP skills in PVE.It's common sense. Also it's no where near the same thing since pretty much all of the gear is BOP PVP gear is not.So this is only fair for us PVPers.

    Well,

PvP players will be getting a vendor giving access to undaunted monster helms and shoulders for AP and/or gold and that is a good change players who don't want to PvE have access to beat in slot monster helms and shoulders they want, cool.

That leaves two outstanding changes that need to come along.

Assault and support skill lines should ever opened up to all players upon reaching Veteran Ranks or Level 50 for not previously attained through PvP experience.

PvP players need a way to level undaunted skills and passives in Cyrodil or IC.

PvP players don't have to PvE

PvE players don't have to PvP

Everyone can play the game how hey want with access to everything they want.

While completely fair and unbiased someone will go nuts guaranteed.

Buying undaunted gear for AP is essentially a token system for PvP only that allows you to bypass the *** rng in this game and straight purchase gear. Let's get a comparable token system for PvE.

I can't go anywhere to purchase undaunted gear in PvE with my gold? BS

I really just wish the pvp skill lines weren't so darn hard to level. I do enjoy a bit of pvp but holy smokes. That's all I've been doing for two weeks now and that bar is barely moving. The fact that my stamplar has to have the skills in that line to be successful in end game pve is a whole nother argument for some other time/thread.

Based on how I understand this...you're understanding is that a PvP player should not have any option to obtain dungeon gear or certain sets unless they PvE....
    OR
Unless the PvE content offers PvP items and sets.

In my perspective...and this could be totally the wrong way of looking at it, but Imperial City allows a PvE player to stay in a group and gather a lot of tokens to buy the PvP stuff in the sewers. It also allows the PvP players to do so in exchange for mats or whatever items they buy and trade or sale to buy PvE stuff with another currency so it only makes sense that Cyrodil offers this concept too.

I guess other than that, a PvE player cant really get PvP items but to be honest, I'm a 90% PvE player and I'm in no way interested in PvP skills or gear. I don't see why this is an issue

Are you saying as a PvEer you don't like ESO's PvE options to obtain gear?

But you also don't want to PvP to get the gear?

What Zeni is fixing is allowing people who don't want to be forced to run dungeons for gear to be able to obtain them through PvP. It isn't hurting PvEers at all as they can continue to do their PvE for their gear.

    [edit]
Felt I needed to add though it goes without saying:
GEAR is a different issue than SKILLS.
You can't ask for a PvE option to get PvP skills without PvPing unless you are also asking for a PvP option to get PvE skills.

I had to double check but What Brian said on the last Live show was the merchants would be selling for either AP or gold.

    It was at about 1:09.

The undaunted skill line progression is a drop in the bucket compared to the alliance war skill progression. Either reduce alliance skill requirements or drastically increase undaunted skill line requirements so that each side can cry about how long it takes to unlock the skill lines of the other side.

As far as gear is concerned, I really would have preferred making monster items BoE to mimic the fact that pretty much all pvp gear is BoE and that way, PvP players can just buy their gear the same way PvE players have to buy their gear from PvP players. Since that's not being done and pvp'ers are getting the gear handed to them, I think it's only fair that PvE'ers should have more access to pvp gear in some way.

I know my opinion isn't going to be a popular one, but it's at least an attempt to create some balance.

I say the same thing about undaunted I hate it.It's worst than Grinding and it moves so slow.I feel like blowing my brains out doing it.PVP is what I enjoy during but I need it to maximize my builf so I have to PVE is that fair?In my opinion its easier to level Assault if you know what your doing.

I think they definitely need a similar token system in PvE is definately needed now they have announced this out.

and please dont compare Undaunted Tree with Alliance war they difference is massive,i have most my chars with max undaunted and i have 1 with prox det, i still believe they should make alliance skill tree alliance bound so all my DC chars has the same etc. that would make the grind less awful.

either way they need to bring something in to keep everyone happy

@NewBlacksmurf The issue is that PvE undaunted gear (engine guardian, molag kena) is practically required to be competitive in PvP and vice-versa PvP skills required to be good for PvE especially for stamina builds. PvPers can now get the normally locked behind PvE competitive gear without PvE but as of now there is no equivalent unlock for PvE players, it is the fact that they got their wish 100% while PvE players don't get theirs that brought this up.

Also: why do PvPers who NEVER PvE get so hell bent out of shape when PvEers ask for PvP stuff yet when the option for PvP only people to get stuff gated behind PvE gets suggested few so much as bat an eye?

PvPers are not "getting gear handed to them." We're going to need to earn/spend AP and gold on the pieces and Zeni has said it will be costly.

    [edit]
Oh, and if you want "PvP gear" are you talking about the current AP gear? Curious what "PvP gear" you would like as a PvEer.

Correct. AP OR Gold will be usable to purchase the items on the merchant. To also be clear, it will not be a combination of both to purchase an item. EG. If you want a Lord Warden Shoulder piece (or any of the gear that appears on the merchant) you will spend either AP or gold, but not AP + Gold.
