Zeni - time to come clean with us about the real location of the EU server. (We won't necessarily divorce you if you just own up to it now - we've suspected it for a while because of the poor ping rates, it's just the lying we can't stand).
I can still log on to Steam btw, so this is not a global issue.

Different services use different network providers. Thats why you can login in to steam.

And the US outage meaning I can't log onto the ESO servers which are supposedly in Frankfurt (which is in Germany btw)?

Doesn't matter where the player lives. If the outage is in the vicinity of the game's server provider then everyone is effected.

He was referring to the fact that EU servers are supposed to be in Germany. If the outage is US only, why are EU servers down as well. I guess this point is void since outages were confirmed for the EU as well.

And claimed to be worldwide as well.

Do you not understand that there is supposed to be an EU server in Frankfurt in Germany. Which is also affected by this outage? HOW??? My query has NOTHING to do with where the player is based, I am asking WHERE IS THE EU SERVER? It is supposed to be in Germany.

Well why didn't you say so?

Smartass remark aside that question wasn't very clear to me so my bad.

It was quite clear in my original post about it, sorry you didn't understand.

I still want an answer as to how internet outage in the US is causing problems with a server supposedly located in Frankfurt.

It isn't. The outage has now been reported worldwide.

Tell that to the other people that suffer in cyrodiil because the game is unplayable do to the company hosting the service. These folks should sue for damages over Loss of Revenue do to the *** poor performance of this company before the "solar storm" you speak of.. The folks that appear to be responsible for hosting this game appear to be damaging this companies earning potential.

Ah now THAT is fair enough, if the outage is worldwide. Link please? Much appreciated :) I am looking at BBC news and nothing there, I am sure a worldwide internet outage would be newsworthy!

exactly, several people are able to get into the eu servers, and several cannot. Again, most likely because many of the EU hubs are down which means some players are unable to connect to the EU servers (at least not without some tweeking) because some links in the chain are broken for them. .

People around the world play this game. There are already 2 server providers to grant better coverage but not everyone will have the luxury of being within good range of the serverbases to get a solid connection. It would also cost Zenimax more money just to add additional servers beyond NA and EU and if they choose to make that investment it still might not help.

When you have cats it becomes like a minefield, and for months you'll just hear little beads skittering along the floors at 3:00am and you'll never be able to find it. But that cat... that cat will find it.
