Gina...thank you. Thank you and the rest of ZOS so much for the boost to fishing. I love you all more than i ever have right at this very moment. I think I'm going to cry.

    OUCH!!

Thant stinks. I'll bet though by the time you get the recipe and the other mats you'll have plenty of fish. Although I'll bet you would have made a killing selling them on the GAH today. I think those of us who've been part of MMORPGs for a while have done this exact kind of thing. "Oh, no use for this, might as well free up some bag spac/bank space".......the next day

Patch notes before the server is online. This is a first!

    I like it!

@ZOS_GinaBruno does the fact that there are different patchnotes for each platform mean that there are separate codebases? Or maybe parts are separate and parts are shared? (It would boggle my mind if for example the ps/4 main quest was a different set of code than the main quest on xbone or PC.)

My wife complains that I never listen to her. (Or something like that.)

Midnight - Find out when midnight is so that you can check for ww/vamp spawn.
Goto - Adds a tab to the map pane allowing you to teleport to a friend, guildmate, or groupmate for free.

    Very much this.

With a full stack of each required ingredient, you can get 666 hours (yes, I did the math and I got that number) worth of XP boost.

Price for that? At the very least 1-2m gold (assuming the legendary mat sells for atleast the same as other legendary mats).

How many can really afford that, and how many will be forced to go spend money at Cash Shop in order to stay competitive?

Going fishing is not a valid alternative, if you plan on staying even relevant when it comes to CPs.

I cannot believe how ZOS can be this blind (or greedy), and so out of touch with their player base.

Who is this going to help? The grinders with 500+ CPs who have accumulated millions of gold, who will be using that gold now to widen that CP gap even further, until competitive PvP & PvE become a joke (as if it wasn't already).

Who is this not going to help? The normal people, the ones who were supposed to get a way of "catching up". They will only get further behind than ever before, unless they pay extra $$$ (which returns things to "normal")

Lights on please, Zenimax Online Studios.

To add: I'm writing this as someone with 300+ CPs, close to 5 million gold & thousands of fish from Master Angler days ready to be skinned on an alt's inventory.

Why do you keep posting this? It's not P2W. You can get it in-game, therefore it's not P2W. If it was crown-store only, it might be P2W, and not even then, since it's only making you level faster and not giving you any other advantage like god-tier gear.

    • Anyone can obtain the fish roe, with the same chance irrelevant of any skill lines - I think that's how I read it, but just want to make sure :)
    • Taken together, someone who is both a fully-ranked Brewer and Connoisseur creating Psijic Ambrosia for their own use will get a total of three hours and twenty minutes of Experience boost from a single crafting of the recipe. - Can someone elaborate further on this please?
    • The actual bottle neck here is obtaining the recipe, in 7 pieces, that can ONLY be achieved via provisioning writs? - So similar to the whole Dwemer thing...

Also, CPs give bigger advantage than any god-tier gear I've seen in other MMOs. Difference between 200-300 alone is around 20-30% damage and by gaining more XP than your competition, you gain more of that power.

You're not forced to get them to stay competative though. You can get these through Provisioning Writs so it's not like it's the most rare thing ever that people will never get outside crowns. You can get it in-game, therefore it is not P2W. It is not boosting your character other than giving exp gain, therefore it is not P2W.

Given that we don't know yet how hard the ingredients and recipes will be to acquire, calling it pay to win right now before the server is even back up is at the very least, premature. And there's not really room for an argument there.

I don't know, I'd expect that there is something similar, though probably not quite this strong, seeing as the Psijic Ambrosia can last up to ~3 hours.

    I can answer #2 I think:

The passives involve both increasing the time a potion lasts, and the number you can make per "craft" for lack of a better term. In this case, for each time you craft this recipe with maxed out passives, you'll make 4 potions with a total time of 3 hours and 20 mins of Exp boosting out of one crafting.

Someone correct me if I misunderstood that.

Regarding the second thing, the Brewer and Connoisseur...

Basically, in the provisioning skill line, two of the passives is Brewer and Connoisseur...if you are maxed out in both of those passives, you'll craft 4 bottles of Psijic Ambrosia (usual is 1 bottle) that increases XP gains for 50 minutes (usual amount is 30 minutes)...50 x 4 = 200, and 200 minutes is equal to 3 hours and 20 minutes, so that's where the math came from. So, in essence...if you want to get the max effect out of this new drink, max out in both of those Provisioning Passives

In regards to the Fish Roe, you can obtain via provisioning writs, or by fishing. Small chance for both. Just be wary, fishing holes are going to become 100 times more popular than they previously used to.

To answer a couple of your questions, anyone can obtain fish roe, and the recipe pieces can only be obtained through Privisioning Writs. We purposely made Psijic Ambrosia slightly difficult to obtain and craft due to it being such a powerful item!
