Sorry if this is answered but I read the email as I could pay $20 to copy my PC toons (Maintain my PC toons) and then acquire the console version and not have to start from scratch.
Is that correct?
To clarify
- I get to maintain my PC accounts as is with no changes
- I pay 20 dollars and now have an account for console with my current Characters
- I need to then acquire the console game to play and a separate membership if i choose
- Characters going forward progress independently between platform
I just cant without testing it first on console. Ive my doubts about Cyrodil. Hopefully later we get transfer to console and transfer to pc back if customers wants so.
OK...
Product Details
•The console transfer sku is only available for purchase for 30 days.
•Transfer your PC/Mac account for The Elder Scrolls® Online: Tamriel Unlimited™ to the Xbox One
•Access all your characters on console
•You may continue playing both accounts, but progress will not be shared cross-platform
•Please see "Additional Requirements" tab below and Terms of Service
Wonder what this will do to the PC game. console is going to be a flash in the pan. People will play and leave much faster than your average PC gamer.
I wonder if people will be allowed to transfer from console to PC? I just don't see console lasting very long. People play MMOs long term for the communities, and console players are typically more into CoD'esk games, play for a few months then drop it.
I see a short term boost in revenue, with the long term erosion of the player base...that is, UNLESS they allow people to port from console to PC.

I was originally not interested, but if you can do the transfer and still play on PC, I'd be willing to drop $20 bucks on it.

From the email: "Please note that if you take part in this offer, your character and account details will not be copied immediately upon pre-purchasing The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited for Console with account copy."
Is it a typo? will only 1 character transfer? or all our characters?

Got my email too for transfer which I'll do but I wanted to keep playing till PS4 release.
Since it's a 30 days offer, I think I'll just keep playing for 2 more weeks before buying the transfer so it can copy the progression properly and not my current VR1 Sorcerer.
Kinda sad it only a 30 days offer and we have to do it so quick but glad I'll be able to keep my Sorcerer and get the PS4 version for only 20$

Is the interpretation that the account copy is as of the day of purchase because it doesn't read that way?

@ZOS I must know, was buying it on June 9th of 2014 (I know, ironic. XD Though the site acts like I didn't activate my account until June 10th, which I'm pretty sure wasn't quite the case...) for PC too late already, or was I simply missed? Really nervous and anxious now...

Hmmm I think based on how Neverwinter was recieved by Xbox One that this may do better on console than PC.
It's approx a 60 million customer base right now that is constantly growing. Even if they sale only 1 million copies that's really good

That's exactly the issue.
Console version won't last long and what happens then? What happens when PS4, One and PC players are all seperated?

DCUO has been going for about 5 years on console.
Even destiny the ps4's biggest failure has a strong user base.

No, it's not good. It's bad, really bad. So your ES online game only sold ~ 2 million copies? That's pitiful compared to Skyrims 20 million sold units.liammozzb16_ESO wrote: »Wonder what this will do to the PC game. console is going to be a flash in the pan. Destiny sold over 10 million copies within it's first months, ESO PC has sold maybe 1-1,5 million units and console preorders are at ~ 250k right now - that's NOTHING.

This isn't news, they said that some time ago, they've always made it clear that it's a copy/clone not a move and that the PC characters will then continue to be playable, but entirely separately from their 'clones' on the console server.Chuggernaut wrote: »I was originally not interested, but if you can do the transfer and still play on PC, I'd be willing to drop $20 bucks on it.
