Apparently Zeni doesn't get it, I would not mind to pay again for then having it all working over steam, but being able to add the stuff to my current account, it is win win for zeni as it is.

People are mostly being pissed about that or current customers has paid for the original game before the steam addon just want the ability to work on steam for a fee.

If you want your existing account to work on steam for a fee, you can just purchase a Steam copy and log in with your existing account.

No, you CAN NOT do that. Several people have tried.

Actually, you can. It's quite simple, to be honest. The problem is having to pay the full fee for the Steam key when those of us that have been paying and playing for months should get some type of discount.

I can confirm this worked for me. I purchased a Steam copy, and I did not activate any new account. I simply used my existing account to log in through Steam.

I want to add my ESO on my Steam games so I can write a positive review.

I'm sick of those *** telling all these mean things about that game and they played 3.5hours...

Seriously ? I can tell all the cons and pros of the game because I played a lot of time on it. This is screwing up the thoughts of people about this game because what this game need is reviews from EXPERIENCED people.

Even from experienced people who now don't recommand the game, it would still be an ACCURATE review.

Hey, @IcyDeadPeople‌. No, if you were to purchase the game again through Steam, you would not be able to apply the key to your existing account.

I understand there may be some confusion about this; however, I can confirm that I purchased a Steam copy of the game, and I'm able to log in to my existing account through Steam.

When prompted to log in, I did not make a new ESO account, just used my existing username and password.

Keep in mind, this did not add any game time or vanity pets to my account, just allows me to use the Steam community features.

I would not be getting the small gadgets if so, meaning it would be pointless doing such, would not had minded a dog vanity pet though, but wth... if can have a tiger vanity pet instead... that would be nice =)

I don't even care about the vanity pet. I just want to be able to have it in my steam library. I want to get Steam achievements, trading cards, badges, to be a part of the Steam ESO community, etc.

I understand that ZoS would have to pay Valve a certain amount of money, but you know, sell me a steam key on the online store. I'd buy that, so I don't have to spend $60 to buy the game again in Steam. ZoS, Take My Money and Give Me A Steam Key!

The petition has 600 signatures as of now; Yet you are still ignoring us.

What a great way to show how much you really care about existing customers.

You charge such a premium price for your game, and then ensure there is no way possible that existing customers can play eso on the platform of their choice (steam) unless they completely abandon their current account, and purchase a whole new one..

Complete b.s. I'm sure the other 599 people will also remember this.

May i also add that ZOS is screwing themselves, as there are only about 1-2k people playing eso on steam, making it look like a deserted failure of a game to anybody looking at the steam page.

    nothing less than sheer stupidity.

I have been in contact with a Zenimax Customer support person. They claim the issue is not their doing but that Steam is insisting on charging for another key so we can use Steam's features. They told me we should be directing our requests towards Steam.

    Anyway it was something.

    Ty for letting us know.

An intelligent developer would know this, and make the game available on Steam at launch.

A Fair developer would admit their mistake, and take a very small hit to the massive earnings they have made off of us so far, and pay the reduced price it would cost them to buy those who want Steam access, a key; so they can use the game they have already paid a premium price for, in the way they want.

a bit off topic but i think a more reasonable request would be for them to allow you to use your account to log in on pc/xbone/ps4 (once they are out) without paying separately for each.

more on topic, considering the very rough start these guys have had and very low returns and subs i highly doubt they will be giving away steam keys for people who bought digital or hard copy's, and will likely assume people will just sell the keys as many likely would.

i buy games for my ps3-4 all the time and have always thought once you buy a hard copy it should be available to download any time from there marketplace, yet no company allows this and while i think it would be fair of company's to do and would make some good faith for Zen,and while i agree it would be a nice thing to do i dont think it should be held against them as no other gaming company would do what your asking ether.

i gave up on steam about 10 years ago and still have no use for it on my system but is it common practice for companys to give away keys on there if you bought a different version of a product? serous question not being advantageous.

Gearbox has recently retrofitted the original Borderlands to remove securom - they added the ability to convert retail disks to steam for free in this process and handle DLC sold by other people to be converted to steam. If gearbox somehow can manage this I don't understand why ZoS can't manage to do this. Seriously.

I haven't seen much of anything on this topic in the last couple months. I've started another Discussion and hope ZOS will answer honestly and completely on what they are doing for us to make this happen. Or did the squeaky-wheel get ignored until it fell away?

Was there ever a change made to this? .... I havent bothered playing since my ESO was an imperial pre-order and isnt part of the steam community. I pretty much only play games on steam these days, so havent been on ESO much even after the Tamriel Unleashed patch.

TLDR: Did they ever give the pre-orders the ability to put it on steam? (non-steam game is not what I mean)

No, AIUI Valve wouldn't allow it as they made no cash from the sale.

I don't really care about Steam badges or reviews but I am interested in Steam Crown Packs. Can I add those to a non Steam account? If not then perhaps that is something that could motivate them to fix this dumb issue. Unless they prefer not selling those. Because I'm about 100 times more likely to buy stuff like that through Steam. I am much less cheap with my Steam wallet compared to a credit card.

If you already own ESO and would like to play via Steam, you can add your existing title to Steam. To do this, go to the “Games” option within Steam and select “Add Non-Steam Game to My Library.” Then, select the checkbox next to “The Elder Scrolls Online” and click “Add Selected Programs.”

Thanks for spiting in the face of your customers. You know what he meant. and yet you chose to ignore that and give him a ridiculous answer. I have been a fan of This company for years. and i think it pathetic that you decide to follow EA and Ubisoft in the " F**K THE CUSTOMER " Campaign. You should be ashamed. Lots of respect lost today.

It seems you can do that right now, since they just released a statement saying you can now add off steam accounts to your steam eso.

You still have to buy a steam copy though.
