Fixes in Progress (Patch 1.1.2)

Since this last update, no one will group with me. They keep saying it is because I am a Templar and I suck at DPS and Sorcs are better healers too and DKs are better tanks. The only people I can find to group with are Nightblades and I don't want to group with them because they are really bad lol, worse than me.

So I guess my question is, when are you going to let Templars and NBs change their classes to DK or Sorc? I am VR10, but maybe that can be a VR12 quest. Or are you just planning on breaking Templars and NBs until they all delete their characters?

Also, are you going to add new classes after all the Templars an NBs are gone, or is the plan just to have DKs and Sorcs?

Ill resub if you change my class to...any! I just dont care I even like the NB, just take away my templar, is no longer good for healing, and neither for dps or tanking.

Playing a bugged class is better than not being able to play ;p I cannot log in for the last 15hrs and still no updates.

    Zone chat in Craglorn
"Trails looking for more DPS, DK and Sorc only"
"Sorry, we have one Templar and only cause he is a guild mate"
"NB??? Wow, someone got a NB up to V12, I thought they all re-rolled already"

NB and Templar's need a lot of love, but as all the Dev's only play DK and Sorc, so the NB and Templars will just get nerfed more. Just unsub and move on

Rule for any new MMO, always play the Sorc\Nuker\Pet class, they are always OP

why yes I have and they too expected me to actually READ their issue. Instead of saying yeah we are aware of your issue and working on a patch and lumping them in with a group that has nothing to do with their problem. A little help from customer support and them actually reading my issue could have saved me missing 4 days play time on a long weekend.

If this was true, you would realize that those people answering your messages are utterly bombarded right now and must pass along your particular message to the appropriate team working on the fix to give them more information.

I myself have submitted 2-3 CS emails (though none with patch 1.1.2) and have gone out of my way to be polite, original, and humorous, and each time I have gotten a hand-crafted, non-cut&paste response.

I don't believe you, specifically for your lack of empathy. It is incredible how quickly your perspective changes when you are the one getting yelled at for a change ...

Yeah, every time I've I've worked with the CS team they been friendly, personable, and even funny. Hell, I even got a compliment on my character name.

They've also been pretty good at actually solving my problems. . . That's sort of important, too.

While I agree that they are helpful, hilarious and clever people, I think the problem people are having lies with the management further up the line and it is being taken out on the people that are fixing the problems (who are just plain awesome). People just need to calm down, relax and be patient, no game is perfect when it comes out. Once I can log in that is lol. After getting feedback from devs, I now know that the most annoying issues I had with the game (namely nightblades) are being looked at and they have even given a timeline. Issues are being fixed very quickly, 2 days to reboot all zones in the game back to a difficulty that is more manageable and fix latency issues with load screens. The only fix that is taking longer than it should have is the log in issues but even then it is understandable.

and yet this would be day 5 of me not being able to patch if I hadn't solved the problem myself on day 4 and I get this while I'm reading your response which is meaningless as I have no need to prove my resume to you and it make not difference to me wether you believe me or not.

'Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team.

We sincerely apologize for the issue you have encountered. We also understand that this can be frustrating. We are aware that some players are experiencing a memory leak that may be causing issues with game performance. We have identified the cause of the memory leak, and are working on a fix. It is not related to addons or graphics enhancement programs.
In the meantime, below find some tips which will minimise the effects of the leak and reduce the frequency of crashes.
    Graphics settings:

Change the display mode to Windowed (Fullscreen)
    Turn on Vertical Sync
Reduce quality settings for SubSampling, Shadow Quality, and Water Reflection Quality

    Launcher:

Launch the game directly via eso.exe from the installation directory (typically C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client for PC
Alternatively, once the game has launched, alt-tab out to the launcher and close it.

Finally, players should not spend too long at the character selection screen as this seems to increase the effects of the leak.
After you've done this I'd like for you to run the repair function through your launcher. Also, are you receiving any Errors before the crash? Please let me know what the outcome is. We'll be awaiting your response.
Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue!'

Not only does this appear pretty copy and paste to me. It also presents a lot of solutions to people that can actually get into the game and experience a memory leak. When My issue clearly states that I can't patch the game!!!

After the patch, the game crashes my GPU drivers. I have an AMD Radeon 7770 ghz edition. I see a lot of people with the same issue in the 7000 series. Is this a known issue?

Have you checked that the driver you've got is compatible with your laptop? I only bring it up because the CS rep I was dealing with suggested to me to update my AMD driver after I ran a diagnostic and the report showed that the driver was last updated in 2012, which sounds fair enough if you looks at it at a glance. I told him the one I had was the last one they made that was compatible with my laptop. If you downloaded the driver from the website instead of through your device manager you might have a driver that mightn't work right with your laptop in certain scenarios. I had the memleak issue but my GPU has never has had no probs (AMD 7000 series also).

No that's my point, check on the AMD site for compatibility issues with the driver update you have and the computer you have. You might actually need an older version of the driver.

We have also seen some confusion regarding the Death Recap info, and we are discussing ways to make it more clear. Currently, it is adding all damage from certain abilities, such as DoTs, into a single value. This makes it look as if some monster abilities are hitting for far greater in one hit than they actually are.
Shouldn't this be done before implementation? What have the PTS been doing?

    *edit*
It's good that you provide info on the current issues. Just curious on why features are being pushed into the game without prior testing.

Why would the PTS testers bring it up if it was doing what it was designed ? Really you are clasping at straws now.

I just started getting the timeout at login and occasional Error 301 even though I was login in earlier today and playing. It really does not make sense that I could login today and not tonight.

Edit, considering the post above, Tech Support is looking at MY PC and possible add-ons as being an issue though none of the ideas are relevant.

may I kindly bring this one again to your attention?
Any fix on Endless Fury (Sorcerer) not restoring magicka anymore ?

Endless Fury is broken as the magicka restoring component is no longer working in any way. Instead of fixing the skill to work as intended it was totally broken. I am aware there may be greater problems than a skill not working as intended but any comment on this issue is greatly appreciated.

Hundreds of us (probably more) have been experiencing the dreaded 301 error. Some of us have been unable to log on for well over four days. Yet, others have seen their problem somehow magically fixed after X hours (mine was fixed after 60 hours, again, pure magic).

As far as I understand it, you have many logs of accounts getting unblocked. Either it was done by you, manually, or it was done automatically by some sort of server-miracle. If it was done manually, may I suggest that you guys keep doing it massively and not wait until some kind of server-wide fix provides the solution? I know it is more work but nothing gets people more frustrated than being a paying a customer and unable to access your product for over a day. Three or four days is simply, completly, unacceptable.

You guys make me feel bad. Last patch significantly improved the game for me on several levels. Runs smoother, few Nightblade fixes, haven't seen a single not since before patch day...

I can sympathize, but not empathize.

Sucks that so many people are having such significant problems.

I totally love that you missed my point and, instead, craft this response even though you don't need to prove yourself to me.

Guarantee that you wrote the CS person a nasty email demanding a fix to your particular issue right this instant and then wonder why you get a copy/pasted response.

Surely you have tried fundamental things like deleting your add-ons (many of which have known issues with 1.1.2) and deleting/reinstalling ESO?

No, they are not ideal solutions, but after doing some reading I am under the impression you, the user, can do a lot to remedy the problem yourself.

And for the record, I fixed the 301 error by deleting my add-ons. This allowed me to get into the game. I then reinstalled them in bunches and discovered that ESOhead was the culprit.

Your quote was not in reply to my post, but,

I wrote Tech Support a nice email, they were kind as well and this has continued on both sides. I would prefer an environment that facilitated a solution rather than animosity.

I have followed their instructions to the letter and went further by removing all add-ons to make sure. I also went a step further than they suggested by uninstalling the game and reinstalling it. After that was not successful I repeated previous steps such as deleting the Program File and running repair. I have provided Tech Support with some precise details as well, such as the Launcher moving itself to the front instead of remaining behind the login window until it is either minimized or closed. I have also searched the network for any solutions outside of what tech support provided and have found only one, accepting the new ToS which I had already performed last week and is not available for me to do again today.

In other words, I am really just sitting here waiting for when I receive the next response from Tech Support and hoping when it comes the solution provided works. Oh, I am also checking the net for other possible solutions.

Update: We rolled out a hotfix this morning that should have fixed the rollback issues that some people were experiencing. If you still encounter frequent rollbacks from this point forward please let us know what your UserID is, and what zone you're experiencing them in.

We are still working on tracking down the cause of the 301 error. (@RomedyMC, your note above about the ESOhead addon is interesting--if anyone else finds a positive correlation, let us know?)
