    I just love how I get a survey from them an hour after I unsub but their CS takes 24 or more hours to respond to my reply.

    GOD THIS SUCKS! I've been downloading the EU Patch forever and only 20% in. By God I'm going to get my fix even if I have to play with those damn Europeans. (<3)...

    Restart the damned server already.

    Add 1 more to the list of 3 different posts about the same 301 issue. I agree that this is completely unacceptable. No answers and a lot of speculation. Itd be nice if for once, that an MMO company would put out a statement or something saying "Hey, we hear you guys and we are trying to fix it," or something to that nature in that they are trying to find/fix the cause.

    But saying nothing at all and leaving people to wonder wtf is going on, is not good because that leads many to believe, you are clueless.

    Idk, this is absolutely unacceptable after a lengthy patch ....

    So, I guess once we see this bug, there's no way around it? I was playing a couple hours ago, now I can't log in -- always times out or throws 301.

    I received an email from 'Colette' (AWESOME name, btw) requesting my host.developer files in the Launcher section of the installed game files.

    "Rest assured we are working around the clock to get all our players back in the game as quickly as possible."

    THEY ARE working on it. They just need time to find out the real problem to fix it, and not just put a bandaid on it by rebooting/rollbacks.

    I'm not HAPPY about the situation of course, but sh*t happens. *shrugs*

    That is the same FAQ that has been passed around for 5 days now. If it is a legitimate 301 error, this might help you. But the bug in this thread is not a genuine 301 error. There is a ton of evidence that proves this. Please don't add insult to injury, the FAQ bears little relevance to this issue. I know because I tried everything to get back into the game, and there was literally nothing I could do to fix the issue on my end. Not a single one of the suggestions that have been circulated by customer service has been helpful in solving this problem.

    Sorry to hear that more people have gotten locked out of the game. I understand the anger and frustration of my fellow players, but don't underestimate the nature of the problem or the effort that goes into fixing these things. Issues like this can be like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Some bugs are extremely hard to reproduce and can exhibit different behavior in different environments. I have no doubt when they say they are working around the clock that's exactly what they are doing.

    One more here. Just turning 24 hours since I'm unable to log in EU server, but no problem with NA server. CS person was nice, but unhelpfull.

    Can anyone explain me what means "Sign the new TOS agreement" in above mentioned FAQ? What should I do to sign it? Where to click, what to look for?

    Just for info - this won't help. It's been covered multiple times, that's a different root cause to this.

    The whole thing is a car crash which Zenimax need to make right.

    Well, I was hoping they'd reboot the server again during the night to at least try to leave that god forsaken dungeon one more time without being trapped in this lame pocket of oblivion I like to call "Bugmonger Hollow," but it seems they can't even bother to treat us like a relevant part of the userbase. Another day with access to my subscription-based game cut. What a joy!

    Maybe I'll just unsub for 4 months and use the money to buy Watch_Dogs instead, since it's coming out today and it's probably, you know, actually playable

    That's it. Just got the third generic support e-mail on the same ticket, the one asking me to send the launcher logs etc. I've had it. Goodbye ZOS, it was fun while it lasted, unfortunatelly you couldn't keep your game up for two months without breaking it, and then added insult to injury with an unbelievably crappy customer support.

    Unsubbing now.

    Greetings Adventurer!

    Thank you for contacting The Elder Scrolls Online Team.

    Fellow Traveler, we greatly apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

    Please be aware that this issue can have different causes and solutions. First, please (1) Login in to your account on https://account.elderscrollsonline.com and (2) Sign the new TOS agreement. Then, log back into the game.
    There is no option to sign TOS on my account, I can only read it there.
    If this steps doesn't solve your issue, your issue can be connection related. Would you be so kind as to (3) Reboot router/modem and (4) Connect your computer via cable (not wireless).

    Additionally, if you haven't done it already, you can (5) Open Ports by checking that you have added the "Bethesda_launcher", as well as "eso.exe" to your Antivirus/Firewall exception rules and that your Firewall has not blocked access through the following ports (if your PC does not have an Antivirus, Windows sometimes has a simple one by default. Follow the same steps for it as well as Windows Firewall):

    • TCP / UDP Ports 24100 through 24131
    • TCP / UDP Ports 24500 through 24507
    • TCP / UDP Ports 49100 through 54000

    Finally, try a (6) clean boot to disable background programs that could potentially be blocking the connection by following this procedure:

    - Click Start and type msconfig in the search box
    - Right click on the msconfig.exe program and choose "Run as administrator"
    - On the General Tab at the top, click on the Selective startup radio button
    - Uncheck "Load startup items"
    - Click on the Services tab and check the "Hide all Microsoft services" box
    - Click the "Disable all" button at the bottom
    - Click Apply, then click OK
    - Restart your computer

    When your computer boots up again, it will be in selective startup. Try the game again, and see if you have different results. Once you have tried the game, if everything works fine, then one of the service or startup programs was causing the issues.

    Once you have finished this troubleshooting, turn selective startup back off. This is done by opening the msconfig window again and selecting the Normal startup radio button. Click Apply, then click OK, and restart the computer again. For more detailed instructions on this process, visit the Microsoft support page here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
    All this I've done yesterday and answered to support that nothing happens
    Lastly, if all fails would you be so kind as to send us your host.developer log file (located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\Launcher)?

    I played for 6 hours yesterday. Then today - I get to character screen - just like the other 2 times - and then game goes to long load screen and comes back with "unknown error has occurred."

    But this is ridiculous. Once again I am in the position of not being able to log in. First time was 48 hours, second time 36 hours. Both times this happened before, the only thing that fixed this was a complete uninstall/reinstall.

    Yes I repaired. Yes I disabled addons. Yes I checked my antivirus. Yes I rerouted my IP or whatever that heinous canned fix customer support sent me said. Good god - do I have to uninstall (by hand since they dont know how to write a decent uninstall program) and reinstall every time?

    I love this game - but honestly- cannot wait for eqnext so I can get the heck out of here. Amateurs.

    Going to file a ticket - but honestly have no hope that anyone at Zenimax can help. They never have before.

    Was it Einstein that said, insanity is doing the same thing(s) over and over again, expecting DIFFERENT results?? It sure sounds like that is whats happening here. "Oh, that didnt work for you? Well maybe itll work for this other person ... or that other person?" Really ... THIS is the solution youve come up with?? Trying the same things over and over again....

    Come on Zenimax, you need to acknowledge that people have been unable to log in despite all their best efforts to repair the problem from their end. Yes, there are legit cases where the problem IS the connection, but there is also what appears to be a server side issue that has prevented people from getting into the game. It's easy:

    1) Sorry to hear you cannot log in to the game. We are aware of a bug that is preventing players from logging in to our servers after improperly or unexpectedly disconnecting from the game. We take this matter very seriously and are doing everything we can to fix the problem!

    2) Please be aware that this error can occur for multiple reasons. If you haven't yet, please try the following steps to ensure that your issue isn't a genuine connection problem. (Add steps here)

    3) You can help us! Send us your host.developer logs, this will help us get a better understanding of your particular issue.

    Acknowledge that many customers are and have been experiencing this problem! When several people have confirmed that nothing they could do on their end fixed the problem, and you don't even acknowledge that, it makes you look inept.

    As you read thru all the threads the cause for the 301 problem seems pretty clear.Ungraceful exit from the game and the account is broken.

    Their Tech support is completely inept. Always client side's problems. It can never be server side. Give me a fkn break.
