Error 301

Had error 301 for a couple days, tech support sent me the best solution ever;

This is unconventional, but I have a kind of weird solution I would like you to try.

First, uncheck Remember Me on the login screen. Copy your password with Ctrl+C and prepare yourself to paste it often with Ctrl+V. Try logging in and wait about 15 seconds, or until the 301 error pops up for you. Then, very quickly try to log in again. Repeat this step, spamming your login attempts. I know this is odd and a little tedious, but it has shown to be successful for some players. This way you won't have to wait for a server maintenance to help you out.

Next time I lag in Cyrodiil (next time lol, all the time) I will be putting my pants on my head to recite the lords prayer, I heard that works.

And for all of you stuck at Molag Bal three months after release, try putting pencils up your nose and banging your face on the desk, it won't fix the bug but it will put you out of your misery.

Is this seriously what it has come to, you fire hundreds of support people then start offering all the weird suggestions to fix stuff from the forums as genuine tech support which I have to try or "wait for a server maintenance to help me out". How about you help me and the hundreds of others plagued by this and actually fix the problem?

Take a look at how absurd you have become.

They're copying solutions from the forums. I've noticed a few in pasted support tickets here which are copied and pasted from other posts, complete with typos.

A real solution would be for Zenimax to fix this issue, caused in patch 1.1.0.

I've actually heard this working for people....kind of crazy, but should at least try it. or you can continue to be condescending, and not playing the game

Tried it before sending a support ticket, along with all the other suggested solutions, community born or otherwise.

Also it's not condescending, it is sarcasm born of serious frustration.

@Kilmister‌ would you prefer they not have you try every solution that has worked?

As for the spamming, it is a hit or miss thing, it works for some, but not for others, just like every other suggestion they have given. Also, firing 300 Tier 1 support wouldn't matter to almost any company. Tier 1 support are typically not people that know a lot about tech problems. In most cases they have a list of problems and solutions to try, and if all of them fail, they elevate the ticket. A good way to look at Tier 1 support is the support you get from India (I am in no way trying to insult India). Tier 2 support will typically be those that have intermediate knowledge of problems and fixes and can actually troubleshoot said problems.

being sarcastic about someone's serious attempt to help you is condescending to them. Despite how you feel about the issue or the kind of suggestion they gave you, it is a suggestion that you had not tried, and if you had tried it, you should have told them, to avoid getting that response. Just saying,"i've tried everything on the forums" is not information they can use. You need to be specific when working with CS

Anytime I get an infinite loading screen or kicked off the server without a reason (excluding timeout or down for maintenance, etc), I do NOT exit the current running game client.

I go directly to the eso.exe file to start ANOTHER client and log in using the new one. This boots the login session off the previous client and has actually worked to cure the 301 Error for my boyfriend one time. Not saying it WILL work for everyone, but it hasn't failed me yet!

Having that Error for three days, aka ONCE, was enough. Lol.

    Venithar,

Tier one support are giving those answers, tier 2 just replied to a previous issue after 11 days of waiting.

If a company takes someones money then doesn't offer the support that all customers deserve, then that company deserves to get called out on it.

Forgot to mention: This only works as long as you have NOT exited the first client before attempting to log in on the second one.

Was the server they restarted today yours? The only true fix to 301 is a server restart.

well u wrote June 16 and day is July 3 (we were met same problem before June 16 also reported that) still we are living similar problems which is even u launched game at first time giving error 301 or 315 there is no solution about that even with patch 98749879 -.-

i send ticket and they gave me another weird solution :

We are very sorry you are having this issue, we will get you logged in! This error can be from timeouts in the game from login. I really want to get you in the game with no issue so the steps below can help with this issue. Also please make sure your server is set to the correct location needed. You can access that information from the cog like icon on the top right of the launcher.
Here are the are steps that can "unlock" the Login Timeout / error 301 situation:
1 - Please open the launcher and start the game.
2 - Make sure your game is windowed and not full screen (go to "Settings -> Video" if needed).
3- Try to login until you get error 301. Do not close the error pop-up.
4- Make the window smaller if needed, and go back to your desktop and close the launcher.
5- Repeat steps 1 to 4 in a second game window, you should have 2 games running at this point.
6- Repeat steps 1 to 3, in the third game running you will be able to login.
7- You can close the first 2 games, and enjoy Tamriel! (You can switch the game back to full screen now)
We appreciate your time and patience while this issue is resolved. Thanks for your time and patience!

what is the connection with that issue and windowed game or full screen game?
what is the connection with that issue and timeout game even i launched first time ?!
what is the connection with that issue and opening 2 or 3 or 4 exe/launcher ?
u can keep long the list bunch of unconnected fixing way with these issues ( lol )

some ppl can say "outrage" yes i am atm because i spend 40 min for login and only 2 times i reached character lobby and when i selected my character what happened i saw another famous teso error "An unknown error has occurred"
did we define error 301 and 315 ?

we are standing at r side but apparently u r not so i'm saying once again i don't care bugs ( at first every game has bugs after a while they can fixed) as soon as possible u fixing them but at the same time at least i want to enter game even has bunch of bugs

briefly i don't know what do u need changing launcher/exe or improve max connected client number to server or ...fill the blank... just do it . i don't want see nonsense errors nor spending my time for nothing.

lol i spent 40 min for loging to game and then i spent another 15 min for feedback omg almost an hour gone for what :) if u have open position we can join ( me and my friends) your staff team for players sake. sunshine be with you.

    +1 Kilmister
