Cannot log in to game (time out)

It started this morning for me, after leaving Cyrodyll. Had the Loading screen boss, so I force quit through task manager. After attempting to log on a few times afterwards, I thought it might just be the internet. After trying several hours later, I still cannot log in. I cannot even make a ticket for it so it can be fixed.

    Try turning off all your addons. See if that helps.

    Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn.     He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

    This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

    Also reset your modem and try a modem repair. I had a 301 and 201 earlier and it turns out my internet was dipping in and out. I did a repair on it and it worked. No guarantees on this working.
    Also as Greydale indicated that AlexDoughtery indicated, that Viblo indicated, you can submit a thread in CS forums.

    You can physically remove the addons from the addon folder, on your MyDocuments directory.

    Start -> Run -> Type: cmd -> [Enter]
    C:\> tracert live-services.elderscrollsonline.com
    

    If it goes through, it should (probably) end at an att.com route (XXXXX.dlstx.ip.att.com) before timing out (and timing out here is fine).

    It's possible there's a route between you and the server down. But from other threads with a similar error seems unlikely.

    But it would at least be something to rule out.

    I am having the same problem and the last three lines read:

    8 61ms 63ms 62ms cr1.dlstx.ip.att.net [12.122.139.18]

    10 * * * Timeout

    So is this a problem with their ISP, mine?
    This started two days ago, before that everything was fine. Havent changed anything in my system.

    Has anyone been having a problem with the black screen on launch? I'd really like to receive the UserSettings.txt document since that seems to be the only fix. I've reinstalled the game and repaired it as well as spoken to customer support. No fix yet.

    From what I can see that timeout is expected. It's the network settings that aren't allowing the ICMP packets through as after that point it in the traceroute it "times out" until it hits the max 30 hops.

    Your trace is actually 3 hops shorter than mine. The last router on mine, before it started timing out was at 12 hops.

    So, from my standpoint, that seems perfectly fine on your end.

    tl;dr - Your connection seems fine, even with the slightly higher latency (60 milisec) on the AT&T side, which is probably from a peering choke point.

    Okay... did a quick test. Your traceroute is showing cr1.dlstx.ip.att.com. From my connection it goes:
    cr#.dlstx.ip.att.com
    xxx#.dlstx.ip.att.com
     -- Timeout --
    

    I actually can't even route to cr1.dlstx.ip.att.com (Which is screwie IMO, but if they want to segment it, so be it). You do have an IP after the cr1, so I'm going to guess the network layout is similar on that segment.

    The latency on that segment does look high(er) than I'd expect on an ATT line. But it's probably just the peering that's causing it. It's nothing crazy, and even on hop 8 where you had the 60ms RTT for the 3 queries is pretty good.

    So, with just guessing on the network segment once it stops allowing ICMP, you're good on your side.

    I'm not sure what that actually means though.

    I have tried the spam login, doesn't seem to work after about 45 mins of trying. Is there no customer support that will at least respond? WTF! No idea if they saw this post, or if they even care.

    I've tried spamming login too and it didn't work. Even if it did, I just know I'd get the infinite load screen 10 minutes later.

    Cant log in either am getting " Error 310 transfer failed " message.
    I barely log in any more, just once a day to collect hireling mats. Now I cant even do that. Zenimax u truly suck butt.

    That... is an issue. After ggr3.dlstx, it's saying. "Hey, I don't know how to get to where I need to go." It's possible there was a small network glitch, and you just happened to catch it at that point...

    The output for hop 16 is basically:
    For the 3 packets we sent, the times to get to '12.112.138.25' were:
    152 miliseconds
    144 miliseconds
    138 miliseconds

    This still happening? Checking to see if it's worth booting my computer to even try, the canned response from cs did nothing to address my issue last night.

    Got error 301 (3:1:1229:90098) on saturday . Reponse from CS is screw you and waiting until maintance. Lost all faith in support from Zenimax and I am fed up with the run around I always get. It is a reason for me to quiet the game

    It is a shame cause the game is great!

    Over a month ago I had the same issue, therefore I do not understand why this issue was not addressed and fixed already. Is Zenimax not a professional company?

    well it say the reciever is not available when tracing, something has gotten really wrong or something.

    As long as you don't have a "Destination (net|host) unreachable." error, then it's perfectly acceptable. If it times out, that only means that ICMP is blocked.

    For example, my traceroute times out... but the TCP connections still work fine to hosts past that router. ICMP isn't strictly needed, and usually you'll kill it to protect from ping floods, and other DDoS vectors that can use it to cause havok.

    For example, I try to leave ICMP open to the edge router; but then it would be disallowed from anything that isn't from my network after that. This allows a trace to the edge of my network, but not to the specific hosts behind it. Normal connections still work fine (http/https/ssh/etc...), so TCP traffic isn't "blocked" per say (firewalled yes, blocked no).

    But as I had said previously: "It's possible there's a route between you and the server down. But from other threads with a similar error seems unlikely."

    You do realize that error 310 means that you were not handed off properly due to large log in requests. You seriously need to just try logging in again, and you should get past it. ZOS doesn't suck butt as you state, they simply only have a log in server that can handle so many requests. I would wager this is related to the large amount of people attempting to log back in after something happened, or a large amount of people simply attempting to log in at the same time. A symptom of a large player base mind you, because this really is possible. You need to drink something to relax yourself.

    So we are our own technical support now?

    Makes sense tbh since the issues I have had for weeks get escalated with promises of a reply.... then no reply.

    Now I have the 301 error and tbh it's just a lot easier to un-sub than it it is to try and keep fighting to play the game.

    I'm getting the same problem. Started this afternoon for the first time. Logged in earlier with no problems. Then while doing a dolmen in Bangkorai, I got killed and all my targeted powers stopped working after reviving with a soul gem. I used /reloadui with no success. I logged out, and this problem started an hour or so later when I tried to get back in.

    I tried Venithar's method, but didn't get that many attempts in before needing to leave. I'll give it a more concerted go later. Soooo frustrating.

    You have made your complaint numerous times. You do realize it only takes once? Quit complaining about something repeatedly when it isn't fixed in your 15 minute window.
