I am a little nervous re: crashes

Just now, for the 4th or 5th time in a few weeks, my PC completely crashed upon logging in. I got a blue screen with a whole load of text and the PC made a strange noise and rebooted itself. This has only happened with ESO and no other game. Does anyone know what causes this and how to prevent it? Is this something that could potentially, or already has, damaged my PC?

Everything is up to date on the drivers. This PC is only for gaming. I very very rarely use the browser, except for this site and a few drivers. Otherwise, no music, photos, videos, work, absolutely anything. Also, I haven't made any changes to the PC recently or bought and/or installed any other games. However, I don't experience the issue with any other games that are already installed and that I play frequently.
This has been happening for a few weeks. I'd say it's happened about 4-5 times over the past month.0 -

That I don't know. It happens very quickly. The first few times I freaked out too bad to notice what it said lol! Last time, I was distracted by my dog and saw the blue reflection in a mirror on the wall. By the time I looked at the PC, it made the noise and rebooted already.

slackmare✭✭is it while your afk? I have noticed that if i get distracted in real life and leave the comp and come back and my character has timed out and sent to the log in screen...if i log in from that point it will load my character and crash my computer. It reboots, apparently stays in the game trying to load the character. When i finish the reboot, the game is active and im back at the log in screen. I usually close everything down and fire the game up again from scratch. But this reboot happens EVERY time i let a character time out to log in.0 -
Wicked_Wolf✭✭✭✭No, I pretty much always log off if I am going to be afk. This issue only happens upon first logging in.0

Calorath✭✭Right-click "Computer" on your start menu and choose "Properties". On the left side near the top, click on "Advanced system settings". Click on the "Settings" button for "Startup and Recovery". Uncheck "Automatically Restart". Click OK all the way out. Now when it blue-screens, the screen will stay up and you can read it.
Now, a blue-screen is a 99% chance of bad or failing hardware, be it memory, CPU, mobo, graphics card, or anything else. Once in a blue moon a blue-screen is caused by a driver that has a bug, but I have not come across one in years, and I work in the IT industry. I would suggest running memtest86+ if you wish to check your system RAM, but I would also let it blue-screen again and see what driver or subsystem is causing the error. Then you know what hardware to test.0 -
Wicked_Wolf✭✭✭✭This is what I don't understand though. If it was something regarding my hardware; shouldn't it happen with other games/software? I haven't played ESO since my last post and it hasn't happened again. But, I've played two other MMO's and numerous single player games.
I will do as you said and see if it happens again when I play ESO this weekend.0
