Prices dropping doesn't mean anything. (because it all could be a mass sale)

Not so sure about this. Here in New Zealand the price of the game has dropped anywhere between $20-$40 at different retailers.

This is one thing I have observed with games that promised so much & failed to deliver. The retail price drops drastically a month or two after release.

Then you go read reviews about the games & discover they have a mediocre to bad rating.

My comment had absolutely nothing in it that you could have made you to think I don't play, in fact the very opposite! I paid to play, not be caught up in the companies lack of planning, testing and execution. Now I'm out the $80 and STILL have not heard back with a solution that makes me feel that customer support actually cares about their player base and ignoring my emails does just the opposite.

Me not playing is by THEIR choice, not mine! They won't take my money nor have they even changed their subscription signing page to provide a warning to anyone else that might try paying using the same method as I did. They just keep accepting the initial purchase of the game regardless.

If support was sincere and was looking out for their paying customers, a lot of issues causing players to leave would have been fixed by now. No I don't play! Yes I'm ticked off for the reasons I can't play!

No - I am not a happy customer! Yes I shall voice my opinion so long as I have paid for something I can't use due to their short comings. I haven't played for over a week and a half now because of their way of doing business. Call me a nay sayer, call me anything you want! It won't change the facts! They are sealing their own fate!

The only thing I have left to be concerned about is being out the $80 I paid to a company that operates the way they do. I would have rather put that money into Neverwinter ZEN to purchase in game items that would add to my entertainment enjoyment but being a long time TES fan, I gave ESO a shot to support what I always thought to be a great franchise of games regardless of the fact I didn't want to be locked into a subscription initially. I now wish I would have went with my gut feeling on buying this game.

Write them on Facebook along with your ticket number. Seems to go quicker. You can be unhappy all you want but it's a business that deals with more than just 1 person. If you don't think they care at all about you your right. But they do care about the money. You can even go over to the Dev Tracker to see that they have people just to answer questions. Any time I have had any problem I wrote them on Facebook and it was solved in an hour.

All your contradictions make it hard to take you seriously. You claim that the game is not worth paying for yet your trying to pay for it and upset that you can't pay to play. So technically you would be playing except your not playing which makes me right to begin with.

The NOT worth paying for comment is the result of lack of continued support. I was dealing with them, they choose to ignore me when I wasn't satisfied to be told to go buy a game time card at a much higher cost instead of dealing with the issue and correcting it. So NO it's not worth it if that is the way they do business. The headaches that have gone with trying to get resolution to their issue is more that ALL other software issues I have experienced put together. I am sure I am not the only one who feels there should be some very decent support in a timely manor for an $80 investment. $80 for one month of play is NOT worth it. There are no contradictions in my statement. A fact is a fact!

$80 was only going to get you 1 month play time either way. So you still don't make sense. After the one month play if you hadn't paid more you wouldn't have gotten to play anyway. Had you not enjoyed it you still wouldn't have payed or played. So its not that the game isn't worth it to you it's that the CS isn't to your liking. Which tons of people HAVEN'T had problems with. But you said the game itself isn't worth it even though obviously the game is worth it to you. Your just unhappy you can't keep paying and playing. So its all the Customer support and nothing with the game itself.

I played the beta and like the way the game 'looked' like it was going to be.
The $80 spent established that I wanted to play and yes with 30 days for that $80 but and it's a big but, my intentions was to continue playing, not deal with such poor CS, untimely bug fixes, misleading payment plans, people who think they have the right to degrade other members because they choose to complain publicly about the overall experience.

After all, it's the overall experience that will earn and retain membership, not just the game itself, but CS, attitude, response.... the whole picture. You have no place judging or being critical to anyone with ill feelings about their experience! TheScorpion, you can't pretend to speak for the masses, considering the masses are playing ESO. There's probably about 50-100 people complaining on the forums here, or hell, let's say 200. Do you think there's less than 200 people enjoying the game? You're arguing a moot point. The majority doesn't dislike the game. The majority doesn't even post on the forums. There's no way to get the statistics from in-game, and so you can't keep taking jabs in the blind.

Customer Service has helped tons of people. I agree with the payment plan. The bug fixes I have seen have been quick and timely. I see lots of complaints but I see even more people in each and every zone. I see thousands of people playing the game just fine. So your judging me and being critical of me because your initial post came off like a whiny 2 year old looking for validation. So maybe you shouldn't come in judging and being critical of people who are actually enjoying it. Now if you'll pardon me I'm going back to playing because my money was good enough and I can log in. Peace!

1-50 the game is still awesome. After that, you notice all the crap people have been going on about for the past two months. Worthless STA builds, Elder Sorcerers Online, etc etc.

    VR levels are garbage...
    Craglorn is Garbage...
    Alts are fun pre-50...

This game needs some serious help if they intend to keep their players who make it to VR levels. I see more leave everyday.

I must agree about the VR levels being pretty badly designed. Not so much the gimmick of playing alternate universe versions of the other factions, though that does tend to lower the alt-rolling replay value.

My experience has been somewhat gratuitous damage scaling, melee abilities that make no sense and are hitting at range without any animation or telegraph to explain it (10+ meter range on a troll's "slap" ability?), and just the overall feeling of meaninglessness as there is no real character advancement beyond more skill points and a tiny percent increase on gear values.

Also, the veteran dungeons I have run (specifically Fungal Grotto boss #2) have been over-tuned to the point of being tedious, when the mechanics actually worked, which was rarely on two runs for my group. I also agree that 1-50 dungeons were balanced very well: challenging, but not insane.

Honestly, the number of people who LIVE games for the nightmare mode is an extremely small minority, and it is pretty ridiculous to expect a pay-per-month game to keep subscribers by catering to such an extreme and what I would consider borderline obsessive-masochistic play style.

Coupled with no real end game to look forward to, I don't think I will be making it to Veteran 12 myself. I have cancelled for now and will check back in three months to see what new content options they've introduced, and what bug fixes and re-balancing they have patched in.

My two cents? This game can not "make a come-back" as it has not been around long enough to have fallen. Am I upset about some things? Yes. Do they warrant a cancelling of subscription? No. See this is the issue I feel some who do cancel do not understand. If you want a MMO to be good you have to support it. Even if the game is not what you envisioned, and you don't see yourself playing too often [or at all] if it is a thing you really want to see succeed you have to stick with it.[and hope it comes good though yes, support does have its life-span] By all means if it is too different to what you thought it would be and the difference is too big a span to cross by all means, bye, see ya, tough break kiddo, but honestly to those who whine about it [about paying for the game] its all on you for not researching properly exactly what you are buying. Honestly anyone who has cancelled their subscription no longer has a right to complain about this game.

Even though I may well only play once or twice a week and for a few hours it is my hope this game will in time, become more the game it can be. There is much good about it, there are bad things which are well documented but as those hopefully get sorted the good things will become more apparent. To all who think this game already done, that's unfair, its not been around long enough to fail. Anyway, rather hope for the best than expect the worst. Come into something with a negative outlook little to nothing will ever meet your expectations, so be positive and see the good in things.

if you are in AD i'm sure the game looks fine. If you are EP its a ghost town. PvP is a bust and there are like two guilds doing any sort of end game. they should just remove EP disolve it into other factions - worst part is. there is only ONE SERVER

Two major guilds disbanded -TODAY- and the rest of mine aren't looking so hot. I loved this game more than any other and I have a hard time logging in lately if for no other reason than the sorry state of EP. I guess I could follow the drones and join AD but I really don't want to level again...

There are no EP dominant campaigns (AD seems to have a thing for hating the EP) so the only fun you can have as EP is on wabba - and as I'm typing this we have one tower left there and the other two factions are giving us a mc ***.

is that zos fault? no. its the fault of all the "elite" guilds that decided to join AD and all the mindless drones who decided to follow them. Might as well remove the faction barriers and just make open faction guilds that can actually raid together and etc. I have no idea how the DC is but EP is absolutely dying if not dead already.

When the issue of one faction dominating in Cyrodiil was brought up during beta, the response was to shrug it off. Some strange people purporting to know about world pvp muttered it would be self-balancing in Cyrodiil, whatever that meant, and wouldn't happen, etc.

I picked a random Cyrodiil campaign for my DC character to collect skyshards. More than 3/4 of the map was yellow. I got most of the non-dungeon skyshards (my character was VR1 and couldn't handle the VR5 dungeon mobs) anyway but seeing tiny corners of the map in blue and red brought back those idiotic comments that those people made on the beta forums about Cyrodiil.

No, the number of issues this game has at its current state indicates it is still struggling and losing the battle
Elder Scrolls online is a great singleplayer game. I rate it at about 2 Far Cry 3's and 1 Assasin's creed.

idiotic poll. it assumes a comeback after less than a couple of months of release. All games go thru a huge bubble of population at release due to hype and ads, what is left is the community that enjoys the gameplay as intended, with new subs drawn into that same gameplay from word of mouth.

i dont know what patch release notes you all are reading but they are fixing stuff every week.

This game has been wonderful from the get-go. It's only going to get better!

I think the game will hit a subscriber base that enjoys this particular game set up. It will be smaller then some general MMOs but I think it will become more loyal. For those that are looking for it to be just another general MMO, they will likely move on to a new game or go back the games they were playing before. Once the xbox version comes out then we will see if that base is big enough for sustained game development

Concur. Sadly, most won't continue to pay for an MMO subscription for the privilege of playing a single-player game ... at least not for very long.

Yes, I feel the population is strong and many users will sub/return in the coming months as more fixes/content is released.

I think this is perhaps one of the truest posts. And to the last part, I wonder too. Do you guys not see that they are fixing bugs? Or do you simply ignore it, so that you may continue to be a naysayer?

I see them claiming to fix bugs while creating even more. And after each patch we find that some of the claims turn out to be false because they don't seem to test anything. They just throw it out for us to do it. What they mean is they hope they've fixed the specified bugs. 'Why don't you guys let us know if it worked.'

Which is how VR mobs got super-powered and have remained super-powered through all the 'fixed' claims until now it seems they are just pretending that's how it was meant to be all along.

When you develop games, and continually add new content, stuff will break. I've developed a tiny bit myself, and even in my small experience, I can say that. It happens to every game that adds new content, because more and more scripts will interract with each other, and odd things occur, and so they'll have to continually fix bugs.

I recommend just waiting and seeing, my friend! I think that this game that I enjoy greatly will only continue to get better.

People claiming the population is healthy because "the zone i was in was full" are forgetting that this game in on a mega server, not split up into different realms like WoW.

Zones are going to be somewhat "busy" because you are on the same server with everyone else on the entire continent. The only way this could be an accurate judge of the game's population is if we know how many "versions" of each place were having to be created to maintain the population.

In other words: The number of other players you "see" in a zone, especially places with vendors and banks, is not an accurate metric. A better one would be to check guild roster activity. See who has been online the last month and who hasn't.

Maybe but I doubt it. Unless they start actually testing stuff and actually fixing stuff - not just the little stuff but the real big stuff - it will be way too late. What is it now? 15 months since beta testing started and still the NB class is not fixed. Stuff like broken passives they were told about last July, last November, this January and all points onwards.

I took a 6 month sub but I suspect that's it after that because in a lot of ways ESO has got worse with each patch, what with the endless flailing around nerfing this and that rather than actually dealing with the major issues.

i honestly don't think they are up to the job but by the end of my sub I'd have enjoyed the 1-50 storyline so i'll have had my money's worth.

Maybe a slow comeback as things continue to get fixed and balanced. But it will depend on exactly what keeps coming too. For instance if the rest of the new maps only concern guilds and groups and PvP then I'm out as soon as I finish all I can with the existing PvE. This could be a rich perfect experience for the Solo gamer if they could have only held off for a year after release--and the reviewers too.
