Divorce damage from resource pools

This alone would help considerably with balancing stamina vs magicka builds. If damage was dependent upon skill in the skill line and not how big the stamina or magicka pools were then class skills would not be completely gimped by stacking stamina, you just would not be able to use them as often.

Right now each weapon line has 5 skills, but each class has access to 15, not counting ultimates. So right now if you stack magica you have gimped the damage of 75% of the skills available to you at any one time.

There is a 98% chance that it's part of the main
Combat code. So it probly not even possible also I really like it because it another limiter in the game that makes you think about the how too out your toon together. If you build your toon based on a melee weapon utility and magic damage then use light amour if it's melee damage and magic utility then you need medium amour. It's vary simple

The game in general is lopsided. Every class skill is magicka based and then you have the two staffs that are also magicka based. That leaves just the melee weapons that are stamina based.

On top of that, combat maneuvers are stamina based. This further puts stamina builds at a disadvantage.

Each class has 3 'areas' or rather three 'groups' of class skills.

For DK, all 3 groups should be stamina based.
For NB, 2 should be stamina based and 1 magicka based.
For Temp, 2 should be magicka based and 1 stamina based.
For Sorc, all 3 should be magicka based.

Of course it would take an overhaul and before people fly off the handle, the above would require that stamina be brought into balance with magicka.

Or you know, tie it to stats + skills, you know, those stats, that every other RPG has but for some "logical" reason, which I really do wonder who got the idea, apparently if I can cast a spell more, each individual cast also has higher damage. Mind boggling.

Magicka gain is currently killing the Magicka Stamina balance. They have been working to kill the Magicka gain. Templars and NightBlades lost theirs. DragonKnights never really had much of one to begin with though it was still better than Templars.

I forsee a change to Restro Staff's HOW they will change it to screw DPSers and NOT Healers is beyond me.

Not sure why they did it the way they did but it's not horrible if they give us better ways too augment weapon damage then it would be better

All they would have to do is require at least 1 skill from the Resto Staff line to be slotted. I wouldn't see an issue with that. Most of the builds that I see where DPS uses resto staff are using 100% class skills in the 5 slots.

Catches-the-Sun - Argonian Templar - Master Smith, Provisioner, Chemist & Tailor
Valaren Arobone - Dunmer Flamewalker - Master Woodworker, Provisioner, Assassin
Kazahad - Khajiiti Arcane Archer - Master Thief
    V'orkten - Redguard Swordmaster
Finnvardr the Frenzied - Werewolf Berzerker

I agree it's very simple, it's also very lopsided. If you go with stamina you render 3/4 of the skills you have access to ineffective. Stamina build are ALL hybrid builds just based on the fact that ALL class skills are magicka based. Magicka builds are not forced to be hybrid and therefore are at a distinct advantage.

The assertion that they CAN'T adjust how damage is calculated is just silly, since they do it already.

Why not based on how much stamina or magicka you have left instead of how much your max is :)

Actually, that would hurt stamina builds even more, since they also have to use that resource to dodge and block.
